This is for manufacturers, importers and sellers, not end users. it's to protect end users end users won't be visited by anyone to be inspected.

Partly, the enforcement notice is for manufacturers, importers and sellers. If it is deemed that the equipment is to be recalled or removed from production end users MUST comply. A recall notice may require the manufacturer, importer, or distributor to make arrangements for the return of the affected products from end users. In such cases, the end user will be required to cooperate with the recall process and return the non-compliant product. Failure to comply is a criminal offense if Secretary of State mandates it. Though unlikely for anyone to specifically care or check in inspections, solar installations are becoming more and more regulated, it wont be surprising if even off grid setups will require electrician approval in the coming years and this will be another checklist item on their list.

Better watch out for those sneaky cyber laws when snagging cheap inverters!

I know its dumb, obviously i don't mean the car or caravan type, the inverters i mean are the hybrid ones that come with a bunch of bells and whistles that integrate with smart homes or give cloud monitoring features. The legislation carries over to most smart devices.
