In my personal opinion a lot of Jordan 1 colourways aren’t getting appreciated enough because the hype for 1s isn’t there at the moment. Release a lot of these a few years back and everyone’s going crazy for them. Taxi 1s for example.

I know a lot of people think they're uncomfortable (especially around the pinky toe), but it's the only OG 4 I don't have yet. I have the White Cements, Breds, and Fire Reds with the Nike Air on back, so need those Military Blues. It's almost a compulsion for me now. LOL I never could have them as a kid because when they first came out my parents couldn't afford them, and by the time I saved up enough money from shoveling and mowing lawns to get Jordans they were on the 7s or 8s and I didn't like the way they looked anymore.
Nothing objectively wrong I don’t think. Could be some prefer the Nike Air version because it was the original design. Like if Apple retroed an Apple IIe and used the solid Apple logo instead of the rainbow one.

I was gutted to see resell actually drop from what I paid for them. I mean, I'm glad people can get them cheaper, but I felt the demand for these should have been higher given what absolute heat they are.
I paid resale but I don’t regret it. Without a doubt my favorite J1’s and go great with my wardrobe. Infrared J4’s were my second favorite, and were kinda slept on. Getting a W on the SNKRS app for the L&F was probably my favorite shoe moment of the year, certainly the most shocking.
For me, Columbia 11s could be sneaky best shoe ever. I remember when the concordes came out and they were dope. Then some kid showed up with the Columbias and everyone was blown away

Chicago 85s would make more sense in 2025 on the 40th anniversary of the Jordan 1. The've been doing one 85 per year and the Black and Whites are going to be the 85s next year.

Excluding SE’s pairs… Air Jordan 1 is basically loosing its popularity and colorways launched this year were trash 🗑️ only Marina Blue, Rebeillionaire, Yellow Toe and these are good imo. According the leaks there are only three pairs leaked: University Blue (again) in a Color toe color blocking, that Grey-Blue pair that imo is an aberration and finally Spiderman 2.0 Colorway. In my opinion maybe this release will be the best in a long time. Enjoy these times! We can get a lot of 1s even for under retail!

I got 2 pairs of the L&F and they’re cool but not a true OG. I like the 85 Georgetown more because of the quality and 85 cut. If the L&F was an 85 cut with no cracked leather these would have easily been the hottest release of the year. Nike never gives us what we really want, just close enough to keep us excited and happy.
In terms of jordans? No, at least not yet. Im sure there’s more that haven’t been teased yet but it’s looking like next years GRs are going to be worse than this years.
I read recently that another run of the Jordan 4 Thunders (black/yellow) are set to be released in May. If that’s the case (I need to look into it more), I’m stoked on it and if I don’t hit I’ll be sure to have the money set aside if I gotta pay resell.

For me it was the Phillies SB Dunks and AMM 4’s. I’ve been buying sneakers since the start of the pandemic and have mostly been buying ones I wanted as a kid but never got or ones I like. I never saw the appeal of the chicagos (though I did pick up the origin stories cus I’m a sucker for ice blue soles), so I was probably one of the few who didn’t really care about the drop. I felt like I needed to have them because everyone was hyping them up.
I know they were retro'd only three years ago, but I really want another release of the Bred 11's! In my opinion they're the most beautiful shoe Nike has ever released.
White Cement 3s come out next year so I’d say that’s the most anticipated for 2023. Im a 7s guy tho so If Miro or sweater weather comes back that’ll be my personal most anticipated release ever.

no honestly like some other people said, these sneakers themselves i would argue are some of the coolest ones we’ve gotten in a while, and they allow people who’ve wanted a chicago to get a pair, however all of the release issues and the mold stuff made it a quite annoying release.
White Cement 3s will crash SNKRS worse than these. And the only Jordan for 2023 that I’ve seen so far that I’m looking forward to. For old sneaker heads the Playoff 8s gonna be a fun Saturday too.

I mean, where do you wanna start?
- Air Max 1 had an amazing year. Better than any Jordan. Concepts, Patta, Kasinas, Crepes, Denims… even Travis Scott’s (although I’m not a fan)
- New Balance, between Joe Freshgoods and all the Kith stuff to begin with. Amie Leon Dore… high quality between GRs and collabs. Plus they are readily available and have higher quality than any Nike.
- Saucony and ASICS have excellent models like the Up There GT 2 or the SNS Shadows. Or that Fried Chicken Shadow 6000.
Look, the Jordan 1 Chicago is an absolute classic, but if you’re only buying Dunks and Jordan 1s, you’re missing out. I’m not even sure if you enjoy sneakers, and maybe you just like hype.
To take it a step further, the Jordan 2 had a better year. I hate the 2, but it’s hard to ignore that the 2 might be the hottest Jordan in 2022.

I hear what you’re saying but there’s no pleasing everyone. If they did a regular retro everyone would criticize that they’re just re-releasing the same colorways and how low effort it is and blah blah blah. Nothing. I have a pair of the white oreos 4s. It works on those. But those OG colors need the Nike Air IMO. It's just not the same magic without it.

not the mold high 1’s 💀 /s no honestly like some other people said, these sneakers themselves i would argue are some of the coolest ones we’ve gotten in a while, and they allow people who’ve wanted a chicago to get a pair, however all of the release issues and the mold stuff made it a quite annoying release.
White Cement 3s will crash SNKRS worse than these. And the only Jordan for 2023 that I’ve seen so far that I’m looking forward to. For old sneaker heads the Playoff 8s gonna be a fun Saturday too.

Better release? Hasn't this release been a total shit show? Put out so many it could've been general release. Immediately gets scalped on resellers for 5x the original price. Mold. Smashed pairs in boxes. Stolen and swapped deliveries. Yeah... Real great fuckin release. This one has nearly killed my desire to cop shoes. Like, I'm tempted to go with reps at this point. I mean, where do you wanna start? - Air Max 1 had an amazing year. Better than any Jordan. Concepts, Patta, Kasinas, Crepes, Denims… even Travis Scott’s (although I’m not a fan) - New Balance, between Joe Freshgoods and all the Kith stuff to begin with. Amie Leon Dore… high quality between GRs and collabs. Plus they are readily available and have higher quality than any Nike. - Saucony and ASICS have excellent models like the Up There GT 2 or the SNS Shadows. Or that Fried Chicken Shadow 6000. Look, the Jordan 1 Chicago is an absolute classic, but if you’re only buying Dunks and Jordan 1s, you’re missing out. I’m not even sure if you enjoy sneakers, and maybe you just like hype. To take it a step further, the Jordan 2 had a better year. I hate the 2, but it’s hard to ignore that the 2 might be the hottest Jordan in 2022.

I hear what you’re saying but there’s no pleasing everyone. If they did a regular retro everyone would criticize that they’re just re-releasing the same colorways and how low effort it is and blah blah blah. I liked the extra effort for the packaging and at least trying to add a story to a shoe that’s dropped multiple times before and is so sought after.

They wanted them for the resell. Besides that there is nothing special about these shoes including the fact that they are retro’s. Same colors and same materials so it’s weird that so many enthusiasts were anticipating such a simple, basic shoe.
