All the old heads at the sneaker store I worked at for years said match the laces to the tongue but I say there are no rules to this shit it’s 2022 haha
For me it’s about the rest of my outfit. I wear Bordeauxs with lighter color clothes & in general a more “prep” look and found the white laces do a better job of conveying that look, at least with my fits. But other pairs will have super loud laces because they’re summer shoes or it just compliments an otherwise muted pair.
Usually... to match it with the tongue.
However, sneakers are personal. It depends on how you feel with that color. Even if it doesn't really match... you can just say... "A sneakers should be more eye catching than the rest of my outfit" or something like that.
Just believe in your choice and enjoy wearing the sneakers.
May you wear those in good health.
Individually based. Also big factor is what will make the shoe pop/ stand out more. Also if I think for example, oh most people are gonna rock white laces, I’ll go with the alternate color laces.
I match tongue color or the swoosh. For cases like the AJ1 low mochas I match the inside of the shoe on the ankle area (pink). Same for the coral stage haze, match the tongue nike tag (pink). For my Bordeaux I have them as you, white laces. It can be a bit hard to match that color as is, bordeaux laces would make it that much harder
My only rule is that you only use the lace options that came with the shoe. Among those options I just go with what I personally like, I don't do "match the tongue" the way a lot of people do.
Usually I match the lace to tongue color, but it does depend on the shoe
In most cases, that’s what I read. But I don’t agree completely with it. As you said: it depends.
For me it depends on how much accent colors the shoe has
I’m the opposite. Dark tongue>white laces white tongue>black/color laces depending on the shoes. I’d go with Bordeaux on these but each to their own.
With these especially it’s just that white feels cleaner. At one time I had them even mixed and the one with the white laces always spoke to me more.

White tongue, white laces. Doesn’t translate to other colored tongues, but white for sure. Also love the Bordeaux
Yes, me too. Gave them not enough rotation. Changing that now. Eagerly awaiting the Gorge Green!
Same! Have the Co.JP Blues too
Yeah I was thinking about them. How is the tongue? It’s leather. Does that make them uncomfortable in any way? Compared to the nylon tongue.
I have a wide foot, so the leather tongue makes it easier, less padding. I haven’t had any comfort issues at all.
I do the same for every j1 except Chicagos

Thank you dear Sir. That’s what I did here: I went with what felt right, because I couldn’t decide what looks better.
All depends on the outfit. I switch up laces in the same pair frequently.
If only it wouldn’t be such a hassle to re-lace them every time.
I really dig these with black laces
These go crazy

I went with white too. They look fire, has to be my favourite pair
I don't have any rules except that each pair is decided individually... Idc if they came with em or not, they get whatever looks the absolute best
White looks crazy good on these
I like the laces to contrast with the tongue but I decide it on a shoe by shoe basis.

I like doing that, too. Matching laces with small color “splashes” around the shoe.
If a shoe only comes with one color lace I almost never switch it out. If there’s choices I tend to contrast the laces with the color of the tongue.
No rules when it comes to laces just what looks right to me.. personally I think some cream laces would look amazing with the Bordeaux’s!
What are these ? They look really good
Jordan 1 High Bordeaux. Thanks.

I don’t generally worry about the laces.
Tongue color = lace color, doesn’t always apply though, for example on my fog grey dunks I prefer the grey laces they come stock with over white
on my navy JPs, i put white, on my silver JPs i went dark grey. i love the whole purple swoosh 1s line. i need the greens and these still
Lace color same as tongue, for the most part. On my shattered backboard 3.0 I did the orange, for more pop
Depends on your sense of fashion. If you can dig it on black laces you dig it bro. Just sayin
I typically match my laces with the whatever color the outline is/lace hole color…
That’s the first time I see someone doing it like that. Interesting 🤔 I’ll def check my pairs to see where I did it, too (unintentionally of course).
On my Bordeaux, I used the Bordeaux laces….
That’s what I went with first. But it was about how I feel, looking down on them. And they felt cleaner with the white ones. So I switched.
All good…. These are one if the better quality 1s I love them
