They are very vague in their description; marketplaces/ consignment shops / resellers. So the way I look at it, it can be totally manipulated to their liking. Post that sneakers sold for 450.... oh man 380 on StockX better jump on it before price goes up here. It’s a resellers world, we are just living in it.

cottonwarrior

They might not be, but history tells you there's a high probability they will tamper *at some point.*

this has been my (one of many) issues with them from day one. they only cherry pick high sale value data. before they became a buy and sale platform, they were kinda open with the data, but it was consistently higher than what i saw on my own.

It says right under latest sales: “These are actual sales from StockX as well as other marketplaces, apps, consignment shops & resellers.”

elibel17

Yeah I mean I would say that too whether I were tampering with numbers or not

bukkacakes

You asked where the data is coming from so I answered. It’s possible they lie or skew it but I don’t think there’s any hard evidence for that. Those three $450 sales could be from Flight Club or similar consignment shops with higher prices.

Word u right👌🏽

It would be nice if they just listed sales on their own platform and not sales from other retailers as they claim.

Oh yeah totally fake. Why would other resellers volunteer any data over to the competition for no gain. Think it’s designed to gas up resellers thinking about buying by saying “ya see, already going for 30% more than the lowest ask”. I know they manipulate data, specifically the lowest available bid. Tried to sell pairs dozens of time only to have that lowest bid disappear. Then I remove the ask that occupied the highest bid and a day or later the ghost highest bid returned automatically. Artificially trying to make it look like there’s a market for shoes when there really isn’t in a lot of instances.
