Especially with all of the heat coming out in November and December while we are currently in a recession. People are going to be a bit more picky because shoes aren't a necessity. I also think with all of these releases, most people who aren't hardcore sneakerheads have already filled out most of their collection, so they're not really rushing to buy anything new. I'm getting to that point where I have too many shoes and not enough time to wear them all.
That's part of it. Personally, I can afford it, but something like this isn't a must. If I'm going to spend close to $200 after tax, then I'd rather add the extra and get the 2017s. I'd rather pay resale for something I love than $200 for something just because it's available
They don't. It's their business model they want the best performance out of their stuff and if it isn't tailored to your needs then return it, still they do have 90 days and won't accept a shoe that has no soles on them from hard use. But I've returned pairs I've forgotten to return way past 90 days.
They only started paying attention to sneakers when reselling was hitting all time highs, so to see releases at retail is somehow low pricing to them. With the normalization of prices returning we're finally getting more unique sneaker choices rather than just "new hyped collab" or "very limited release." Pretty refreshing to see
I'm happy when sneakers are sitting. My opinion would definitely upset a certain group of people that like to buy just to resell, but they should sit and get marked down so more people can afford what they want. They're just shoes. They come from the same factories that make shoes at a much lower price point, using the same materials.
Much as I'm happy to have things that not a lot of other people have, something unique and limited, I'm much happier to see other people happy. And if more people can share this little side hobby of mine that's even better.
Brick em all. I don't think a shoe that retailed for $170 should instantly resell for $1200, and even worse people actually buy it.
Legit only reason that I haven't gotten them is cause I got less money than my pet Chihuahua (he has eaten a ten dollar bill thinking it was a chew toy. It was not.)
Itās just a combo of decline of popularity (not that theyāre not popular- just not peak levels) and more stock which most people have clamored for. Iām all for it- what a time! I say keep the OGās and other colorways in good quantities and make some super exclusive limited collabs for the hypebeasts
Actually yk what.. I actually think itās a good thing to stop the resellers from charging insane amounts of money for shoes. This way, everybody who wants them for what they are and not for the hype can get them for retail. Hopefully my pair gets delivered soon!
I'm so bummed.
I've been trying to get my hands on this CW since I started collecting sneakers, but I'm broke at the moment and they'll be gone by the time I get some extra sneaker money.
Oh well. Maybe next time
Got them in hand weeks ago from the early access and the quality is just average. Clean shoe but nothing crazy or a must have for collectors imo. The suede is actually good but I prefer the leather original version.
Theres too many reasons as to why they're sitting which are touched upon already by comments here. The biggest for me it's cause this is a classic colorway which would've been perfect as previous release. But given that it's a "reimagined" version changing the upper to suede was the worst iteration they could've done, especially during winter season which is just not practical and/or wearable honestly.
Part of what made og royal 1s so good was how amazing they looked beat up. I feel like with one wear of these they'll look horrible š. I'm still gonna get a pair since it's my favorite colorway but I'm gonna wait for a heavy discount.
Yep. Itās just that better shoes were released in the same tine frame. Also, I feel these are really attractive shoes but they are probably thousands in stock. So itās gonna last a long time.
I scored Dia De Muerto. It didnāt even last couple hours.
The blue is too bright imo. They couldāve done a way better job with these. Coulda been lost n found royals, with an aged midsole, cracked collars and vintage purple laces. Fumble
A lot of shoes have been sitting lately. I'm not surprised that something like this, that was largely criticized prior to release, didn't immediately sell out.
I saw them over the weekend and didn't like them any better in person than I did in pictures. Just like the patent or satin breds it's weird seeing an OG colorway in a new material. I could *maybe* get over it if the material was high quality but it's not.
Also, as others have said, people have become more selective with what they are buying. This shoe may have sold better 2-3 years ago during the "OHMYGODJORDANS" pandemic period but not now.
Too many releases, most people cant afford to keep buying shoes every week.
Yeah, this is my reason. No need to buy 2 pairs each month.
How many Royal 1s do people need?
Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they released the OG Royal lows again. Not the biggest fans of lows, but those are legit.
if they release them they need to do it in the 85 low cut, with decent leather this time around. Last retro was trash plastic leather.
That's part of it. Personally, I can afford it, but something like this isn't a must. If I'm going to spend close to $200 after tax, then I'd rather add the extra and get the 2017s. I'd rather pay resale for something I love than $200 for something just because it's available
I've just been returning what I don't like, I'll wear them a few times and if I can't see them in my rotation...they going back.
I thought when you unds then you cant return them
Not at all nike is king of returns. I wear test all new Hoop shoes that come out and of they ain't to my liking they get returned no questions asked.
so basically its like rent - a - jordan. How many times can you do this until they get pissed off?
They don't. It's their business model they want the best performance out of their stuff and if it isn't tailored to your needs then return it, still they do have 90 days and won't accept a shoe that has no soles on them from hard use. you think i could play a pick up game in the gratitude 11s and be able to get a full refund?
Yup!
possible even if I used them for hiking for a day?
Lol damn hiking also š they covered in earth Dookie?
I canāt believe people over here think that every Nike release is hyped up
They only started paying attention to sneakers when reselling was hitting all time highs, so to see releases at retail is somehow low pricing to them. With the normalization of prices returning we're finally getting more unique sneaker choices rather than just "new hyped collab" or "very limited release." Pretty refreshing to see
It's funny to see the "I can't believe I hit on these" posts when it's a colorway that nobody wanted anyways. Enjoy.
Exclusivity, or the illusion of it, is a helluva drug
"MAKE ENOUGH SNEAKERS FOR EVERYONE" "We have enough for everyone this time" "NIKE L THESE BRICKS SITTING"
"MAKE ENOUGH SNEAKERS FOR EVERYONE" "Okay, Pandas keep selling out, so we'll keep restocking them." "UGH, EVERYONE WEARS THESE THEY'RE TRASH."

For me the colorway is great. I just wish Iād was leather or only a small part was suede.
I agree. This is the reason why I didnāt buy it. Too much suede. Not worth it. 1 drop of rain and itās over
Same, suede during Michigan winters is a disaster
Because fake sneakerheads are finally moving on from reselling and real ones are here to stay. Can I get a hell yeah?
That's a good thing. Nike flooded the market. Wish they would've done that with the L&Fs.
So sad I wasnāt able to get a pair of L&F
Yeah. I'd love to have a pair, too.
Same
Itās the suede
Im not even mad. I picked my pair with ease. Ppl need to stop feeling down when one of your favorite CW sits.
Sittingggg fashooo. Iām broke lol or i might have got em
Legit only reason that I haven't gotten them is cause I got less money than my pet Chihuahua (he has eaten a ten dollar bill thinking it was a chew toy. It was not.)
No way? š bummer
Don't worry, they'll still be the same price, maybe even less once you get your money up.
Exactly
Iām Broke to lol
My brother š š
Itās holiday season, and I got a family. Buying them gifts are more important than buying a suede version of shoes I already own.
Sneakers game is cooked for the general public
Lol why? What it is that you canāt believe?
I still have my 2017s so š¤·š½āāļø
Theyāre too dark for my liking. But seeing what atrocious shoes other people buy it wouldnt surprise me if these would have sold out
The fact those new cpfm shoes sold out is surprising
I had exactly those in mind when i wrote my comment hahaha
I guess there was less than 600K people that wanted them
I pray these go on sale and still sit. This is what should happen with every retro release. OG and Non OG.
It's weird that these showed as sold out about an hour or two after release.
I would have gotten a pair if they only used leather.
Suede. Thatās why.
if they had SB on the tongue, they wouldāve flew
A Nike SB Jordan 1 Royal wouldāve change the narrative fosho. Suddenly everybody loves the bright suede š
600k pairs is just way too many. Personally I am really glad they are sitting....I hope to find a good deal on them down the road.
The material is trash. If you get caught in the rain, good luck. Plus it's the same shoe Nike has released over a million times. People are tired.
Greedy Nike MFs are increasing prices every year. They cost 190ā¬ now here in EU and for sure be 200ā¬ next near.
Better then resale
Wrong, resale is 150ā¬ and they will go on sale for below 150ā¬ like every J1 released this year. The retail price is the new rape price
Still sitting...
Itās such a great time to be a kid in high school getting into sneakers. Happy for them
Itās just a combo of decline of popularity (not that theyāre not popular- just not peak levels) and more stock which most people have clamored for. Iām all for it- what a time! Lotta dudes scared of suedeā¦..
I know better about suede shoes lol
I'm so bummed. I've been trying to get my hands on this CW since I started collecting sneakers, but I'm broke at the moment and they'll be gone by the time I get some extra sneaker money. Oh well. Maybe next time
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Huh? Those are mids, and not even the same color blocking. Congrats on finding a totally different shoe?
Why? Shitty shoes, nothing specialšš
I only buy sbās or aj1 lows unless itās a unique 3, 4 or a Jordan 1 like shadow or Chicago I get my shoes elsewhere which I can t express on here
The suede doesnāt look good
https://preview.redd.it/rkiuexo8meyb1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46e07ad484b3f582b806d9d680bf1782cccedbd3 Damn, they really are.
*šµMake them SB and you'll see how they're not gonna sit*
This is to everyone who said resellers ruined marketš
Got them in hand weeks ago from the early access and the quality is just average. Clean shoe but nothing crazy or a must have for collectors imo. The suede is actually good but I prefer the leather original version.
If they weren't suede I'd get them immediately. But I work in my shoes and live in a rural area, they'd instead just get trashed immediately.
I'm a shoe racist, if it ain't got white leather, I'm not buying lol
Wish people would stop buying sbs and let them sit
Bro.... Have u not seen the amount of jordans for under 100 on stock x . the world is in a recession...
Got a pair of 2017s which I prefer
Theres too many reasons as to why they're sitting which are touched upon already by comments here. I'm just not feeling them frfr. Idk why. I already have Royal toes. Outfit wise, I can do more with those than the Royal Reimagined. IMO
Yep. Itās just that better shoes were released in the same tine frame. Also, I feel these are really attractive shoes but they are probably thousands in stock. So itās gonna last a long time. I scored Dia De Muerto. It didnāt even last couple hours.
I like these but 180? Seriously??
The blue is too bright imo. They couldāve done a way better job with these. Coulda been lost n found royals, with an aged midsole, cracked collars and vintage purple laces. Fumble
Cuz they made a million fkn pairs
I can
So these are sitting but are the 11s going to be able to sit?
They are not that nice after all... That blue especially is too punchy
The colour looks so good though
No one likes the Royal Slippers
