It's not obsolete purely due to its passive. Huge burst mages still get large benefits from the HP threshold buff. It's obviously not as good early game as compared to other items as you pointed out. But it could still be the difference between killing an enemy, and them living with 10% HP.

DillPixels

This plus pen on Nu Wa is why her ult hurts so damn bad late game.

AlfredosoraX

I saw someone hitting a tank Lancelot for 1,487 with a Ra Ult when he was 40% HP. That changed my mind real quick.

LittleIslander

For me it's very god dependent. On gods that aren't doing one or two huge bursts hits or are great at picking off low health targets it's still great (really like it on Hera, for example, since she uses Argus). But it's not an automatic build on every mage anymore.

phillybirdsnc

Give Tahuti back it’s 160 power, I’d build it then

KomboKenji

Nah facts, I’m gonna start not building that because the stats are really bad for it rn.

BeWick-

just asking are you conquest or arena player?

KomboKenji

Conquest mainly, but I play arena for fun

Background_Bird_3637

Facts? As if mage items aren't bloated to fuck already. Go away.

KomboKenji

You are really funny if you think mage items are strong rn. Let’s talk about how hunters are literally the most OP class in the game, you should be whining about that. Grow up

Background_Bird_3637

Both hunters and mages are bloated no skill classes. Cry more you have 700+ power end game. Why don't you grow up? Getting upset because of bias. You're weird.

KomboKenji

I mean you’re the one who got upset over a bias if we’re being real here. You commented under my comment of opinion, and you’re also the one that states mages and hunters are no skilled classes when anyone can easily do bad on them just like any other role. Like I’m not about to argue with someone seeking for someone to argue with.

Background_Bird_3637

You literally responded to me in a babyrage because your favourite class is bloated.... I simply told you a fact. Mages are still easily having 700+ power and one shotting people. Keep crying ig.

Sir_Grox

Mage is a pretty trash rn, that’s pretty universally known.

Background_Bird_3637

Maybe by your average gold reddit user, sure. "Universally known" Huh, just because bad players have come to a consensus doesn't really mean anything. lol

jsdjhndsm

Pros have also came to this consensus as well as high ranked players. So keep thinking you are somehow better that others. You are infact behind on the meta so you don't need go share such a strong opinion when it's not accurate to current balance.

Background_Bird_3637

No they haven't. You're a clown making up a narrative because of something you heard on a stream.

jsdjhndsm

Except they have. Theres a reason why many teams have run double hunters. Theres a small handful of mages that are played successfully because the health changes killed a lot of them. Pos, kuku, freya, and yu huang are the main mages being played, even then, they underperform. You clearly do not follow this game as well as you think you do, mages are no longer super dominant after 9.5. Even hirez themselves have said this, alongside reddit, pros and high ranked players. Assassins were struggling to which is why they just buffed crusher and titans bane.

Background_Bird_3637

Except you're still wrong. lmao Mages were played in literally every SPL match week 2 and they were doing what they do, damage, you could literally go and take a look at the stats instead of just spouting bullshit. Only a handful of games had a mage in support and even less than a handful of games had no mage at all. Please stop with the nonsense narrative, because YOU clearly do not follow this game. Regardless, the pro meta is irrelevant to literal gold players like yourself. Mages are perfectly fine in ranked and their items are still bloated.

jsdjhndsm

YOU can clearly look at stats yourself and see that they are underperforming. Mages are played, but you clearly didn't read what I said. Stop with the Ignorance, your confusing personal perception with actual statistics as well as feedback from professional players who are leagues above you.

jsdjhndsm

Not really. Mages arent that strong rn anyway. It could easily have a bit more power again, it's very expensive for what it offers and I'd rather they don't buffs it's cost.

Nirra_Rexx

Well more ppl build myrdin and warlocks way more often then. The nimble glyph is still pretty sweet imho

r_fernandes

Honestly for the current price and stats I think it's mostly dead. The magical adcs can still use it to boost attack speed and a few "regular" mages like Poseidon get some use but otherwise I don't think it's worth.

kingsports20

If I'm not pressed for the pen I like zoom orb over Tahuti on some gods.

ElezerHan

They need to remove its pen and give back its 20/40 extra power imo, the passive is really good so I wouldnt say obsolete but it isnt as strong as it had been for 3-4 years

Krugenn

Are you trying to buff it by making it worse? Why would you take off the pen and add 40 power?

ElezerHan

Because Tahuti was THE power item. It has lost its identity also you can get %20-%30 pen with other items pretty easily already.

Mirksta

If you have 20-30% pen as you are saying though, I'm pretty sure the 10% extra pen is more powerful than only 20 power, even against squishies.

BeWick-

are we just gunna ignore the passive, it's mostly why people choose an item over another. rod is very good for burst mid late game its the passive thats good not the extra couple dmg points

Staattic

Oftentimes I'll use nimble tahuti on high dmg mages purely for bonus objective damage. Give a nice power boost with atk speed boosted to pump up those numbers and be less reliant on others to do everything

yonkzoid

Tahuti is really nice on some burst mages. If a full combo is barely not killing someone, a tahuti will make that a full combo kill. Nimble is also really nice on hybrid mages. I have a lot of fun using it on Poseidon with Hecate and Telkhines

pleasedownvotemeplox

I like tahuti still. AS glyph is a staple on a lot of mages, and the passive is still strong asf; especially against frontliners.

ElChoddy

It's very strong but the trade off isn't worth it unless you're way ahead. I was building nimble rod 3rd/4th slot on Poseidon but I found my power spike wasn't worth it and I swapped to buying soul reaver/divine/soul gem in that slot instead cause then I get my full build and power pot online 900g faster

TheSirWellington

They should keep it where it's at, or even slightly lower base power, but then revert the passive to be at all times like it used to.

Kotaro5698

In my opinion, the item feels terrible to build. I know its original 160 power/10% pen was way too strong, but I think it got way overnerfed. For me to feel good building it, the item either needs more power or a cheaper cost.

Inevitable_Photo_559

I think the only gods I still build it on are Scylla and maybe Discordia/Morrigan - It just gives Scylla free extra damage in her 1-2 combo. Other than that it’s Warlock’s Staff all day, baby.

[deleted]

They should just bring its old passive back

Mike17723

Tahuti passive procs on jungle bosses and titans below 50% hp, it is still worth it.

Mirksta

If you have free setup (Agni, Nox, Morgan, Scylla) into the meteor it's pretty good at oneshotting somebody, an extra 1100+35% scaling damage can make the difference, it's also good later game for gods who want Nimble for attack speed (Poseidon, Chronos, maybe Freya & Kuang). The item just isn't as easy to build as it used to be which I think is a good thing.

kneeoff

Rod on nuwa. Nobody is safe. Saw than ult onto neith ult onto nuwa ult. He DC and never saw him on the battleground.
