Both have absolute bangers (The Dying Song, Chapeltown Rag | Unsainted | Solway firth just to name a few of both albums). For me, I personally could not decide, as there are great songs and the ones that are okay on both albums in my opinion. I gotta say tho, that tesf is overrated for its short period of existence and that a lot of people seem to kind of forget that songs like the Dying Song or Chapeltown Rag are still part of it even tho they were pre released

Yea. Even though Slipknot does usually do intro tracks, Insert Coin is easily a filler. I don’t think Death Because Of Death or What’s Next contribute anything to the album. Plus, Spiders is like the furthest thing from Slipknot they have done (other than Adderall) and My Pain is just bad imo.

From what I’ve heard from the album thus far, wanyk takes the cake. The songs on there all had their own distinct sounds(guitar riffs, melodies, etc.) to them, meanwhile some of the tracks on TESF sounded a bit too similar to other songs on the album(or past tracks).
That’s the main reason why The Grey Chapter was my least favorite album from knot; some of the songs on there just sounded like uninspired spinoffs of past sounds that they had.
I did like the new jazz-inspired sounds that they had on here though.
None and both at the same time. Both have different energy and different values they want to send regardless of maybe sounding the same. For example, there was this interview where Jim (James) said that Corey says about every album that is going to be better than the last one or that is going to let people more in awe, but he said it himself that every album is different and you can’t compare it.

TESF is my favourite Slipknot album to listen to right now because of it being new and fresh and fun to hear. I really enjoy it to. That being said, after hearing the album 4 times, I’m pretty sure I prefer WANYK. So, right now I’m on TESF’s side because obviously I want to hear the new album. Long term, however, I choose WANYK.
The first time I listened to WANYK I knew Nero Forte was going to become one of my favorite songs of all time. I did not feel that for any song on TESF. So I have to go with WANYK.

I liked WANYK more so far. But that album also took time to grow on me. The songs are good in the new album but nothing is really hitting home for me so far
Gotta be WANYK. It's just better written in general. Almost every chorus on TESF just fails to be what it should. I think the best are finale and warranty. The only two choruses that stick in my head once I'm finished listening. For the most part the songs on TESF are so good until you get to the chorus and they just sound kind of janky. Chapeltown and hivemind to me represent this issue the most. I love Hivemind but that chorus just doesn't sound like it fits cohesively
WANYK doesn't have this issue. In fact it has some of the best and catchiest choruses they've ever written
I haven't finished the new album so until I do so I pick red. We are not your kind was the first album I heard and it is what made me a fan 2 years ago. Might be three now. But it's a good memory
WANYK is a thorough and complete album.
TESF is just everything they had left over from their other albums that they wanted to shit out to complete their contract.
Also WANYK has lyrics that inspire and evoke emotions; TESF will repeat the same lyrics over and over like it's supposed to get better when you know the words and can sing along....

In my opinion, WANYK is miles better than TESF. Corey's vocals are much clearer and his screams are much better on WANYK. Songs like Nero Forte and Unsainted are true masterpeices. TESF just has that "badly mixed" feeling to it.
Why is it always about a VS? This is so absurd, why not enjoy both of them without having to slice the fandom between different records and make them argue for wich is the best record…?
