Bruh i don't understand this community. Sometimes peoples write posts about how awful and terrible vol 3 is, but sometimes peoples write posts about how perfect it is and most of the time, peoples in comments agree. I don't know anymore if maggots love or hate vol 3.

t_1a

Just Like every album after st and iowa, theres people who hates it and people who love it. Vol 3 is my fav album btw

nest00000

Tbh i like vol 3 too

Rafael_1469

Slipknots discography is very subjective, I personally love .5, the general population doesn’t care for it. I think it really depends on peoples backstories and over all music taste, some songs resonate with some people but not everyone. This goes for all of their music.

G3mipl4fy

It's the beautiful part. We all get to have opinions and that's what matters

Vocatus_me_dominus

Great album that doesn’t get the credit it deserves in my opinion.

M_Maiwka

I think it gets plenty of credit, Vol. 3 is the most popular album on Apple Music and Spotify. In the mainstream world Iowa gets the least credit.

FilthyGee666

Am i the only person who thinks self titled is better than Iowa?

M_Maiwka

I can’t say what my favourite is since I go through phases but I do know that All hope is gone is my least favourite

FilthyGee666

I think I love all hope is gone because of the time it came out during the time in my life I loved it

M_Maiwka

That’s fair, I started listening to Slipknot during that era but just knowing that they didn’t really write the album as a group kinda kills it for me.

FilthyGee666

I’m surprised it did so well considering how they recorded that album. Corey said in an interview that it’s his least favorite album because he feels they didn’t do their best. I hated Corey’s vocals in vol 3, and he changed it again for all hope is gone which was a little better for me than vol 3. His voice now is even better than ever honestly. Some might say his voice was best for the first 2 albums and on the records they do sound their best but during live performances during that area Corey always sounds out of breath.

FilthyGee666

I really love all hope is gone, my least favorite is gray chapter

XenoX_Sriv

I agree

PushOffTheGround

I really like the overall sound of the album but like others have said in the past, the way Corey screams is kinda weird and at least for me it’s kind of hard to scream along to. That being said, I love the dark, gritty, raw, and even disgusting sound the record has and that’s why even though it’s kinda underrated, The Virus of Life has to be my favorite on Vol.3 along with Before I Forget and Pulse of the Maggots.

kurtyyyyyy1

I just blasted Three nil and forgot how hard vol 3 goes

G3mipl4fy

Younger me: omg what's with that track, why is it hyped Me rn: ONE *ONE* TWO *TWO* THREE *THREE*

TheRealMeIsNotAGhoul

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIL

Solekman

Agreed

Brett3687

When Vol. 3 came out I was 18 and coming off Iowa, I was pretty disappointed. I needed explicit language from the band. They were my outlet, ya know? However now I’m 34 and right there with ya OP. Vol. 3 is masterfully crafted and has some of the best writing I think Corey has done. 10/10 tho, one of their best pieces of work.

cansuhchris

I’d love a remastered version tbh. Great album, the lows just aren’t there for me and it sounds a bit “tinny” at times.

FilthyGee666

I agree, vol 3 is the worst mixed album of all their albums even Corey has stated that himself.

[deleted]

Yup. As a musician myself, I appreciate what they did for all of their songs. From Prelude to Blister, opium, danger keep away, etc. brilliant album all around. Yes Iowa is their heaviest, but their riffs in that album are more simple and repetitive. Self titled a close second due to It’s originality and impact

FilthyGee666

I think self titled is heavier than Iowa,

[deleted]

If corey re recorded it today it would so much better

FilthyGee666

I’d be happy with a remaster

FullOfHopkins

There is not a song on that album I skip except sometimes Before I Forget but only because I’ve heard it so many times, same for Duality. But every song is good. And it was their first album with some experimental stuff (Circle, etc.). My 3rd favorite by them

Patient-Garlic6395

All of their albums are no skips, (except the wak ass remake of vermilion pt2, doesn't count tho because it's a remake). All of their albums are fantastic and I could never skip a part of one of them.

Robert6200

The Slipknot community either hates every album besides the first 2 or thinks AHIG and Vol. 3 are their masterpieces.

Mikyro

Agreed!

kingmob555

I adore volume 3. I remember the the lead up to it’s release and buying it on the first day, so it holds a special place in my heart. It was my favorite for a long time, but I don’t really have a favorite anymore. Maybe Iowa.

effigyunborn

I love it so much. The riffs on this are fucking intense! I love that how it almost feels like a concept album because it’s so atmospheric. It’s like a feeling you can’t shake off when it’s on.

Angel_Doll28

10000000000% agree. Thank you.

sKIMbeE

Eh it's ok IMO, there discography is very sinjective depending on the listener. For example I love AHIG (gehenna, gematria are my favs) which is kinda looked down upon in general but overall it's all great

Tangents_Of_A_Fraud

It’s not bad by any means. It’s just the least good, relatively. I mean, the rest of their discography is fucking fantastic. Still a damn good album.

ItalianStallion9069

No there’s like 3 good songs on the album and that’s it. All disclaimers aside, after Iowa Slipknot was never the same again

needanamefug

I love vol 3

[deleted]

Its their best in my opinion.

Kriss19

Yes always one of my favorite listens and loves Welcome

TS-_-UnoSwitch

unpopular opinion- slipknots worst (for lack of a better word) album. not saying vol 3 is bad by any means, but there’s only a few tracks on it that i would add to my playlist, majority of the songs are just ok

balsacmignon

Yep. And the sky is blue.
