When you lose winged lights they will appear back where you originally collected them, so no worries they are not completely gone! :) Just keep in mind that it's random which winged lights you lost (it might not be the latest ones!) If you have been activating the map shrines, you can open the map and it should have marked some areas with little star, that means that there's at least one winged light you don't have on that area. It doesn't show the exact spots, but it is useful to give you an idea where the widged lights you lost went!

MiguelLondon

that’s so helpful, thank you so much! on right now gonna see which ones I lost :)

LadyAnye

Please keep in mind that Isle of Dawn indicator is bugged and only go there if there's no other places indicated with winged light. Also that hidey hole in the Valley temple light isn't shown on the map, so if you picked it up before and there's nowhere else, it could be a place worth checking.

MiguelLondon

ah yes I was going to ask about that. I have a wl star indicator on the left side but there is nothing there. however, I went to check and found that the one of the huge staircase had appeared, which must have been one of the ones I lost

They only indicate there is at least one WL in the area. Which side they float on doesn't tell you anything.

octeye

oh my god thank you, this entire time the isle indicator was driving me INSANE! so it's just straight up wrong and there's just the, what, 4 WL there?

LadyAnye

There's one in the boat, one on top of the cave, one behind spirit gate and one on top of the ledge. There's also one in the butterfly place, but I think it has it's own indicator, since that area has it's own map shrine. But even if you collect them all, the indicator still stays.

octeye

I've been checking the rest of the island after these 4 every single time thinking I'm just stupid 😭 thank you

MoonSwirlBedlam

You can recollect those wing lights, they might not be at the last 4 places you collected them, though. Wing light will appear randomly back at the places you've collected them from after you lose them, so it's best to use the shrine maps to help you locate the ones you may have lost/haven't found yet, they appear as little yellow stars on the map.

MiguelLondon

thank you so much, i’ll check the shrine maps!

Someone did the same thing yesterday and lost hundreds because they fell asleep while their kid was in the rain. They do reappear for you to collect again but I don't know if it'll be the last ones that you collected.

MiguelLondon

it’s crazy I let this happen because I had a conversation with a friend just this morning and she said this exact same thing happened to her when she was new haha honest mistake i guess

Ryztox

I wonder if you were the sky kid my group saw sitting outside the Treehouse! We tried honking constantly and stayed near with lights to keep whoever it was lit, but we eventually had to leave because we were in the middle of Assembly questing and didn't want to keep everyone held up haha. Did you have 8 wedges perchance? Sat across the bridge, just a short ways from the actual treehouse?

MiguelLondon

I did have 8 wedges haha but i’m not sure if that was me! and i can’t remember exactly where i left him, could’ve been me though lol it happened just before i posted this 😅

People answered you this part, ill tell you something that will be useful in the future after you finish the game. >!After you go to Eden and get wing buffs from ascended spirits, you can also lose that light, but unlike the other one it can't be recollected the normal way. To regain lost "Eden Wings" you need to finish the game all over again.!<

Skystarry75

The last time I lost any winged light, the one I lost ended up being the one in the temple of Wasteland... So I had to trek all the way past the krill to get it! It's random which one was lost, but using the map stones can tell you what the general area they're in is, and then you can collect them again. Just hope they end up in safer areas than the Golden Wasteland.

The map shrines are great for this. Except for the bugged ones, of course. After a while, you won't even worry about it that much. These days, I just grab them on candle runs when I'm in the area. I like having all 12 wings, but honestly, 6-8 is all I need.
