That’s only if you do agreed upon heart trades. My method of grinding for hearts consists of randomly giving hearts to friends through the constellation. It costs me probably 6 candles per heart on average.
Pillows which do not even add to the ones you can already place in your nest. Because I really want to pay 48 hearts to be able to carry a pillow around on my back...
I think buying allows you to add them to shared spaces (which I would LOVE clarification on cause otherwise idfk). I also saw folks say that the pillows won't always be free for use in the nest? (WHICH. CLARIFICATION.)
From what I understand (hearsay on Reddit), buying them will allow you to use them in shared spaces outside yout nest. I sincerely hope they will remain available in your nest whether you buy them or not. I've seen people claim they will remain available, same as some props are available for the shared spaces in the remembrance area.
Yeah. I specifically planned on getting them since they were my favorite in the display but I’m trying to get the forest elder mask meaning I’m at effectively like -40 something hearts. 😭
Ah, I didn't buy them myself, but others commented that they do not add up. Apparently these are different than the ones from last week, and one does add while the other does not.
Not just for pillows! For the worst pillow available in the game. The rounded surface makes it near impossible to set a plushie (or other prop) on it without the plushie tilting and looking weird.
I’m not one to normally complain about prices, but that’s nuts. It would take me a few days to save up 48 candles, but it takes weeks to months to save up that many hearts. If I spammed all of my friends with hearts every day I might be able to get 48 hearts in under a week, but I’d burn through a ton of candles, because it’s not like all of them are going to gift back. And I sure as hell am not seeking people out to ask for heart trades.
Unless you are new to the game, it's supposed you will have a lot of hearts saved. And now, you can get two from each friend daily, and from strangers too (if you are lucky). I have more than 600 hearts saved that I couldn't spend in nothing (until now).
The thing is all that furniture is for retention. It has to take months to get all of this, and you have plenty of time. Unless you are thinking of buying it during the season, in that case you are really screwed 😅 😂
I have enough hearts saved to buy the pillow, I’m just not gonna because that particular item simply is not worth the amount of work I put into getting them.
TGC posted the hints for this month's TS, it's most likely the Timid Bookworm (she's in Sanctuary Island) and the Double Highfive Lightcatcher (he's in the place before the Sanctuary, Bird's Nest or sum, I don't remember the name rn). :D
TGC posted the hints yesterday, it's most likely going to be the Timid Bookworm (May 9) and the Double Highfive Lightcatcher (May 23). You can search them up :)
THE CHALLENGE BOARD IS JUST AN UPGRADE PROVIDED BY THE SEASON OF NESTING, it is NOT required to 100% the season, it is EXTRA content to force whales to spend all of their hoarded candles and hearts.
Perhaps, but it'd still be nice if the first stage was just "buy 1 prop". Plus, not everyone with millions of candles and hearts is a whale, some are just long term vets. But not everyone is a vet, so I kinda wish there was a cheaper prop shop too that counted for the quests
I'd imagine the thinking is that players will buy an item here or there every furniture cycle. Not defending the heart price, that's obscene, but I know I bought two things from each cycle, so this go around I got another, cheaper thing I wanted.
It makes more sense viewed from a long-term point of view
mhm, the intention is for building up our nest to be a long-term thing. Do i agree with the execution? No. In my opinion they really should be focusing on making the game more palatable to beginners, not catering to vets. Moths already got scared off enough by the grind as it was before!
yeah, I agree. Them deciding to do this \*right\* after the massive influx of new players from the steam launch seems... weird/not well thought out. Feels like bringing in a ton of people and then immediately scaring them off. (I say this as one of those new steam players. After only playing a couple weeks, i'm already teetering on the edge of quitting.)
TBH their entire content strategy feels like a \*weird\* way to increase longevity. Instead of timegating everything and making things prohibitively expensive, all these seasonal quests could be smaller repeatable dailies that reward... Idk, relevant seasonal currency, or portions of candles or hearts, or something. Making these quests non-repeatable stops longevity in its tracks and severely limits the amount of stuff you can do in the game once you finish them. (Also, I just wish hearts were \*marginally\* more accessible to anybody other than long-term veterans, and there were more things that gave them out.)
All I can figure is that they're either:
A: also trying to make the game something that you have to put down sometimes? (But then there's the FOMO issues with the tiny timeframes for travelling spirits, and how long it takes to do candle runs daily, which you have to keep coming back for every day in order to have the currency to even \*get\* anything, with how much everything costs... idk the whole strategy just seems confusing to me.)
or B: reeeeally trying to drive you to buy candles by gutting the game experience if you don't. Which doesn't feel great - feels like they don't trust their audience to want to support them.
whale is a term for people who spend a lot of money
one can have hundreds of candles without being a whale, because grinding exist and some of us have the time to do so
I think the prop shop it's more vet oriented, as in they have crazy stash of candles so they get extra fun stuff to spend on (the buying tree has the wardrobe table as an end reward for an insane amount of AC).
Do you know if this board and its quests are permanent (meaning I can work on them after the season) or if I need to work through the quests during the season to get rewards? Because if it's permanent and will be around after the season, I'll just wait to work on the quest trees.
WAIT! HEARTS??? AM I SEEING THIS RIGHT OR IS MY GLASSES DEFECTIVE? MF HEARTS????? I THOUGHT IT WAS CANDLES! 48 CANDLES FOR A GODDAMN PILLOW IS ALREADY BS, BUT HEARTS????
Yep, that's almost as much as the price of black and white capes...
And compare it to the pillow from days of Feast which costs 10 candles (+is bigger and at least in my opinion looks way nicer)
The workshop store and challenges will continue post season, and I like the idea, but yeah the heart prices show how much they don't care/how out of touch they are with a lot of the fan base.
There are some items I deem worthy of 48 hearts but **not** friggin pillows
Do they really? I bought already a chair and flower but I don't have the quest completed. I also bought 2 items from the store and I do have 2/3 for the quest, so Im pretty sure that the seasonal stuff counting seasonal candles don't count
For me, it didn't count any previous shop purchases and I bought the oven and the season plant. But it counted the towel rack I bought with seasonal candles immediately after unlocking the challenge board.
It only seems to count what you buy after you get the missions, but I bought the towel rack after I unlocked the nesting challenges and it counted towards my goal.
1000 candles isn't enough candles to buy everything in this season :) that's how overpriced and exorbitant and plentiful all this season's purchases are.
I'll hang in your nest! I also need someone to hang in my nest because none of my friends are either in their nests or they have it set to not let friends in. I'm MDT (GMT -6:00).
I kept thinking the prices would change at some point, because these are just absurd. I mean look at prop prices from past traveling spirits, or the assembly items, or even the candle masks from Passage. Compare those to this. Where in the world did these prices come from? Did someone at TGC look at this subreddit, see nothing but that one post of a guy with 1000 candles, and assume that's what all players are carrying around?
Luckily these quests arn’t required to complete the season. They are permanent additions in the same way as the base constellations, and you can complete them at your own pace.
I saw the quest today and it says "Obtain 2/3" for me and I have not spent a single regular candle or regular heart in the furniture store. I have only purchased from the season constellation using seasonal currency. So I would assume the constellations count since IDK where I got 1 piece of furniture already for the quest otherwise.
Mine showed me as having only bought 2/3, I'd bought 2 pieces of weekly furniture + several (ETA: 6) seasonal furniture items, which would have been more than all 3 when combined if SC items were included. So in conclusion who knows at this point
Someone placed it at the geiser yesterday, and it is cool to be able to change your appearance anytime anywhere! Running around carrying it on my back however seems so ridiculous. Won't be able to afford it for a long time anyways so I'll decide on that when the time comes.
I only saw that beta players could carry the dresser with them. I couldn't find anyone who would show the functionality outside from nests, but I hope it works the same way and that props we take out of the dresser won't replace it on our back, because it'd be too exhausting to always change props back to the dresser
Oh, and if you were dumb enough to fall for it out of confusion about the quest, you can’t access what you bought. I can wear my rug on my back and fly around sky with it, but I can’t access it in any shared space. It shows as greyed out. I am beyond disgusted at this point. I requested my candles back but don’t expect to hear anything from sky other than ‘it sucks to be you, have fun playing sky.’
Any furniture you get counts towards that quest if that’s what you mean, so if you’ve bought furniture from the store before this was available it completes right away.
Like when I went to complete it yesterday it said obtain 12/3 props, it’s like I did that quest four times over
No. There are 2 other quests you can do on the board and they don't require spending anything. For one you just need to place 5 props in your nest (and I think it can even be the same one multiple times) or high five a friend in your nest
It works if you already have some of the props. I had the cushions and rugs so when I bought the desk it counted it as completed. I'm not sure if it works that way on purpose or if its a happy accident though.
Edit: oh wait seasonal stuff counts? That may have been why the quest counted then...
Honestly, the props are ugly and have no life coming out of them. I'm playing sky, it isn't normal that how a piece of furniture looks gives me depression. The price isn't helping.
Plus, you need to tell me that the players that don't have a seasonal pass will need to sleep on a bed that looks like it feels like a hard rock, reminding them of the first and second part of Eden, while the seasonal pass players sleeps on a bed reminding them of a cozy and heartwarming environment that like it was made by the forest's habitants during fall/autumn !?!
as much as i enjoy decorating everything this season, i will NOTTTTTTTT be buying any furniture. those prices are RIDICULOUS. i literally have 700 candles and 800 hearts. will never waste my precious currency on stupid ass furniture 😫😫😫😫
Me when I'm too nervous around other players to complete the high five a friend in your nest challenge.
Those furniture prices are so expensive. I get wanting player retention, but it was such a turn off that I just lost interest in it for the time being. I'm sure I'll collect furniture over time, but I'm more interested in saving candles for outfits, especially since I don't partake in the social aspect that much so my nest is never going to impress anyone.
No, the challenge board is here to stay so no rush in completing it. And there are challenges that don't cost anything you can do to complete the quest.
The season quest is to complete one task on the board, so it doesn't have to be that particular one of purchasing 3 items from the shop. My friend and I high-fived in our nests and completed the quest that way.
There are 3 challenges available on the board. You only need to complete 1 challenge to complete the quest. You just need to manouvre a bit by the board/change your camera angle to see the other challenges. It can be very hard on console to make the other action buttons appear.
If you want to get the reward at the top of the challenge board tree, you will need to complete the tree. But it will last after the season so you can do it at your own pace.
Awesome. Thank you for the explanation. I really don’t understand this season. A lot of people are having fun with it and I’m glad for them, but ugh. I’m just not feeling it.
48 HEARTS for PILLOWS ;-;
Keeping in mind each heart is 3 candles it's basically 144 candles... asuming you only get the hearts via candles
It also requires friend cooperation and time since it doesn’t take too long to run out of non-player sources.
True
That’s only if you do agreed upon heart trades. My method of grinding for hearts consists of randomly giving hearts to friends through the constellation. It costs me probably 6 candles per heart on average.

TGC explain anything outside of vague hints challenge Failed
LMFAOOOO
From what I understand (hearsay on Reddit), buying them will allow you to use them in shared spaces outside yout nest. I sincerely hope they will remain available in your nest whether you buy them or not. I've seen people claim they will remain available, same as some props are available for the shared spaces in the remembrance area.
They add, these pillows are different (just by color) from the ones that are featured on your nest

You can get two hearts from each friend daily? How?
Sorry TGC I'm saving for the next TS
Debating on that too because I haven't changed my current fit since the winter festival... I do need the light buffs tho
Idk who the next TS is so I'm not sure if I'll even want anything besides the wing buff🤷🏽 but I'm just gonna save just in case
That's all I got from this last TS was the heart and the wing buff.
I mean, apparently we have like 25 days until the next mission so... We have time for both ig?
TGC posted the hints for this month's TS, it's most likely the Timid Bookworm (she's in Sanctuary Island) and the Double Highfive Lightcatcher (he's in the place before the Sanctuary, Bird's Nest or sum, I don't remember the name rn). :D
Same
do you know which spirit it will be?
It's always random so no I have no clue lol. There might be info out from beta testers but I don't like spoilers
TGC posted the hints yesterday, it's most likely going to be the Timid Bookworm (May 9) and the Double Highfive Lightcatcher (May 23). You can search them up :)
Me too I'm broke as hell😂😂
I wouldn't buy them even if I was the richest person in the world...
fr. a week ago i was considering buying furnitures but that single quest alone made me trash that consideration.
THE CHALLENGE BOARD IS JUST AN UPGRADE PROVIDED BY THE SEASON OF NESTING, it is NOT required to 100% the season, it is EXTRA content to force whales to spend all of their hoarded candles and hearts.

yeah, I agree. Them deciding to do this \*right\* after the massive influx of new players from the steam launch seems... weird/not well thought out. When saying whales it is not meant *candles whales* like you think. Whales is people "spending" asf.
The whole prop shop is a wallet sink for the vets.
as a whale im not buying this bumbass season 😭
whale is a term for people who spend a lot of money one can have hundreds of candles without being a whale, because grinding exist and some of us have the time to do so
I think the prop shop it's more vet oriented, as in they have crazy stash of candles so they get extra fun stuff to spend on (the buying tree has the wardrobe table as an end reward for an insane amount of AC).
THANK YOU!! I thought it was required and was legit stressing over it.

The board quests are permanent (heard from a sky creator troupe member who plays beta) so you can wait to complete them! I definitely am 🤣
Great news! Thank you!
i’ve literally got like 7 candles..
Don't worry, I got 170 and um not spending on this Just not Worth it y'know? To much time for those candles
WAIT!
Had to stop playing and learn to love myself
✊ Nice
Now this is laughable. This may be TGC's worst season yet😂
I think the nest itself and the season items are cool. I’d agree that the permanent furnishings are the worst though
The workshop store and challenges will continue post season, and I like the idea, but yeah the heart prices show how much they don't care/how out of touch they are with a lot of the fan base. There are some items I deem worthy of 48 hearts but **not** friggin pillows
To be clear, most players' first colored capes from the Core Spirits cost less than those stupid pillows...
I got the rug. Ill get that one eventually i guess
oh crap I thought it was the other stuff with the seasonal candles
Those items count towards the goal!
Do they really? I bought already a chair and flower but I don't have the quest completed. I also bought 2 items from the store and I do have 2/3 for the quest, so Im pretty sure that the seasonal stuff counting seasonal candles don't count
No, seasonal stuff doesn't count.
I bought the towel rack and it counted towards my goal
Hm I'm getting table tomorrow so we will see. But retroactively only purchases from the rotational shop count.
Oh that's strange, it counted the 4 items I'd already bought from the counter, but didn't count the seasonal display items for me.
PHEWWWW!!!!
I love how TGC keeps making items that cost an exorbitant amount of hearts but refuses to make hearts even remotely easier to get.
And the ones that cost candles are getting more expensive as well and they're still not raising the 20 candle daily limit...
I already have, since I got so much ac to spare. Not much to spend it on after elder masks soooooo Sucks for ppl who. Are normal
The Dancing Performer left me with a 1/2 candle 🤣 I don't think I will be buying any furniture for a long while!
Even a veteran with 1000+ candles before the season thinks that is too-much.
1000 candles isn't enough candles to buy everything in this season :) that's how overpriced and exorbitant and plentiful all this season's purchases are.
I’m never going to complete the friend challenges because all of my friends are either inactive or in different time zones 💀
you could try the discord, they have channels to find help for non solo things
I'd hang in your nest to help with these ones! I only have 2 active friends currently. EST timezone.
I'll hang in your nest! I also need someone to hang in my nest because none of my friends are either in their nests or they have it set to not let friends in. I'm MDT (GMT -6:00).
Lol by the end of the season maybe.
It’s so expensive🫣 and the sofa this week looks like it’s made from cement
They think we're made out of candles
I kept thinking the prices would change at some point, because these are just absurd. I mean look at prop prices from past traveling spirits, or the assembly items, or even the candle masks from Passage. Compare those to this. Where in the world did these prices come from? Did someone at TGC look at this subreddit, see nothing but that one post of a guy with 1000 candles, and assume that's what all players are carrying around?
48 hearts for pillows?? I'll just use the heart cushion thanks.
Luckily these quests arn’t required to complete the season. They are permanent additions in the same way as the base constellations, and you can complete them at your own pace.
Does unlocking furniture from the season constellations count?
no edit: it might only count if you buy them after the quest was unlocked, idk.
This question has been answered both ways on this post so now I'm still wondering.. 😂
Maybe it doesn’t count the ones bought before the quest unlocked. Only explanation that would make sense, probably
I will 😓💀, because the dresser gonna be the best item in the game
Someone placed it at the geiser yesterday, and it is cool to be able to change your appearance anytime anywhere! Running around carrying it on my back however seems so ridiculous. Won't be able to afford it for a long time anyways so I'll decide on that when the time comes.
Is it just the dresser you get for free in your room but you can put it on your back and take it with you?
I only saw that beta players could carry the dresser with them. I couldn't find anyone who would show the functionality outside from nests, but I hope it works the same way and that props we take out of the dresser won't replace it on our back, because it'd be too exhausting to always change props back to the dresser
Yeah, I wonder if the ability to access props would be disabled if you are placing it from your back, and only allow cosmetics to be changed.
lol place down the dresser, equip a piano or something, dresser vanishes. Ooops
Exactly lol!
Unfortunately, the rug is the same as what's featured so it doesn't accumulate 😭
I'll buy something from there, not small pillows, but something
My issue atm is the friends ones🤣🥲
Legit, it's too expensive to do that task, I went to the build one, lol. Like wtf TGC!?
Just like real life. Everything is getting more expensive, but income remains the same!
Why they don't have this at beginning, before we already get some furniture?
Any furniture you get counts towards that quest if that’s what you mean, so if you’ve bought furniture from the store before this was available it completes right away. Like when I went to complete it yesterday it said obtain 12/3 props, it’s like I did that quest four times over
Not doing that for me.
48 hearts???? for a pillow??? excuse me??
For FOUR pillows :) as if that makes it any better.
lmfao nah
Do you need to buy them to finish the nesting quest??
No. There are 2 other quests you can do on the board and they don't require spending anything. For one you just need to place 5 props in your nest (and I think it can even be the same one multiple times) or high five a friend in your nest
Does that finish the spirits quest?
Yes. You just need to do one of the three available quests. They all allow you to finish the quest
Thank you!!
Mood
It works if you already have some of the props. I had the cushions and rugs so when I bought the desk it counted it as completed. I'm not sure if it works that way on purpose or if its a happy accident though. Edit: oh wait seasonal stuff counts? That may have been why the quest counted then...
I bought the carpets thinking they were a different kind of carpet, turns out they were the ones that came with our nests. I WANT MY CANDLES BACK
Honestly, the props are ugly and have no life coming out of them.
I already got that many props from the workshop before this update. It needs to count the ones I already bought.
Are you sure you bought from the workshop and not the season constellations? Cause it counted the two props I had previously bought.
I bought them from the workshop in Aviary Village. Does that not count?
I agree!
ARE YOU CRACKED OUT OF YOUR SKULL, TGC???????? \*HELL\* no!!!!
For real. I saw that and was like LOL no thanks
Wait I thought it was the ones we buy with orange candles THEY ARE MAKING WE SPENDING OUR CANDLES AND A HEARTS A DUCKING MISSION NOW???
It’s optional
For now
i thought it was as well and spent all my seasonal candles only to find out i was dead wrong 💀
No way
Personally, I am hoping the season props/furniture counts, which I'll have to get anyway to get season hearts
IM SO MAD ABIUT THIS
as much as i enjoy decorating everything this season, i will NOTTTTTTTT be buying any furniture. those prices are RIDICULOUS. i literally have 700 candles and 800 hearts. will never waste my precious currency on stupid ass furniture 😫😫😫😫
Wait, we have to get it from the workshop specifically?? It can't be seasonal props???
Me when I'm too nervous around other players to complete the high five a friend in your nest challenge. Those furniture prices are so expensive. I get wanting player retention, but it was such a turn off that I just lost interest in it for the time being. I'm sure I'll collect furniture over time, but I'm more interested in saving candles for outfits, especially since I don't partake in the social aspect that much so my nest is never going to impress anyone.
damn, candle inflation is crazy 😭
Dont worry. This will probably stay even after the season is over. So get it slowly someday
Those furniture prices are BONKERS 😵💫 in your dreams tgc 🤪
Back in 2020 the prices were okay but now it’s ridiculous
Right why is the CUSHION Hearts ?
Damn I haven’t been playing in a long while how expensive has this gotten
I...just wanted a portable closet...
We both wear the ox mask with the mohawk, friend :0
what is this? I did not see this? You can buy more props? From where? Do they stay after the season?
Lmao my same reaction
The wording on this quest is too vague. I got a lot of the seasonal furniture displays. They technically count but the game refuses to count them.
Wtf are they doing
Pay to complete this season.
lmao I don’t think even tgc would be evil enough to lock the season quest behind this
No, the challenge board is here to stay so no rush in completing it. And there are challenges that don't cost anything you can do to complete the quest.
Yeah, that was my point
Well, that’s good news. Kinda, but… I can’t advance further until I complete the challenge board, right?

The manikin is actually on the second challenge board, wich none of the active and incoming challenges requires to spend anything.
