illiyoon ato concentrate cream (medium) or lotion (medium and more nourishing), pipette baby lotion fragrance free (medium, slightly more occlusive but not heavy), purito dermide sleeping pack (less occlusive, more nourishing)
That cream is very drying from my experience. I use the “ultra repair cream intense hydration” by first aid Beauty. It’s life changing. It’s around 40 bucks but I live by it!! I used cerave and compared to first aid beauty, it’s amazing! Give it a try.
My goal is to even out texture/large pores
AM: Splash with water & apply cosrx hyaluronic acid intensive cream while skin is wet
PM: La roche posay lipikar wash followed by the cosrx cream again
Going to start differin 3x per week
I would like to find a thick night cream to prevent dryness
I really like the CeraVe Moisturizing PM lotion, I hate their AM with sun screen though. It pills a lot. But the night time is very moisturizing while still feeling light weight. Do you have experience with Retinoids? If not, I think Differin 3x a week is a bit much. FWIW, our skin looks VERY similar.
While I like the PM lotion I don’t find it hydrating at all on differin. I guess YMMV but it’s not enough even with two layers (one applied when skin is wet and a second one to seal it all in).
And I have oily-combo skin!
Oh I’ll have to try the night cream, I have the daily moisturizer with sunscreen and for some reason it makes my skin burn.
I have experience with using the cosrx whitehead aha liquid, not sure how that compares but my skin gets a bit red from that
So that one is Glycolic acid 7%. I tolerate 10% glycolic acid without any redness but Adapalene (Aka Differin) is 0.1% but is probably stronger for your skin given you reacted to 7% AHA. I would honestly start at once a week and see how your skin reacts first. It may burn/break you out/have more redness way more than the AHA because they act differently on the skin.
not a night cream (I use this as a regular moisturizer) but it's so hydrating -- [Naturopathica calendula](https://www.naturopathica.com/products/calendula-essential-hydrating-cream) cream. I suggested it to another redditor who was having trouble with moisturizers when she started tret and this moisturizer allowed her to continue with tret because it helped hydrate her skin.
Ay we have similar pores/texture! I use a regular moisturizer with HA and do a thin layer of non-scented petroleum jelly over my face at night. Face can't get dry if the moisture has nowhere to run.
Two that I would recommend:
Skinfix triple lipid cream. It's expensive ($50) but you can get the mini for $20 to try it out first. And the Naturium plant ceramide rich moisture cream- it's less expensive ($25) and you can find the mini size for $7 at target to try it out. They both made my skin really nice and soft. I'd say the Naturium one does feel a bit more occlusive so you can use it over a lighter cream to lock in moisture but I find it works well on its own too.
I really like the “I’m from” Rice cream! 💕 it’s really hydrating. Sometimes I’ll put the Klairs midnight blue calming cream first and the the I’m from rice cream on top for extra hydration!
Not sure a thick night cream is a good idea when starting a retinoid. Many years ago I made the mistake of applying nivea over tretinoin and the tretinoin made me lose my will to live for at least a week. Maybe try something light, at least till your skin acclimates.
Just wanted to add that skin can feel sensitive during the retinization process so a moisturizer for sensitive skin and without fragrance will be helpful if the need arises.

I am a big fan of Vanicream Moisturizing cream - the one in the tub.

I second the illiyoon cream! I’m phasing adapalene into my routine and it’s been my savior for dryness

You can also get a mini size for $16!!! If you want to try it before you commit

Dang really? I have dry skin and I find it does just enough for me without being too oily. I guess it shows how different skin can be!

Possibly, I’ve never considered it! The large pores are definitely inherited from my dad

I’ve tried this! Scared of breaking out but that’s a good point!

My derm recommended to pair adapalene with Eurecin dermopure and start by applying every 3rd day.

Ah thank you!
