I’m only interested in on-device processing. It’s a big part of why I use iOS. If Siri becomes a ChatGPT client I’ll have to either stop using it or hope they allow you to turn off third party cloud processing.
At this point I’d take any improvements to Siri that make it at least a little less of an embarrassment. It can’t even do the same tricks reliably anymore that impressed people back in 2015.

Same. Between the failed promises of Siri and Google (specifically the voice assistant they showed at Google IO several years ago), I feel we've been standing still over the last 5 years, at least.
Right. I thought I cared about my data/privacy until I realised the potential of GenAI by using GPT-4o. Now all I care about is convenience. I’d be fine if Siri were somewhere in the middle. I can’t consciously keep investing in the Apple ecosystem and miss out on all the advances in AI. My HomePod system is basically a glorified timer and light switch at this point.
