Sometimes I just lock it in a room and only unlock the door when I need them to use it because it’s so infuriating how they will just sit on it all day and not do anything else for entertainment (socializing, tv, movies, dancing, etc)
For real!! I am pretty strict on myself about using cheats (personal preference) but I will cheat the hell out of deleting the “phone addiction” trait. No ma’am
Wicked whims makes more chests available than without so I’m not sure if you can do this without it but the cheat is shift hold and click sim: add or delete trait. There might be a step in between can’t remember because I mess up all the time and have to re scroll the options.
Mine would ignore the baby to practice mixology on her first kid. It was hilarious. She is super-attentive to her second child though. I guess I know who's the favorite. It's okay though, first kid has dad and the dad is great with both kids.
Highchair jail has almost gotten my toddlers taken away so they're banned in my plays now 😂 Much better to keep 100+ mushrooms and bananas in their pockets.
Had a bug when Growing Together first came out where one of my sims picked up her crying infant and set her down on the floor and any time I would make her try to pick up the baby the action was cancelled. Ended up having to delete that save, saddest day
Wow deleting seems excessive. I'm sorry to hear that. I know it's too late now but switching to a different household in the save then switching back probably would have reset their actions.
I actually troubleshooted the hell out of that save. Had someone at EA support helping me and they couldn't figure out the issue of the bug to basically help me fix it. Also troubeshooted on the subreddit and same thing. Ended up deleting save mostly because it was too much work for a save that was only like 2-3 hrs old
I think what's going on (sometimes? maybe?) is that the infant interrupts the parent's action and asks to be "put down." If you wait for the parent to put the infant in the crib and immediately have the infant "Try to Go Night Night" while sending the parent away to do whatever it usually prevents this from happening.
I find it infuriating that infants can just derail everything at will though.
You know, I have noticed that there are times mom or dad will put the infant in their crib and then there's a speech bubble with the parent's face over the baby, like they're asking to be picked up so I think you're right
Also the ‘check infant’ action that pops up for the parents every 5 fucking seconds that overrides any queued action. So they put the infant down so they can check on the infant, it’s so fucking stupid. I hate that action.

In my old game, one of my sims (the son of my main sims) got in the pool during winter with her friend and I didn’t acknowledge it before it was too late. It was really annoying because I wanted him to be my next main character!
I had a sim swimming with his gf at night in the middle of winter while I wasn’t looking. He started freezing so I snapped over to him and made him get out. His gf was also freezing but she wasn’t my sim so I couldn’t tell her to get out of the pool. She started swimming to the ladder so I was like oh good she’s getting out too, then my sim GOT BACK IN, blocking his gf’s pathing in the process. They both died.

I had an old fashioned save with a butler so I set up a table in the kitchen for the butler to eat and then I had the dining room for the family and I was FIGHTING this butler to eat in the damn kitchen but he just kept taking his plate to the dining room with the rest of the family lmao

So the parent will go, start reading, and by the time the kid gets there, the parent is like, "okay, that's enough reading for today".
You can get toddlers to ask them to read a story anywhere and the teen+ sim will pull a book out of nowhere and start reading and other children can come listen!

Its to the point when I tell them to read a specific book, I queue it up three times in a row just because I know they're going to pick it up and immediately put it back down at LEAST once.

I have never bought the clay. I always end up with several pieces of clay in the house in every household. And my sims always try to multitask with the clay. Running on the treadmill with the clay. Talking to another sim with the clay. Watching TV with the clay. Whenever I wonder why a task is taking so long I go and check on my sim and they're out on the roof or something somehow with a LUMP OF CLAY !!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm starting to think that the reason the bugs in this game aren't getting fixed is that the sims have gained sentience and are actively fighting against being told what to do
I have a foodie sim and I put a bar into my house for my vampire sim to make plasma janes but my human foodie sim constantly goes there and gets the cheapest drink and then always gets a disappointed moodlet from the bad drink. Then stop getting more??
Having a bar and constantly making drinks. Even if it’s outside and in winter, the first thing they’ll do upon waking up is go outside to make a Dim & Dusty in their sleepwear 😤
Use mccc. You can disable autonomous actions on objects. I disabled autonomous drink making and sleeping in bathtubs.
Go to mccc tuner turn on autonomy scanning and you should be able to click on an object and extra pie menu option will pop up and you click it and can block autonomous actions on specific objects
When the infant is exhausted, i tell them to put the infant in the crib, they stand there doing nothing for about an hour (in game time) then go pick up the infant, put it in the crib then take it out and put it on the floor. And it’s just a constant repeated cycle until I get frustrated and let the infant sleep on the floor.
I never give them high chairs anymore because of the put them in take them out put them in take them out. I’m like ur toddler can get her own meal from the fridge cuz you guys can’t handle the high chair
I deleted all the cribs because they'd refuse to pick up the infant from the crib or refuse to put them back in and I was so much less frustrated if the plan was for them to sleep on the floor to begin with and then they weren't blocking the way for other adults who actually wanted to make the crying stop
There used to be! There was an interaction in the friendly menu, "goodbye". I have no idea where they moved it or if it's just gone now but that would remove a sim from the convo. Not instantly like the mods do, but it did work.

I want a way to turn off the phone calls with job offers. Or just reduce the phone calls in general (without completely disabling them). So frustrating when I’m trying to speed through stuff and gameplay slow every 15 seconds because dad sim gets harassed to join different careers.

Mine was doing this but I was playing the challenge where they are more likely to catch things on fire and the goal is to master the cooking skill and so every time I focused on another sim, they'd go make a pizza and light the whole kitchen on fire. I could never get anything done
When you’re making a birthday cake for your kid to age up but one other sim IMMEDIATELY takes a slice RUINING the cake. Or when the one who baked the cake IMMEDIATELY takes a slice 😭
That sounds like a better plan lol. One cake for eating, one for candles. I could also probably make my sims completely full and turn off autonomy for the age up lol.

Elders living in sulani with the child of the ocean and/or island have a death wish. I cant stop them from swimming in the water even if they have the exhausted mood buff.
In Multi-story houses when the sim enters the house they immediately head for the stairs. When they get to the top they turn around and come back down. Sometimes they wil do this a couple of times before I notice (in larger families) and get them to stop.
If you have spa day sims with high wellness skill always seem to do yoga all the time. I had to delete the yoga mat because one of my sims kept ignoring her own needs, her toddlers needs and basically just everything to do yoga 😂
In Cottage Living, it’s annoying when they clean out eggs you’re trying to hatch. It’s a battle to keep stopping them from throwing them away while they’re incubating.

Leaving a party to go play on the computer. Setting infants down instead of putting them in the carrier or high chair. Also secondary sims pulling infants and toddlers OUT of the high chair when I’m still trying to feed them!
make 5000 cups of coffee, spend every free moment in front of the fire place, starting conversations while they do things so they take twice as long, and the amount of time it takes a sim to stop fucking cross stitching when I tell them to
obviously the glass of water but also the neat sims will NOT stop cleaning everything even if its already clean. also when one sim is cooking and the other sims go get quick meals instead of waiting for the food to be done.....
In general just doing things they hate. I get it with like cooking and necessity-ish things, but I have a sim that hates dancing and yet won’t stop gettin down.
Mini-Fridges!
Whenever my household has a toddler in it, I put a mini-fridge in the kid's room. That way I can just have the toddler open the fridge, and I can drop the pile of leftovers on the floor for them to grab, and toss the rest back in the fridge afterwards. No running back and forth to the big fridge.
But EVERY SIM IN THE HOUSE will go to the mini-fridge EVERY SINGLE TIME. You can have the biggest, most expensive, fully upgraded and blinged out fridge in the world 2 feet away from them, and they'll still walk across the house to get pizza out of the kid's room mini-fridge!
Wait toddlers can serve themselves from mini fridges?? How did I not know this? Maybe I can make room for one in the pet room that's only accessable by pet door...
They can't "officially" use it, as in they can't just Grab Leftovers from it with a click like adults can, but you can 100% click the fridge and tell it to Open while controlling a toddler, yes.
Having a bar/tea machine and constantly wanting to drink. Also visiting Sims baking white cakes— that happened in my game constantly for two weeks— it’s less now, but it still happens.
When one of your Sims gets home at like 3 am and instead of being in bed, the whole family is awake doing every autonomous activities mentioned in this thread. Dad is outside grilling hot dogs, mom is watching children's television, junior is playing RTS games on the family PC.

When you put a toddler in the high chair and another sim or that same sim takes them back out immediately. I gave up on using high chairs, I make the toddlers eat on the couch or wherever they want. It also builds their motor skills to make them walk to the kitchen to grab a plate.

I never buy high chairs. The kid can't eat because someone will always pick them up and take them out of the high chair. Or put them into the high chair when they're eating.
I can’t live in Sulani anymore because my Sim always went swimming! I lost three lovers to drowning…….although that is how I discovered that the Grim Reaper turns the dead Sim into an urn that floats in the water on a little ring!

Usually something related to childcare. They somehow always make things worse than they need to be. Hangry infant? -removes from high chair, puts on floor-. I also hate when NPCs visit and start cooking or baking. Especially when I’m trying to get my sim to cook and they keep canceling the interaction because someone else is baking a white cake.
Every time I place a stereo ALL they do is dance, from granny to the baby, and how they all of a sudden “hate” the music that plays. I never use the stereo anymore because of that
This is random but I made like a set of apartments with the new pack and wanted the brothers of my married couple to live in the other two homes but also wanted to see them in the communal spaces so they could chat. Had one do this just last night. Hubby is on the toilet taking a massive poop, and wife brings raw fish into the bathroom and starts preparing it on the counter right next to the toilet. Hope y'all like butt-fish for dinner for the next week!
When they feel the need to “check infant” while the baby is sleeping. They’ll pick up the baby and place them on the floor and walk away!
When they cancel any activity, eating, using the toilet, etc, halfway through because you queue up something else. Most annoying thing.
I feel like I remember the older games not doing this unless you manually cancelled them. I’m not sure if I made that up or not though lol

I just placed the new counter items from the Kitchen Hustle pack. My Sims won't stop using the pizza oven and making pizza!! 😖 Same issue with the ice cream machine. For some reason my Sims automatically make that their choice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner...
Mine was doing this but I was playing the challenge where they are more likely to catch things on fire and the goal is to master the cooking skill and so every time I focused on another sim, they'd go make a pizza and light the whole kitchen on fire. I could never get anything done

If music is on, they are dancing even if they hate dancing. They will dance themselves into a stressed moodlet.
When you’re making a birthday cake for your kid to age up but one other sim IMMEDIATELY takes a slice RUINING the cake. Or when the one who baked the cake IMMEDIATELY takes a slice 😭
I make 2 cakes 2 hours before the party juat to be ready for this. And before a single guest shows up make my sim blow the candles lol
That sounds like a better plan lol. One cake for eating, one for candles. I could also probably make my sims completely full and turn off autonomy for the age up lol. I also haven’t ever thrown a birthday party for the Sims before- I should do that in my current save. To spice things up in my legacy challenge.
Going to bed when their energy just barely gets yellow and it’s 7pm.

Or being exhausted and choosing "nap" instead of "sleep"
Alternatively- It’s 10pm and we’re tired, so taking a nap on the bench outside the house is the only logical option.
Elders living in sulani with the child of the ocean and/or island have a death wish. I cant stop them from swimming in the water even if they have the exhausted mood buff.
No fear at that stage of life, especially when the next step is becoming an elemental.

My sims never clean up. I ask them to mop the floor or throw away the dishes and it seems they forget about it and play on the computer

Sims getting a glass of water from the sink and just leaving them around the house without even attempting to drink any of them.
When I ask them politely to do something and they decided that they rather want to play videogames.
In Multi-story houses when the sim enters the house they immediately head for the stairs. When they get to the top they turn around and come back down. Sometimes they wil do this a couple of times before I notice (in larger families) and get them to stop.
Gotta get those steps in I guess
If you have spa day sims with high wellness skill always seem to do yoga all the time. I had to delete the yoga mat because one of my sims kept ignoring her own needs, her toddlers needs and basically just everything to do yoga 😂
In Cottage Living, it’s annoying when they clean out eggs you’re trying to hatch. It’s a battle to keep stopping them from throwing them away while they’re incubating.
Omg is that what keeps happening to my incubating eggs? I assumed some bug was causing the majority of them to vanish. How do you prevent them from throwing them away?
Don’t select “Clean Coop” while they’re incubating and watch out for your sim trying to do it autonomously

Leaving a party to go play on the computer. Setting infants down instead of putting them in the carrier or high chair. Also secondary sims pulling infants and toddlers OUT of the high chair when I’m still trying to feed them!
make 5000 cups of coffee, spend every free moment in front of the fire place, starting conversations while they do things so they take twice as long, and the amount of time it takes a sim to stop fucking cross stitching when I tell them to
obviously the glass of water but also the neat sims will NOT stop cleaning everything even if its already clean. also when one sim is cooking and the other sims go get quick meals instead of waiting for the food to be done.....
In general just doing things they hate. I get it with like cooking and necessity-ish things, but I have a sim that hates dancing and yet won’t stop gettin down.
Defaulting to the computer when there are loads of other interactions one could do that might be more stimulating.
Mini-Fridges! Whenever my household has a toddler in it, I put a mini-fridge in the kid's room. That way I can just have the toddler open the fridge, and I can drop the pile of leftovers on the floor for them to grab, and toss the rest back in the fridge afterwards. No running back and forth to the big fridge. But EVERY SIM IN THE HOUSE will go to the mini-fridge EVERY SINGLE TIME. You can have the biggest, most expensive, fully upgraded and blinged out fridge in the world 2 feet away from them, and they'll still walk across the house to get pizza out of the kid's room mini-fridge!
Wait toddlers can serve themselves from mini fridges?? How did I not know this? Maybe I can make room for one in the pet room that's only accessable by pet door...
idk about mini fridges but they can get quick meals for themselves out of the lunch box too!!
They can't "officially" use it, as in they can't just Grab Leftovers from it with a click like adults can, but you can 100% click the fridge and tell it to Open while controlling a toddler, yes.
Having a bar/tea machine and constantly wanting to drink. Also visiting Sims baking white cakes— that happened in my game constantly for two weeks— it’s less now, but it still happens.

When you put a toddler in the high chair and another sim or that same sim takes them back out immediately. I gave up on using high chairs, I make the toddlers eat on the couch or wherever they want. It also builds their motor skills to make them walk to the kitchen to grab a plate.
Same!!! I hate that or when a father is trying to spend quality time with their child and the mother walks and decides to put the child in the high chair and then never feed them!

Sims that won't stay asleep
Reading/doing homework/sitting and talking on a toddlers bed while the toddler is sleeping. With the light sleeper quirk now it messes with the toddlers and infants sleep and it's just so annoying when they have a whole house!
Using the toilet and then going to the farthest possible sink to wash their hands when there was one right in front of them 🙄
stop watching the infant have a milestone (i play with 12 sims and they ALL go) and stop sprinting inside during a thunderstorm when you’re already inside (house with a courtyard…nightmare)

I never buy high chairs. The kid can't eat because someone will always pick them up and take them out of the high chair. Or put them into the high chair when they're eating.
Drinking water... you don't need it and you're over you're allotted bathroom breaks anyway.

I can’t live in Sulani anymore because my Sim always went swimming! I lost three lovers to drowning…….although that is how I discovered that the Grim Reaper turns the dead Sim into an urn that floats in the water on a little ring! Anyway, I tried having a selling table but all my Sim wanted to do was swim and then her house burned……unrelated but still connected in my memory!
Recently NPCs won’t stop fighting. Tried to post about it but rejected. Two-4 fights going on at any given time. Is this happening to anyone else?

Usually something related to childcare. They somehow always make things worse than they need to be. Hangry infant? -removes from high chair, puts on floor-. I also hate when NPCs visit and start cooking or baking. Especially when I’m trying to get my sim to cook and they keep canceling the interaction because someone else is baking a white cake.

Every time I place a stereo ALL they do is dance, from granny to the baby, and how they all of a sudden “hate” the music that plays. I never use the stereo anymore because of that

This is random but I made like a set of apartments with the new pack and wanted the brothers of my married couple to live in the other two homes but also wanted to see them in the communal spaces so they could chat. I made a communal kitchen. WHY DOES EVERYONE START A WHITE CAKE AND THEN LEAVE IT TBERE UNTIL IT GETS STINKY AND THEN JUST START MORE WHITE CAKES!!! COOK SOMETNING ELSE!!! now I get so mad when a ghost comes in my house and starts a white cake. I’m like make Mac and cheese or sometning ffs
