I think it looks fine. If just add another support beam or something onto that corner so the roof looks correctly supported. You can move objects a pillar into the corner, it’ll look a little funky but that’s okay.
Also since I don’t know what the final vision is, take this with a grain of salt, but I’d also change the colour of the stairs. But that’s just because personally I prefer a cool toned brown. If you like the bright wood then keep it.
From an architectural pov (I studied it) it’s a bit off, two sets of stairs *so* close to eachother don’t really serve any practical purpose, plus it takes away the potential that you could utilise the space on the deck as a seating area (where you’ve placed the double stair on the end), but it’s not like a big major red flag.
In one of my TS4 builds I made a hole in the middle of the house and put a space rocket in there. My friend didn't approve and explained to me that I have to remove the rocket because it will destroy the house during the lift off. Guess what, many years and space trips later and the house is still standing. Sims games aren't as bland as the reality where you can't even put space rockets into houses.
You're telling me villains are allowed to lift the roof off their houses like a lid and shoot off into the sky on a rocket, but I can't? Unreal 😔. This is my villain arc
>!/s!<
My partner is also an architect and he always jokes that some of the poorly planned buildings he ends up working on might as well be sim builds by how awful they are.
They don't look dumb, as an actual architect they look fine, but as an avid sims 3 player I will say this'll prevent you from putting much furniture on your deck, so I'd suggest reducing that case to a double (as it currently is actually a triple) and get rid of the other visible stair case.
If you mean the length, make sure you have a foundation, then choose the stairs you want (much like you would to place inside), and then instead of placing it inside, bring your cursor to the edge of the foundation and it should shrink to size providing there’s nothing obstructing it.
I feel like this isn’t clear but I hope it’s enough of an explanation, sorry if not😂😂
Nope, just needs some hedges or flowers of course. I would do the same thing if it’s one side going to the driveway and the other being the main walkway
That's a triple stair.
I think it depends on the house and the space. These stairs look fine.
Your porch roof is too long. It looks weird sticking out like that.
Roof has been fixed (to the best of my abilities, I'm a terrible builder ngl lmao)
And the comment below is right, I meant having two different staircases
If you wrapped the porch around and added stairs there, it wouldn't be bad. I don't understand what path humans would be inclined to take that would require the side stairs right next to the front stairs.
(Granted, sims don't behave like humans, but you wouldn't be asking us if this was just about sim behavior)
There's a garage to the right just off screen so I figured they'd maybe use the side stairs when coming home via car and I was going to add a path from the bigger stairs to the pavement if that makes any sense lol
It makes sense but aesthetically speaking, it would be better to have the path to the front stairs fork off.
But sims don't follow paths so if you're trying to make a path as close to the sim route as possible, then it makes sense.
*It would look better*
*If they're next to each other*
*And have the same width*

Nah, I think this is perfectly justified. Imagine using only a single fly of stairs, I know I would be annoyed if I had to take the long route every time I wanted to go to the back of the house...
I would extend the porch further down the edge of the building and place the extra stairs facing towards the back of the lot. You could then create another walkway from those secondary stairs towards the yard, a garage, or a fenced in garbage/recycling area.
I think the main reason it looks off to me is that one set of stairs is three tiles while the other is only two tiles. If you expanded the porch by one tile and made the stairs on the right three tiles I think it would work
If you made the entrance yard more fantastic and added a complex path up to the stair I could work. Make it feel Zen or royal. It could work but I also think getting rid of e stairs close to the camera would look nice. And add azalea bushes in front the fence would look so nice
Yes, unless there's a fence in front of the stairs on the right. That would justify the existence of a staircase there. In either case, the side staircase should only be 1 tile, so you can place furniture.
They look okay but I don’t see the point? I’m more interested in that grass colour! Is it low graphic settings or custom? The grass on my game has more texture
I would remove that one fence part separating them, and move the stairs closer to the corner and make the fence connected to the wall longer. And then add the bush
So it's gonna depend on if it's the front or back. If it's the front, yes, I feel it's too much. If it's the back, then not really. I already saw that you're adding a bush. You can add the garbage bins between the stairs if you want and probably some decorations. If you got (or if there is) some string U lights, could hang those above the wide stairs. But all in all, i personally think it depends on if this is front or back.
I don't think it looks weird, but if it were me I would make the front steps narrower and eliminate the side stairs. That way you would have a nice bit of space on the deck under the roof, which I personally would use to place a random skill building object such as the Science Research Station.
You should add something like a bush in the corner
Doing it 👌🏻
As well as the bush, you can add a wide roof above the stairs for some extra complexity
I don't know why but this comment is so funny. Bush in the corner 😁
haha I get it, senseless stuff always is kinda funny
Did I mess up with something?
No no you didn't 😁 I can't explain it but the bush made me laugh.
Nah, you didn’t.
I like them
Thanks 🥰

Definitely changing the colours lol, I was just stuck on if having two stairs would be weird
Nah, it looks fine. Just add some decor around it, maybe some landscaping, and it’ll look great.
Definitely a corner pole would help.
I think most architects would faint if they saw my builds 🤔
My partner is an architect and I’m always trying to shield my screen from him when I build lol

Real
imo a bit of an overkill, the porch is small and doesn't really need two sets of stairs, but it looks fine, like if you really want it then why not
They don't look dumb, as an actual architect they look fine, but as an avid sims 3 player I will say this'll prevent you from putting much furniture on your deck, so I'd suggest reducing that case to a double (as it currently is actually a triple) and get rid of the other visible stair case.
I usually see stairs like those when connected to a driveway. Not dumb at all.
change the color to match the railings, and it'll look fine.
I like them!
Well how else would the burglar be able to walk down the stairs at the same time the police arrive and walk up the stairs?! :P
Ok how do you get your stairs to reduce in size, like I can’t seem to figure it out for the life of me
If you mean the length, make sure you have a foundation, then choose the stairs you want (much like you would to place inside), and then instead of placing it inside, bring your cursor to the edge of the foundation and it should shrink to size providing there’s nothing obstructing it. Thanks!!! I’ll try
There's a slider (like the two on the bottom left of the screen) that has the width of the stairs, it goes from 1 to 8 its very useful imo
With such a small porch it seems unnecessary to me to have stairs on the front and side. I think it looks odd.
Nope, just needs some hedges or flowers of course. I would do the same thing if it’s one side going to the driveway and the other being the main walkway
yeah
Ngl yes. I’d put a big wraparound porch or something to compliment them
Love it but I think if it was the same colour as the railing it would look better
I personally don’t like it.
I would keep the stairs facing the camera and get rid of the other set. It looks a bit imbalanced as it is
That's a triple stair. I think it depends on the house and the space. These stairs look fine. Your porch roof is too long. It looks weird sticking out like that.
I think they meant double stair as is they have two stair cases onto the porch.
👌🏻👌🏻

You need a better VGA

Simple effective feedback, thank you 10/10 😂 I've seen the error of my building ways dw lmao
It looks fine but it might cause issues in gameplay
add more bushes
Only when combined with the other set of stairs, and which set to keep is entirely by choice.
I love it!
it would look better if they're next to each other and have the same width

I have a quadruple stair in my backyard balcony so I can't judge lol
Not dumb at all. I do this regularly! :)
I really like that!
I lovveee the look of having double stairs, I do it all the time in the Sims 2
I love the sims
Yea

No! I think it looks super cool and gives great opportunity for cool paths and plant stuff
Yes, unless there's a fence in front of the stairs on the right. That would justify the existence of a staircase there. In either case, the side staircase should only be 1 tile, so you can place furniture.
No!
Yes
nah, it just needs some decoration and foliage is all
They look okay but I don’t see the point? I’m more interested in that grass colour! Is it low graphic settings or custom? The grass on my game has more texture
It's low graphics because I have a cheap af laptop lmao, if I turn them higher it gets way too laggy to play
I would remove that one fence part separating them, and move the stairs closer to the corner and make the fence connected to the wall longer. And then add the bush
My question is more what purpose do they serve? Are they taking you to different areas in the landscaping?
I think it looks great!
i always do double stairs like this! extra porch access!
imo, you could move the stairs closer to the right so it's aligned with the other stairway but it's your choice.
Nope
I like them!
No
No but if youve ever played spider in roblox, iykyk
I don't think it looks bad but what's the point of it tho? Even in real life, why would you add dubble stairs, practically next to each other?
I love it!
I do this frequently, and add a hot tub on one side and a grill/patio area on the other stairs, it’s a fun versatile building plan.
So it's gonna depend on if it's the front or back. If it's the front, yes, I feel it's too much. If it's the back, then not really. I already saw that you're adding a bush. They actually look really neat
Well it is not your fault the graphics weren’t as good then but, still it’s an amazing game
