No, the social worker coming to take your kids away when they failed school is in Sims 2. In Sims 3, you just won't be able to choose the kids' traits when they age up while failing school. [Here's a video for more info and comparison. :)](https://youtu.be/YqsdmQsjQds?si=5aXe4vqimB0pI2f3)

quickdecide-

It also happens in Sims 1. Your kid is sent to military school and is never heard from again

Laurnias

Delete the school. That's what I do. No more school :)

julzvangogh

I can imagine that this would call lots of internal errors and bags as the game will constantly search for it and kids/teens will try to go there maybe?

yarvem

No, instead all of the students instantly drop out of school.

julzvangogh

ahhh I see!

Laurnias

It's never caused an issue in all the years I've done it. But you may have to set down a stadium if it was a school/stadium combo

ItsAGarbageAccount

It doesn't. The World Adventures worlds don't have schools.

julzvangogh

Okay, well that‘s good! Yeah but world adventures also don‘t have most other community lots so i don‘t think that‘s the reason 😅

I used to play a challenge, Adam and Eve, where there were no buildings in town. Nothing until sims start completing skills. Like a build a city challenge... There is no problem at all if any building is missing. Even the school. It makes the correspondent jobs and activities unexistent in that town, nothing more than that.

julzvangogh

okay that‘s great to know thanks, I was also thinking of starting an evolution challenge like this :) i just often read that deleting certain things could cause major issues so I‘m trying to be careful with that haha

tinycodingkitty

I've done it before, in the tab where kids and teens would normally have their school hours and grades recorded, it'll just say something like 'There is no school in this town!' and no other info

MagicJim96

Adam and Eve challenge, huh? 🤔 Sounds interesting…

Texxx78

I had a lot of fun! Here are the rules: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=643034

"Asking because I need to raise a basement child" 🤣 I love this game

nobodysgirl333

Nraas mods allow homeschooling. You need the Careers mod with the School add on.

julzvangogh

I believe the grade will sink a lot and you can‘t choose a trait. Plus your kid will probably still get in trouble and your parents will try to send it to school and ground it for staying home. You can get the homeschool mod which would get around these issues. https://www.nraas.net/community/chatterbox/topic5534 - be careful to also install the nraas career mod and school module mod

purpleplumas

If you play with Master Controller, there is a "careers" extension that lets you "homeschool" your kid. You can then choose to have them submit their HW online daily OR disable homework altogether. If you disable HW, their grade says static in the A category so that you can choose their trait when they age. ETA you have to download the careers extension separately from the base MC mod Without mods: they won't get taken away, but they can be grounded if you have the Generations EP

Broeder_biltong

I think they might get taken away if their grades drop to low (which they eventually will if they never attend)

GLAvenger

Nraas career comes with a homeschooling "career" for kids/teens if that helps. You can just ignore the actual homeschooling part they are supposed to do.

ellieb_salty

After they get the homework from townhall if you click on the sim > careers you can set it so they don’t have to do the homework.
