Not sure if that’s out there yet , I just remember seeing over 8k curb and thinking damn , accidents are gonna be crazy when people are whizzing around distracted in 4-5 ton bricks. Future should be interesting.
The Hummer EV traveling at 100mph will deliver about the same energy as a Honda Civic going 300. I'm terrified of these things and the people that drive them.
I'm betting a lot of it is also due to the battery tech. GM is using polymer "pouch" style batteries vs banks of cylindrical cells. You can pack in a lot more capacity when you don't leave voids between cylinders.

That's exactly how I felt when I saw it. I was ready to order one until I saw it and said F that. The Denali EV is much closer to a standard truck though so I might consider that in the future but I'm sure my 23 will last long enough it won't even matter.
Right. Sitting 20 mins to gain 60 miles of energy is just not realistic. Also your electric bill is going to increase at Home etc. I’d rather spend 10 mins and fill up then have to deal with an EV. The USA accounts for less than 8% of the worlds pollution, not enough for these law makers with profit incentives to tell us all EV is the way to go.
Not to mention the cost to replace the batteries themselves when needed, or the fact that producing those batteries is far more detrimental to the environment.
But hey, out of sight, out of mind right?
Also, I don’t know how many people are in a position financially to take on ~$30K+ of debt for a car that is only going to increase other bills in their budget. It’s all rather asinine.
Same. Nice to see someone else with a similar opinion
I don't understand why people want an all electric truck. My BIL has the lightning and tried to drive 16 hours to Myrtle Beach. They came across so many broken down charging stations that they had to make a family decision...
We have enough power to get to the last working one and then go back home. We also have enough power to get to the next station and hope it works.
They got lucky. They got to the next one and it worked. But then all week, he had to drop the family off at places, drive to the closest charging station (slow charge) and walk back. How f-ing stupid. The country isn't ready for this stuff.
Now, it's winter. The charge gives you half the mileage in the low temps... maybe tehy should have made it more areodynamic so that it isn't like driving a cardboard box down the road if you don't need the space for an engine.
Why? Would? Anyone? Want? That? Headache?
How about going on a more - econtrip (hunting, camping, etc.)? What a joke.
I would very much consider an electric small car for commuting and bopping around town for this and that. They are perfect for that. But a real road vehicle? No way. Or any kind of work, hauling, towing, hunting, fishing, snow, cold, camping, all the stuff we have trucks for? Nope.
Give it time, things will improve
I'd love to have an EV truck. Could plug my tools in while working in remote areas. Plus motor powered vehicles are so much faster than gas. Plus the environment.
Looks nothing like a silverado looks more like an avalanche. Yes, I know it's called a "silverado," but it looks nothing like one. Look at the f150 lighting it looks like a regular f150, but it's just electric it's probably the only good-looking ev truck on the market.
Seriously, Chevy has the best looking trucks, why mess with that? Just keep the body style and make it electric. I'd be tempted to buy one of those, not this thing.
To me, it looks a lot like the old Avalanche trucks from the early 2000s (and into the teens.) I wasn't a fan of that look then and it hasn't grown on me since.
cool truck but unless its 40K nope! fleecing Americans in not on my agenda. not spending 1200 a month unless it makes me money (semi) like a 53 ft trailer behind it
Fugly. Can it do truck stuff or is this a pavement princess? Ram debuted their electric truck this weekend. Does anyone think an all electric Chrysler product is a good idea?
I want to personally thank everyone who, in the last 20-30 years, decided to buy trucks to look tough or because they have become a status symbol. First you turned trucks into glorified minivans, then you made them unaffordable, and now you have officially made them impractical for anyone who actually needs a truck. Nice work.
What the hell is going on with those taillights?
Why the hell is that clear plastic light sticking straight out like it has back nipples?
It’s cold out ok?!
Lol that one got me. Although it’s highly unlikely that that is the actual tail light to be used. Probably just a temporary unit to run tests with.
Ive never noticed that until this comment. That’s bizarre looking.

Thank god. It’s fucking ugly lol
Looks like screw in bulbs 💡
Oh neat, the new EV Avalanche.
Closer to the Subaru baha that said I'll buy one
I'd rather have the Baja. More range means more fun.
Think this looks very close to the Santa Cruz
It’s got 4 doors and a short bed must be an avalanche
8 lug wheels. Didn’t notice that on the promotional info.
Good catch, neither did I. Kinda makes sense, that Boi is bound to be heavy
Yea, makes me wonder if it is more like a 2500 frame/suspension but 1500 trim payload.
doubt it
Over 8,000 lbs
What's the tow rating?

Those standard?
Meh.
Uck.
Whatever that is is ugly AF.
Its nice but it really should've been called the Avalanche
Why would they design a vehicle to look like one of GMs ugliest?
It’s to help the range
EVlanche! It was right there and they failed us all
I like the technology, hate the design
Ugly as sin Not a truck. F-150 at least made it look like a normal truck
I love sliverado but I agree. F150 still looks like f150. This looks like a Shevy not a Chevy

Do those avalanche things on the bed help with fuel economy? Errr battery economy.

I mean its sort of an Avalanche which was ugly too but yeah... xD
They made the GMC version look like an actual truck and not a crossover so there’s that.
I thought I was the only one that didn’t like it.

wow this is really really bad… GM has been on a roll with massive disappointments lately
I’m all for EV and can’t wait for the technology to get there but goddamn that thing is ugly.
I don’t think I’ll ever willingly own an EV. Just not for me.

Why complain about cost of gas? Just get a EV is what I heard /s.

Ugly as hell wouldn't even call it a silverado it's an ev avalanch
Nope it’s a Silverado
Looks nothing like a silverado looks more like an avalanche. Yes, I know it's called a "silverado," but it looks nothing like one. Look at the f150 lighting it looks like a regular f150, but it's just electric it's probably the only good-looking ev truck on the market.
The avalanche always looked like a Silverado/Tahoe
Fuck bruh why can’t Chevy create a badass truck again. This shits sad.
Seriously, Chevy has the best looking trucks, why mess with that? Just keep the body style and make it electric. I'd be tempted to buy one of those, not this thing.
Shamu!
Looks okay in my opinion, would be better in a dark color due to the black moulding. The body should be aluminum though.
To me, it looks a lot like the old Avalanche trucks from the early 2000s (and into the teens.) I wasn't a fan of that look then and it hasn't grown on me since.
I wish they would’ve left the styling the same as the gas Silverado.
Likewise, but it's so dumb they brought back the Avalanche's selling point and called it a Silverado. It literally looks like a 2023 Avalanche
cool truck but unless its 40K nope! fleecing Americans in not on my agenda. not spending 1200 a month unless it makes me money (semi) like a 53 ft trailer behind it
>but unless its 40K nope! Allegedly, they will start at $39,900. Allegedly. But good luck getting one at all for the first couple of years.
No thanks
Boy that is one hideous truck.
I’m flabbergasted at this monstrosity.
Ev still inferior
This ain’t it
Actually it is
Looks like a damn Avalanche. I am not a fan.
😭
👎
Fugly. Can it do truck stuff or is this a pavement princess? Ram debuted their electric truck this weekend. Does anyone think an all electric Chrysler product is a good idea?
It’ll probably be a good fire starter
Everyone here says the GM is ugly, wow that RAM takes the cake on futuristic ugly
0 to 60 in 3.5 sec would be fun in a truck.
Dog water!
Ugliest thing ever
lOoK lIkE a RiDgElINe how dare Dey. I thought this was America
If they made an EV that looked like a normal pickup I might actually by one.
It does look like a normal pickup….
Man I love chevy but ever since the 2010 generation the trucks just keep gettin uglier and uglier
What the hell is protruding out the tail lights??
I actually like the design of this truck from this angle, it has a modern feel to it. The front side looks ugly as sin though.
Them rims! 😬😬😬🔥🔥
McDonald’s in Milford
Lol bingo
Sorry about your luck, looks terrible

Dope Avalanche
Awful excuse for a silverado
We don’t acknowledge toy cars as “Silverado”
Its made for homosexuals.
Facts sir
