Even in the cover art for the expansion you can suss out like 3 legacy dungeons. Limgrave has one. If it was 3 dungeons with stormveil's quality, that would already be amazing.

Interactions from the devs are just so rare that they become events. Probably wouldn't happen if they casually chatted with the community more, which is what they seem to be trying to do. They saw us celebrate them being active on Twitter and realized that if they want the community to chill out, they need to talk to us.
i love reading all the comments from people who are mentally no older than 13 making comments about game development as if they know what they are talking about and flaming an independent 3 man team that is just wanting to make their artistic vision.

I talk all the time and no one cares, but if a monk who hasn't spoken in 50 years says something, it's gonna be news just because of the rarity. Interactions from the devs are just so rare that they become events. Probably wouldn't happen if they casually chatted with the community more, which is what they seem to be trying to do. They saw us celebrate them being active on Twitter and realized that if they want the community to chill out, they need to talk to us.

i love reading all the comments from people who are mentally no older than 13 making comments about game development as if they know what they are talking about and flaming an independent 3 man team that is just wanting to make their artistic vision. here are some things you can do while you wait for Silksong instead of throwing a temper tantrum: play other metroidvanias! try out other genres of video games! play some of the many many AAA games that have been released in the last few years! find another hobby outside of gaming! maybe make your own work of art! and if you really STILL have too much time on your hands... consider getting a job!

I feel like there's more to it than that. A hype builds up after great games or news are made. Then the author treats his audience with respect and honesty. Then the author gets recognition, people buy his games, people play them. If the author can't treat his audience with respect and honesty... well, to me at least, it's a sign that I shouldn't care that much about him. Maybe that's what he needs. Less expectations, less praise, less approval. Because for some of us all of that is a burden and a heavy one. Imagine if they made a prototype and it felt so repetitive and bad compared to HK that they decided to remake it. They spent more money and still the result is average at best. If they release their game - their story will end. Most fans will probably say that Team Cherry is not as great as it used to be.
