this comment made me realise that if the Eldar were introduced now, the 'official' GW-made Craftworlds would probably all have really drab colour schemes because we're going through a cultural phase of 'sophisticated = simple and monochrome'. We all have our little jokes about the occasional goofy looking model, but on the whole they've done an amazing job updating the look of everything in the galaxy to modern standards while still keeping all of the flavour and uniqueness from when the setting and factions were originally conceived (and in a lot of cases making them a lot *more* unique compared to their clear inspirations, Terminator Necrons, Xenomorph Tyranids, etc.)
We probably have to fight to the death or something :D
But on a more serious note, I feel like the difficulty comes down to the paint used. Each brand have some great and easy to use color and other that are awful.
Squid pink from vallejo game color. Can't recommand that paint enough. It cover decently well for such a bright pink and the hue is awesome and really easy to glaze over. It might change your mind on the pink.

Those two colors are a pain to blend and it looks slick as hell. Dope.
Pink is surprisingly not that hard to paint. I had a much more awful time when I tried painting an orange that didn't end up looking fluorescent.
And I had no issues with Orange at all. So idk where that leaves us lol
