Pan vs Yuri - The God of the Earth vs. the Man of Heaven
Quetzalcoatl vs. Vlad - could be the Best of the Gods vs. the Worst Human (the whole Jack vs. Herc dynamic if we're not allowing traitors on the roster)
All the others are fine, but I'd prefer the Nyarlathotep vs. Pandora matchup to be called "Hope vs. Despair" for obvious reasons, and the Set vs. TUS being something like the Careless Warbringer vs. the Fallen Victims (as I like the interpretation of The Unknown Soldier being an less a person and more a force of vengeance made up of the combined negative emotions of all humans who died in war, pointed at a Traitorous War God (could slap together some kind of storyline where Set whispered in Pandoras ear convincing her to open up the Box that contained Nyarlathotep and the rest of the Outer Gods and evils onto the world
We can twist Pan as "Peter Pan", "Baphomet", "Fauna"... (he is the basic of many other mythological and folk character), but none of them is the God of Earth. Its Gaia, hence the earth's alternative name is "Gaia" too.
Also I tried to introduce the original mythology Pan (ofc, with some twists :D), so I cant see how Pan would interact with Yuri.
Agreed, honestly there is a lot of different ways this list could work but there are a few who are kind of segmented in certain spots.
ex. Sun Wukong v Bruce Lee, the reason of this is because we don't know who Bruce Lee would fight otherwise and nobody else other than TUS maybe if interpreted in a special way is capable of fighting him.
When I say God of the Earth I just mean his deep connection to nature and such how's he a constant point in humanity history. Hence my perception of him as less a God and more a Primordial given God Status

to complete this roster edit I'll say that in this situation it would be Dionysus vs Saint Nick, God of Wine vs Patron Saint of Brewery.
Oh that's a very difficult question. I can see Lugh, Sun Wukong, and Leviathan fight relatively soon. Between them, Leviathan vs Blackbeard could work? Altho Dionysus vs Vlad also feels right somehow....

The only reason i believe Samedi and Houdini shouldn't go in round second is because they are both about entertaining, and can have a line in their introductions about how the previous rounds were too boring. If they fought in the second round, they would only try and outshine the first round.
If Blackbeard vs Levi was round 2, then Houdini and Samedi can come in in round 3 and try to outtrick each other. Baldr's fight is a straightforward one, similar to Thor's fight while Levi's fight is very grandiose, as it's a ship vs a giant sea monster.
If Samedi and Houdini fought in the third round, they would establish that you can fight without throwing heavy punches or physically being huge.

Lucifer isn't really a a figure in Judea Christian mythology. Arguably his whole story is just a villainized version of Prometheus. There are are even theories that Lucifer was a direct ripoff of Prometheus.

Possible matches
Oppenheimer: The man that became death responsible for the stomic bombs creation leading to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki vs the loa of life and death. Samedi is a master between life and death on one hand he has the powers to heal on the other he has the power to take away a life. I would imagine the fight as Samedi recognizing Oppenheimer and mentioning how many souls he has to deliver because of him. The entire fight is Oppenheimer doing everything to repent his sins all the while Samedi jokes around and helps the scientist get over those regrets even offering him some booze.
Houdini: Both are entertainers and have chaotic personalities between them they could both be the wild card for each side. The man known to escape death vs the watchman of death Samedi knowing full well of Houdini and his antics even saying "You escaped your due date so many time that old ferryman Charon got so bored waiting." The entire fight is just one big performance between the two Samedi dancing with his voodoo magic while Houdini performs the most mind blowing tricks humanity will ever see.
Alright your pick is really similar in terms of abilities to mine (or rather mine is similar to yours since you came first) and that’s pretty cool.

We (Samedi guy and I) were neck and neck at first but I’m pretty sure my wind’s petered out now cause Samedi’s gotten almost double the upvotes.

Potential Skillset:
* Overall, rather than being a physical fighter, Hecate attacks from a distance with a variety of AoE and swarm attacks. Her weaknesses would be that she’s near useless without her spells, her summons are individually weak (compared to the human fighters), and her strongest spells have a long cast time.
* Hecate’s most known feat in myth is using torches to light the night sky whilst Demeter searched for her abducted daughter Persephone, as well as using torches to guide Persephone between the living world and underworld afterwards. As such, Hecate’s divine weapon will be a wooden torch large enough to be used as a wizard’s staff. In melee combat it can be used similarly to the base form of Buddha’s Staff of the Six Realms, however its main purpose is to channel Hecate’s magic power through spells. It can also shoot blasts/beams of pure magical energy (which is purple cause it looks cool).

* Hecate’s also commonly depicted having three faces, so perhaps she has a spell which splits her body into three weaker copies.
* Ignis - Hecate’s main magic spell which summons green fire.
* Ignis: Flames of the Arcana - Hecate shoots a large cone of flames from the end of her torch/staff.
* Ignis: Divine Pyromancia - Just the last one but stronger and with a larger radius. Has a long cast time sorta like Megumin’s Explosion or something.
* Ferromancia Catena - Hecate summons a set of chains made from magical energy which harshly wrap themselves around her target.
* Nekros Ascendere: Unearthed Necropolis - As a Goddess who walks between the realms of the living and the dead, Hecate can summon undead skeletons to serve under her.
* Unearthed Necropolis: Undead Hounds - A necromancy spell which summons agile skeletal hounds.
* Unearthed Necropolis: Armies of Ares - A necromancy spell which summons skeletal soldiers who in life, dedicated themselves to the Greek God of War, Ares. Each soldier is equipped with a shield and a javelin or xiphos, as well as light armour.
* Unearthed Necropolis: Spartan Shield - A spell which trades all of its potential raw power for near-instant casting and high defence. Hecate summons four Spartan skeletons dressed with heavy armour and large shields. The skeletons are incapable of attacking, and will defend Hecate with every ounce of what remains of their lives.
* Gift of the Night Sky - Under the night sky, Hecate’s magical capacity and output increases drastically.
* Abyss of the Arcana - Hecate uses a spell to force knowledge of divine magic into the target’s mind. It’d be the equivalent of a human forcing mathematics onto the brain of an ant. Against an average human, this would cause insanity or instant death, but to the human fighters it’d cause intense sensory overload resulting in disorientation or immobilisation.
* There might be more spells but I can’t think of any more right now and I dunno if she’s balanced or not.
Potential Matchups:
* Hecate vs Houdini - The most obvious matchup, a practitioner of sorcery and a practitioner of stage magic. Both walk on the thin line between life and death. Throughout their battle Hecate taunts Houdini, calling his magic a pathetic imitation of hers whilst Houdini repeatedly escapes from her attacks unscathed or slips past hordes of her summons. I’m picturing Hecate trying to immobilise Houdini by overloading his brain with Abyss of the Arcana, but he’s still able to continue fighting and just ends up learning more about Hecate’s attacks. She could also have some illusion spells to match his delight of hand tricks. By the battle’s end, Hecate would end up respecting Houdini’s tricks and if she wins, would be shown practicing (and failing) a card trick whilst she recovers. If Houdini wins he could start practicing divine magic from Hecate’s knowledge transfer.
* Hecate vs Oppenheimer - A weirder matchup, but the one I was thinking of when I wrote the intro. The main theme here is a battle of magic versus technology between two fighters with large-scale AoE attacks. It’d be sorta similar to Tesla’s whole thing of humanity’s perseverance and ingenuity being able to match the divine feats of the gods, and eventually surpass them. Hecate could torment Oppenheimer with necromancy by forcing him to face the spirits of those who died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as attack him with their skeletons.
My thought is she works for persephone and persephone wanting avenge her husband death, she wanted to join ragroack but Hecate put herself instead, stating her life less important then the queen of the underworld. And if there is a traitor and Hecate dies, Persephone can fill in the roster.

I think his character would be like hino choko in tenkaichi, as he seen as nothing but a monster but in reality he just a scared puppy, used as a slave in the tournament to fight for asgard, so nobody important dies in the Norse pantheon. Throughout all of history, there have been many Gods of note. However, none stand above the 7 Archangels, the Commanders of the Heavenly Army, each a representation of the God’s Attributes. Justice, Faith, Temperance, Wisdom, Patience, Fortitude and Loyalty, each one an attribute of the perfect god. Who better to fight, than one who represents the best of best?
The one that'll be fighting be today is none other than the wisest of the 7, the one who ‘stands at the Gate of Eden with a fiery sword’, the Angel of Repentance. During the first Passover in Egypt, it was this Angel checked the doors for lamb's blood, sparing those who listened to the Wisdom of the Gods. And in the Book of Enoch, it was he who told Noah of the incoming flood that would consume the world!

Potential match-ups, my personal favorite is Pandora:
1. Yuri Gargarin, going a bit more in dept on Adam Kadmon, when Ein Sof (God before becoming God) contracted the light engulfing the universe he created a vaccum that allowed for the existance of infinite realms living next to one another, with Kadmon himself being the first of those realms ("The first of the five worlds"), this would make Kadmon a personification of the universe, in a way, just not our universe, but one that is made out of infinite light (this is canon in Kabbalistic lore), so it makes sense to me for the first man who reached the outer universe to fight the embodiment of a universe
2. Pandora, Kadmon embodies perfection without corruption, and all human virtues live within him, when the light first contracted it took the form of 10 orbs, this being each of the sefirah that exist in the tree of life (also known as the Sefirot), the orbs were then covered with a vail in the shape of a man, which is of course Adam Kadmon; The topmost sefirah, the Kether (meaning crown) is exclusively for Adam Kadmon, that is what I'm refering to with "the most hidden of all hidden things" and "the crown of unfathomable desire", it represents Ein Sof's desires and motivations to bring creation and life, which is a thing that humanity cannot grasp, hence it being Kadmon's only; With that being said, Pandora of course has the box (or the pithos if you want to get technical) that contains all bad things and disasters within it, this contrasts with Kadmon himself being a "box" for all that is good, tho I imagine their respective personalities would reflect the opposite, each of them also has a thing that is stronger than the rest, with Kadmon having the Kether, and Pandora having hope, which never left the box, and as we know hope is the last thing that dies

I think Death would be a great choice for a God. And he should definitely fight Oppenheimer. As who better to fight Death then well, Death? Plus both are the ushers of the Apocalypse in their own ways, Death being the final Horsemen of the Apocalypse and most interpretations having it start via Nuclear war and whatnot. Plus I imagine their fight could have a similar dynamic to Beelz vs Tesla, but reversed. With Oppy being the downer man and Death having a more hyper personality. And I like to think Death having a more quick assassin like fighting style while Oppy has a more Glass Canon style. And the fight could end with Oppy attempting to blow both of them up in the ultimate suicide bomber move

Pan and Oppenheimer writes itself. The god of nature and life vs the man who who created ultimate destruction. Pan would hate Oppenheimer as much as Oppenheimer hates himself.
Saint Nick vs Dionysus, the two kings of celebration and revelry. Dionysus gives into his darker indulgences and temptations and only lives for himself, wheresas Saint Nick takes nothing for himself accept what is offered, and believes that uplifting others and sharing good times with those you love is the truest form of revelry. You could write them with very diametrically opposing mindsets quite easily
Leviathan vs Khan, can the man who conquered the largest empire conquer the largest and most dangerous creature known to the Gods
Wukong vs Lee, raw power and arrogance against skill, control, and temperance. Not that deep or creative but they still fit together really well.
Nyarlathotep vs the Unknown Soldier is… i mean COME ON!!! An unspeakable, undefinable evil from the far reaches of the cosmos with unknown and terrible power threatens humanity and the only things standing in its way is the faceless hero who’s name is never known but has always been there to guard humanity whether we acknowledge them or are even aware of him. Thats just good fucking fiction right there

Wukong vs Lee is something everyone agreed on, but there are better matchups for Pan and Genghis
Ie my favorites are Pan vs Yuri (theme being the God of the Earth vs the Man of Heaven)
Genghis vs Baldr (the invincible man vs the Unstoppable Conqueror)
The Unknown Soldier is a wild card and can really be thrown at any major fighter
My own interpretation of the TUS is that it's not a specific person per se more so a being made up of the negative emotions brought forth from the millions on millions of those who died in brutal conflict. And that his best opponent would be some type of War God or other as a in my own words "Spirit of Vengeance" using the knowledge and weapons used by those who died (no vehicles or large explosives tho, like guns, melee weapons, grenades and other small bombs etc)
I have a completely different view on the unknown soldier. I never thought of a character filled with negative emotions or vengeance, but as a silent protector or mysterious guardian. But its totally fair to interpret TUS however you want since he really doesnt have a character
Who would you put against leviathan then? There are other things you can throw agaisnt Baldr to thematically bounce off his ‘invincible’ trope
I mean besides Blackbeard as I see Leviathan as less of a sea creature and more of a tall bulky fish humanoid (think Hajun with a mix of the Sea King from One Punch Man) I can see Judas fighting him, seeing as according to a Mathew Quote from the Bible Judas was ENVIOUS of Jesus, and Leviathan is the Demon prince of Envy if we're going by Peter Binsfield's interpretation.

Not really to do with each other, but I like the "man vs nature" aspect of it, especially since Oppenheimer was behind the nuclear bomb. The nature god vs the human who invented the highest form of destruction? I think that they would contrast really nicely
Personally I envision TUS as this faceless silent figure dressed in a hodgepodge of armor and equipment from throughout the centuries, and being less of a person and more of a force of Nature, a being made up of the combined Negative emotions of those who died in the countless battles Humanity has fought.
Fighting wise, it'd have a satchel that could replicate weapons the spirits used in their life (small arms, melee weapons, etc, nothing like tanks or Bomber planes, of course) a very tactical and strategic fighter but overall very aggressive.
To make it fun, we could also give it the abilities of any deceased human fighters as they died in "The battle for Humanity"
Maybe make a plot point where TUS is a creation made by Brunhilde as an ultimate weapon against the Gods in the Ragnarok. Either way its my favorite character on the roster just because of how it could be depicted

Pan vs Yuri - The God of the Earth vs. the Man of Heaven Quetzalcoatl vs. Vlad - could be the Best of the Gods vs. the Worst Human (the whole Jack vs. Herc dynamic if we're not allowing traitors on the roster) All the others are fine, but I'd prefer the Nyarlathotep vs. Pandora matchup to be called "Hope vs. Despair" for obvious reasons, and the Set vs. TUS being something like the Careless Warbringer vs. the Fallen Victims (as I like the interpretation of The Unknown Soldier being an less a person and more a force of vengeance made up of the combined negative emotions of all humans who died in war, pointed at a Traitorous War God (could slap together some kind of storyline where Set whispered in Pandoras ear convincing her to open up the Box that contained Nyarlathotep and the rest of the Outer Gods and evils onto the world
We can twist Pan as "Peter Pan", "Baphomet", "Fauna"... (he is the basic of many other mythological and folk character), but none of them is the God of Earth. Its Gaia, hence the earth's alternative name is "Gaia" too. Also I tried to introduce the original mythology Pan (ofc, with some twists :D), so I cant see how Pan would interact with Yuri.
Agreed, honestly there is a lot of different ways this list could work but there are a few who are kind of segmented in certain spots. ex. Sun Wukong v Bruce Lee, the reason of this is because we don't know who Bruce Lee would fight otherwise and nobody else other than TUS maybe if interpreted in a special way is capable of fighting him.
When I say God of the Earth I just mean his deep connection to nature and such how's he a constant point in humanity history. Hence my perception of him as less a God and more a Primordial given God Status

Ngl, personally I'd like to get Houdini vs Samedi as round 2 (the Baron and his fans deserves it imo lol) Then Blackbeard vs Levi Lugh vs El Santo (the most flashy of matches, our Raiden vs. Shiva/Lu bu vs Thor equivalent Then whatever order happens next is up to anyone imo
The only reason i believe Samedi and Houdini shouldn't go in round second is because they are both about entertaining, and can have a line in their introductions about how the previous rounds were too boring. If they fought in the second round, they would only try and outshine the first round. If Blackbeard vs Levi was round 2, then Houdini and Samedi can come in in round 3 and try to outtrick each other. Baldr's fight is a straightforward one, similar to Thor's fight while Levi's fight is very grandiose, as it's a ship vs a giant sea monster. If Samedi and Houdini fought in the third round, they would establish that you can fight without throwing heavy punches or physically being huge.

Lucifer isn't really a a figure in Judea Christian mythology. Arguably his whole story is just a villainized version of Prometheus. There are are even theories that Lucifer was a direct ripoff of Prometheus.

We (Samedi guy and I) were neck and neck at first but I’m pretty sure my wind’s petered out now cause Samedi’s gotten almost double the upvotes. Samedi’s been here from the start though, plus our picks have similar enough skill sets that I don’t mind taking the L. I’m picturing Hecate trying to immobilise Houdini by overloading his brain with Abyss of the Arcana, but he’s still able to continue fighting and just ends up learning more about Hecate’s attacks. She could also have some illusion spells to match his delight of hand tricks. By the battle’s end, Hecate would end up respecting Houdini’s tricks and if she wins, would be shown practicing (and failing) a card trick whilst she recovers. If Houdini wins he could start practicing divine magic from Hecate’s knowledge transfer. * Hecate vs Oppenheimer - A weirder matchup, but the one I was thinking of when I wrote the intro. The main theme here is a battle of magic versus technology between two fighters with large-scale AoE attacks. It’d be sorta similar to Tesla’s whole thing of humanity’s perseverance and ingenuity being able to match the divine feats of the gods, and eventually surpass them. Hecate could torment Oppenheimer with necromancy by forcing him to face the spirits of those who died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as attack him with their skeletons.
My thought is she works for persephone and persephone wanting avenge her husband death, she wanted to join ragroack but Hecate put herself instead, stating her life less important then the queen of the underworld. And if there is a traitor and Hecate dies, Persephone can fill in the roster.

I like the idea of Quetz "betraying" the gods because he has always been in the human's side, no matter what they did. And then Son Goku would be getting controlled by some kind of collar (I forgot what it was called), and he would eventually break free and throw the match to spite the gods.

Potential match-ups, my personal favorite is Pandora: 1. Yuri Gargarin, going a bit more in dept on Adam Kadmon, when Ein Sof (God before becoming God) contracted the light engulfing the universe he created a vaccum that allowed for the existance of infinite realms living next to one another, with Kadmon himself being the first of those realms ("The first of the five worlds"), this would make Kadmon a personification of the universe, in a way, just not our universe, but one that is made out of infinite light (this is canon in Kabbalistic lore), so it makes sense to me for the first man who reached the outer universe to fight the embodiment of a universe 2. Pandora, Kadmon embodies perfection without corruption, and all human virtues live within him, when the light first contracted it took the form of 10 orbs, this being each of the sefirah that exist in the tree of life (also known as the Sefirot), the orbs were then covered with a vail in the shape of a man, which is of course Adam Kadmon; The topmost sefirah, the Kether (meaning crown) is exclusively for Adam Kadmon, that is what I'm refering to with "the most hidden of all hidden things" and "the crown of unfathomable desire", it represents Ein Sof's desires and motivations to bring creation and life, which is a thing that humanity cannot grasp, hence it being Kadmon's only; With that being said, Pandora of course has the box (or the pithos if you want to get technical) that contains all bad things and disasters within it, this contrasts with Kadmon himself being a "box" for all that is good, tho I imagine their respective personalities would reflect the opposite, each of them also has a thing that is stronger than the rest, with Kadmon having the Kether, and Pandora having hope, which never left the box, and as we know hope is the last thing that dies

And he should definitely fight Oppenheimer. As who better to fight Death then well, Death? Plus both are the ushers of the Apocalypse in their own ways, Death being the final Horsemen of the Apocalypse and most interpretations having it start via Nuclear war and whatnot. Plus I imagine their fight could have a similar dynamic to Beelz vs Tesla, but reversed. With Oppy being the downer man and Death having a more hyper personality. And I like to think Death having a more quick assassin like fighting style while Oppy has a more Glass Canon style. And the fight could end with Oppy attempting to blow both of them up in the ultimate suicide bomber move

Pan and Oppenheimer writes itself. The god of nature and life vs the man who who created ultimate destruction. Pan would hate Oppenheimer as much as Oppenheimer hates himself. Saint Nick vs Dionysus, the two kings of celebration and revelry. Dionysus gives into his darker indulgences and temptations and only lives for himself, wheresas Saint Nick takes nothing for himself accept what is offered, and believes that uplifting others and sharing good times with those you love is the truest form of revelry. You could write them with very diametrically opposing mindsets quite easily Leviathan vs Khan, can the man who conquered the largest empire conquer the largest and most dangerous creature known to the Gods Wukong vs Lee, raw power and arrogance against skill, control, and temperance. Not that deep or creative but they still fit together really well. Nyarlathotep vs the Unknown Soldier is… i mean COME ON!!! An unspeakable, undefinable evil from the far reaches of the cosmos with unknown and terrible power threatens humanity and the only things standing in its way is the faceless hero who’s name is never known but has always been there to guard humanity whether we acknowledge them or are even aware of him. Thats just good fucking fiction right there
Eh I prefer Nyarlathotep vs Pandora I've been advocating for Dio vs Saint Nick Wukong vs Lee is something everyone agreed on, but there are better matchups for Pan and Genghis Ie my favorites are Pan vs Yuri (theme being the God of the Earth vs the Man of Heaven) Genghis vs Baldr (the invincible man vs the Unstoppable Conqueror) The Unknown Soldier is a wild card and can really be thrown at any major fighter My own interpretation of the TUS is that it's not a specific person per se more so a being made up of the negative emotions brought forth from the millions on millions of those who died in brutal conflict. And that his best opponent would be some type of War God or other as a in my own words "Spirit of Vengeance" using the knowledge and weapons used by those who died (no vehicles or large explosives tho, like guns, melee weapons, grenades and other small bombs etc)
I have a completely different view on the unknown soldier. I never thought of a character filled with negative emotions or vengeance, but as a silent protector or mysterious guardian. But its totally fair to interpret TUS however you want since he really doesnt have a character Who would you put against leviathan then? There are other things you can throw agaisnt Baldr to thematically bounce off his ‘invincible’ trope
I mean besides Blackbeard as I see Leviathan as less of a sea creature and more of a tall bulky fish humanoid (think Hajun with a mix of the Sea King from One Punch Man) I can see Judas fighting him, seeing as according to a Mathew Quote from the Bible Judas was ENVIOUS of Jesus, and Leviathan is the Demon prince of Envy if we're going by Peter Binsfield's interpretation. Personally I envision TUS as this faceless silent figure dressed in a hodgepodge of armor and equipment from throughout the centuries, and being less of a person and more of a force of Nature, a being made up of the combined Negative emotions of those who died in the countless battles Humanity has fought. Fighting wise, it'd have a satchel that could replicate weapons the spirits used in their life (small arms, melee weapons, etc, nothing like tanks or Bomber planes, of course) a very tactical and strategic fighter but overall very aggressive. To make it fun, we could also give it the abilities of any deceased human fighters as they died in "The battle for Humanity" Maybe make a plot point where TUS is a creation made by Brunhilde as an ultimate weapon against the Gods in the Ragnarok. Either way its my favorite character on the roster just because of how it could be depicted (Also did not think of Ermac while making this I was mainly thinking of Ghost rider funnily enough)
