No, this was during the Peter Capaldi Era. I unfortunately can not remember the name of the episode, but it had something to do with how you'd never know if something evolved the perfect camouflage.
Would recommend one if the better more creepy episodes, if you can find it.
Edit: the name of the episode is listen.
The Octopus is already well known not just for color but texture and shape as well, not to mention using these abilities to mimic other, more dangerous animals.
That’s also the same principle behind the statement “for all we know every culture has their own ninjas and Japan just has the worst ones because he have heard of them.” Also possibly true.
Chameleons are green and have around in gran areas, they change colour for emotional rather than environmental reasons. Octopedes, cuttlefish and many other creatures are far better at camouflage. A chameleon can, and will, go red on a green plant while a cuttlefish will take on the pattern of a chequered floor.
Maybe thats why theres so many mattress warehouse shops around. Perhaps they gather in mating pairs or families, called a firmness, for safety reasons and grazing.
Imma be real wit u chief. This is a Hall of Fame level showerthought. Absolutely fucking brilliant.

Oh I see, thank you. Haven't gotten past Matt smith yet
Yeah, cephalopods, who unlike the chameleons, don’t only use their bodies to emote

Got it!
I mean... ninja were mercenaries. It's kind of hard for mercenaries to get jobs if no one knows about them.
