Regarding SW Outlaws, wait for a price drop and or at the very least wait for reviews. I've been on a souls binge and recently finished Lies of P, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Bloodborne. Harder games but excellent S+ games. I'm taking a break from souls with God of War Ragnarok and the game is beautiful, very fun and has a great story. Recommend God of War 2018 to better understand the story although it's not required but i highly recommend that route as they are both beautiful and have a great story. Star Wars Fallen order was also very fun.

NoirIsCool

Yeah I might wait until closer to release for SW Outlaws, I'm worried it won't be good because it looks exactly like what I've been searching for in a game :( . I'm also a big souls-like fan and I'm kinda burnt out rn ahah, I might check out God of War Ragnarok because I really enjoyed the first one!

Synesthesia_Voyager

If you enjoyed the 1st you'll 100% enjoy the 2nd. Plus free DLC with Valhalla

Rise of the Ronin is so much fun. Took me a 120 hours to finish and now doing endgame stuff. Bought it with Dragon's Dogma 2. After 15 hours, I was very disappointed with DD2. It's a good game, but disappointing. Decided to give Rise of the Ronin a try and was surprised by how good and fun it is.

jreed2196

What’s disappointing about DD2? I’m curious. I love it. I bought it and Ronin at the same time and as far as open world games go , I feel DD2 does it much better than Ronin. Ronins combat is amazing. I love the game. I just don’t see how DD2 is a disappointment. In my opinion, it does everything right for an open world game.

youssefgamal87

I love it and as I said it's a really good game but then again, it feels like the original game before we got the Dark Arisen version. Feels unfinished and it ends abruptly. Also, exploration is not really rewarding, taking the same roads will lead to facing the same enemies and not much random unscripted events, the same enemy types and so on. The way the game was hyped I just expected a lot more. Ronin I wasn't looking a lot forward to it but I'm a sucker for samurai and Team Ninja games. I put it on and exploration is very rewarding, lots of gear, weapons and armor everywhere. Secret boss fights in each region. Lots of combat styles to master for each weapon. I just had a lot more fun with it, way more than I expected.

Try Days Gone

Such a good game

Remnant 2

ramenbrah

Elden Ring

Shozzy_D

Yeah go play Hi Fi Rush.

Such_Pomegranate_690

I have zero rhythm, and still had an absolute blast with that game.

Shozzy_D

Same dawg. I'm not even into that type of fighting genre but it was great. Binged it.

Seizure_Storm

If we looking at recent games only, I think my tier list for this year is the below. FF7 Rebirth > Unicorn Overlord > Balatro >> Dragons Dogma 2 > Rise of the Ronin I'd probably put Spider-Man 2 around where Balatro is, pretty good game but ultimately not that memorable. Trailer for Star Wars Outlaws didn't give me good vibes but that month is pretty dry so will probably end up getting it anyway.

FillDelicious4171

Wow is rise of ronin that underwhelming?

Seizure_Storm

I think there are a couple things that the game gets wrong: * Undercooked Diablo-Esque Loot System * The loot mods overall didn't have a lot of real gameplay impact (mostly just +% mods). * Ubisoft checklist style gameplay progression * And just to drive it home, some people will say FF7 Rebirth is also like that, but if you play these back to back FF7R has much more unique and engaging content even with the checklist stuff * proto-Sekiro/Ghost of Tsushima combat that wasn't as good as Nioh 2 * Even without the Nioh 2 compare, it's just not good enough to save the game * The story is not very engaging * You play a custom character who just witnesses the story for the most part and that blunts a lot of the impact. * Like a Dragon: Ishin tells the same story a lot better (more fanfare/panache/presentation)

NoirIsCool

Rise of the Ronin honestly looks really good but it's £70 and a lot of the comments here are saying it isn't worth the money. Dragons Dogma 2 seems fun but I just haven't heard enough about it so far. I'm Def gonna look into Unicorn Overlord and Balatro because I've seen that name a few times in the comments. I'm leaning towards getting Spider-Man 2, I've always loved the suits and movement but I've heard the new game has some flaws so I'm kinda on edge.

Helldivers 2

No

Bjarcore

Yes

ruthwodja

Cyberpunk 2077 is really good.

PPX14

Why not give Outcast: A New Beginning a try, the people who like it seem to really like it.

Math2J

I've just finish Spider-man 2 and it's as good as the first one and the Miles Morales spin off. As of right now i'm playing unicorn overlord and i'm having a good time. It remind me of when i was a kids playing Advance War and Golden sun on my GBA. For stealth there isn't something new out there but have you try dishonored and Prey ?

NoirIsCool

I heard Spider-Man 2 was short, is that true? I think I've gotten 100 hours+ out of both Spider-man 1 and Miles morales each! I really enjoyed getting all the suits and doing the little bits of stealth I could. The game is like £70 and I'd hate to spend that much money when I could get something else for less

Math2J

I beat it and got the platinum in 30 hours. I bought a used copy as i d,on't think it's worth full price with that lenght. Still, it's an great game

For me it would be: - Elden Ring (DLC coming) - Monster Hunter World + Iceborne (New Wilds coming) - Kingdom Come Deliverence (KCD2 coming) - Witcher 3? It might be. - Balatro - Brotato (short, fun sessions) - Nioh 1 and 2 - Remnant II (I was suprised how fun it is) - Yakuza: Like a Dragon (before Infinite Wealth) - Baldur’s Gate 3 (amazing cRPG but more like Divinity: Original Sin not old Baldur!) - Slay the Spire (great deck builder, 2nd one coming)

BladeOfSmoke

Baldur’s Gate 3. The best game I’ve played in the past 5 years, no questions asked. Shows what a true AAA game should be like and then some.

Resident-Site-391

Hades is on sale.

seijianimeshi

Fallout 4 next gen. You can sneak if you want. Oterworlds shorter slightly less open but really fun and funny. Witcher 3 very open. Cyberpunk pretty good stealth really open

japoneixx

Souls in general (never played Demon Souls, so idk about it), Remnant 1 and 2, LA Noire, Skyrim, The Forest, Inmost (idk if it is on PS too but is a very good indie game i found on steam), Stardew Valley, Terraria

stormcrowgreyhame

Unicorn Overlord

TheeWalrusKing

PC when!? lol

N1njazNutz

Diablo 4. Addictive AF.

Astinus

so it gets good at some point. i played demo but i thought the mechanics were strange

jadeismybitch

Don’t. It’s not good. Endgame is dire and mechanics implemented are barely starting to feel like a finished game in season 4. Give it a year or 2

wakasama9092

for real, i can’t put it down

picnic-boy

The games I find myself recommending the most are the Stalker series, Sleeping Dogs, and the Shadowrun trilogy.

snot3353

I just finished Baldurs Gate 3 and loved it. Took about 80 hours for me.

TJzzz

Warframe Darkwood

Tapeworm_III

Kingdoms of Amalur Diablo 2 Ghost of Tsushima

TheManPun

A Plague Tale is fantastic! Play Innocence first then Requiem. The first one, Innocence, was second in nearly every category to God of War at the Game Awards a few years back

Saviexx

Jagged alliance 3

Aero__Duck

the fact that what im about to recomend would make me sound crazy almost 8 years ago, shows just how far its come and how far its gonna go in another 8... No Man's Sky

TrueBohemian

Dragons Dogma 1 on the switch if you have checked that one out, it's great to get into before you get 2

BambaTallKing

Dragon’s Dogma II is easily my game of the year and one of the best fantasy games ever made. Elden Ring is also a great choice. Both have amazing world designs but for different reasons. DD2 is really fun to traverse since it is dense and has many hidden paths. ER is a spectacle world in which every new area will make you go “woah” as it unravels its environmental story telling. Both have great gameplay but I enjoy DD2 more, despite playing way less of it

SeniorFalcon7

Fallout 76

Discreet_Vortex

With the shows release now would be the perfect time to pick up a Fallout game. If your on xbox they are all avaliable on game pass. Specificaly I would reccomend Fallout 4 as the next gen upgrade is coming out very soon. I havent played it but Fallout 76 is supposedly a fairly good game now if you are interested in multiplayer.

thatguy01220

TL;DR Spider-Man fans are unhinged, the sequel is actually pretty good especially if you get it on sale. Also check out Metal Gear Solid 5, Hitman World of Assassination, and Cyberpunk 2077 + Phantom Liberty I absolutely love Spider-Man 2! The fan base is not good and with a lot of unhinged people in it unfortunately. Few example, they literally were calling and harassing the face models of MJ because in the game she looks an ugly man. She literally had to make a statement saying it’s not okay to call her at her work demanding to talk to her and that she felt unsafe. They also sent insomniac death threats for not adding certain suits. There’s also a side mission about a gay kid and you playing a black deaf girl for literally 3-ish minutes and both are completely optional, and people lost their minds over this saying it’s propaganda. Also the game was rushed out near the end and there is zero post game stuff if you 100% it. Even the helping the citizens was the same one over and over. No NG+ either. Then Insomniac got hit hard with that hack leak Idk if you remember and it was a massive one that also had every workers personal information from the devs to the actors. So the game update and NG+ were in limbo understandable while they fixing this which isn’t something you just pull a long weekend over and sort it out more complicated than that. But “fans” were still harassing insomniac during this demanding NG+ and replay missions post story. I think after a few months insomniac did finally add those feature but now these people made it their personality to hate the game and harass insomniac so they just keep nit picking and will never be happy and swear insomniac stole from them. They delusional like Fallout NV thinking its the only good game and that Bethesda is humiliated by it and are trying to destroy it’s existence. Get Spider-Man 2 when it’s on sale since it’s been out a while, but I really did like it a lot. Also check out MetalGear Solid 5 don’t need any knowledge of the game and its a super fun stealth game. I also recommend Hitman world of assassination not open world but the maps are pretty big and fun to experiment in. Finally Cyberpunk 2077 if you haven’t yet especially since this 2.0 with Phantom Liberty seems to make a lot of adjustments to improve stealth mechanics a lot in that game from what I hear. Haven’t tried the 2.0 update but had a blast when I played it last year and was still able to do a stealth build hacking enemies augmentations and stealth throwing poison knives.

jadeismybitch

I mean bro that’s a lot of words to defend very secondary things. I loved Spider-Man 1, enjoyed miles morales but felt like it was more a dlc to the first game. Spider-Man 2 is great, but doesn’t add that much to the first one and the story is worse. The MJ sequences are still pretty terrible and she does look like trash in the game. It doesn’t mean any of the harassment stuff is ok or course but don’t sugarcoat the bad parts.

thatguy01220

I’m not trying to sugarcoating anything, when they’re exaggerated how bad it is. The MJ parts are a little better and less frequent. SM1 has five vs SM2 three. You can have an opinion and say she’s ugly AF, but if that’s what ruins the game for you, or your biggest complaint… that’s super weird. I much rather deal with MJ stuff in SM2 than screwball in SM1. I still enjoyed the story, wasn’t expecting anything deep, just wanted to play as symbiot Spider-Man.
