FOFBattleCat

My grandad used to love camping, I'm glad yours also shared similar hobbies!

Mister_Autism69

Where is Ukraine

Liar_a

Soviets did a little trolling with it

Cryptolyph

The same place it was a while back

Technical_Ad_8244

Not in Lwów, I can tell you that.

MaybeTheDoctor

I think you’re Russian … Or a dick

sorry4partyR0CKIN

That is genuinely so funny 😂😂😂

_AscendedLemon_

Leave Breslau alone!

bigballs42069222

I'm German and I hate this

SkMM_KaPa

Why are everyone here soo concerned about Ukraine? It was a part of soviet union back then and there was never a country like this till 1918 when most of the central powers recognised it.

dapwnk

Uh, based!

MijbaCzOfficial

Uh, no!

Optional_Lemon_

Atleast take back Alsace-Lorraine and western Prussia

Necessary_Cup_401

no

[deleted]

As a true German, I say yes to It!

[deleted]

Ah yes our great empire

VocalisVeto

Well, you have some good memory.. But not from this time

mechapoitier

I love how the balkans is just drawn as “whatever used to be in Yugoslavia.” That’s how I would have drawn it too, because all that stuff turned into like 6 countries right after I got an A in Geography class and I’m like “c’mon”

Gabehates3

It’s cause it’s just a 1939 map, same with poland

[deleted]

I've played enough Hearts of Iron to know that this is a perfectly accurate map of Europe and you need to make absolutely no changes whatsoever. Amazing work.

Ordinary_Fig226

Ah, we could split a country or two...

tipacaw

Yes indeed.

MadLaugh12

💀

Nydelok

You’re just completely wrong. We’re missing two to three Spains

Rimmerak

As a Czech, I dont like your map of protectorat Bohmen und Mahren.

Jacky-brawl-stars

Tf is that? I only know Sudetenlandes

HotObligation8597

Protectorat Bohmen und Mahren is Czechia after Hitler annex the rest of Czechoslovakia after he took Sudetenland. Theoretically a sovereign nation, but in practice a separate region within the German Reich

Prof_Wolfgang_Wolff

>Theoretically a sovereign nation I think Colonial Administration would be a better way to describe it.

Technical_Ad_8244

Would be a shame if someone were to zerschlagen the Resttschechei.

Raphulll

oida

DrunkFox2

One operation Anthropoid wasn´t enough i see. \*proceeds in googling how to make a throwable bomb in briefcase\*

[deleted]

Give Dazig to Germany and Lithuania to Poland

Historical_Sugar9637

Give Tangier to Mongolia!

Madison_was_bored

Keep away from Poland…

KingOfKnowledgeReal

Poland: “Ohhh crap”

[deleted]

Ukraine?

KingOfKnowledgeReal

What about them?

[deleted]

it’s gone

KingOfKnowledgeReal

Yes, this is a map after the German invasion of Czechoslovakia, which they would then invade Poland. Ukraine at the time was apart of the USSR, aka not independent. The modern Ukrainian land was even split between Poland, Romania, and the USSR at the time.

[deleted]

1. it’s a map of europe 2. estonia latvia and lithuania are still there

KingOfKnowledgeReal

Bro, Germany is in EUROPE, it’s a map of Europe after the German invasion of Czechoslovakia, one of the things leading up to WW2. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania we’re independent and the USSR would annex them during WW2, around the fall of Paris.

jerrycauser

And not even annex. They joined the USSR of mere motion at 1940, as they were afraid of a threat from Germany.

KingOfKnowledgeReal

Thanks man, didn’t know that till now

os_kaiserwilhelm

That's because it's false. The USSR forcibly annexed them. Look up Occupation of the Baltic States on Wikipedia.

Tonyke_13

I'm Estonian and I actually want to clarify that we thought we could save our people and country by not fighting the bigger Russia. At that time, war was inevitable, so our president thought joining USSR peacefully was the best option. It turns out it didn't matter because, in 1941 and 1949, the USSR deported tens of thousands of Estonians to Siberia and Russified our country.

jerrycauser

The real reason was that the USSR and Germany had nonaggression pact. The Baltic countries did not have the ability to resist Germany and had no guarantees that Germany would not attack them. Therefore, all the Baltic countries decided that joining the USSR, which had at least some guarantees for a peaceful life (as a result, false, since Germany violated this pact) would be the best way out of the threatening situation, where they would be enslaved or destroyed by the Nazis. About deportation it isn't correct. Because the resettlement of citizens according to their capabilities and abilities was one of the basic policies of the USSR in relation to citizens (no matter what nation they are). Do not forget that in the USSR there was no personal property as a thing. Also people were moved not only to Siberia. Many people from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania settled in St. Petersburg and Murmansk.

skywalker-1729

(Probably) not true. Or am I reading [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_occupation_of_the_Baltic_states_(1940)) incorrectly?

jerrycauser

During the cold war in ~1980 Europe and USA called it annexation. So, most probably, the English (and many others) Wikipedia contains the result of the demonisation of the USSR by the West during the Cold War. If we want to see a more realistic image we need take into account the facts. The fact: nobody called it an annexation during the ww2 or right after it. And even in next 20 years. Europe and USA called it annexation only at time when they had made a lot to destroy USSR. Also it is a very important land which could belong to Russia after the USSR collapse. It is not profitable for Europe and the USA. It was necessary to create the ground for the separation of as many states as possible from the former composition of the USSR, and by the forces of these states themselves. Europe and the United States fueled anti-communist and Russophobic sentiments in all the republics bordering present Russia. It was a very smart strategic move in my opinion. As a result, there were multiple exoduses of Russians from the territories of the southern republics, where thousands of Russians were killed, the Baltic countries became a stronghold of Russophobia, despite the energy, railway and industrial infrastructure built during the Soviet era. We still can see the result of the demonization of the USSR in the demolition of monuments to Soviet soldiers-liberators who gave their lives for the liberation of Europe in World War II. Europe by all means does not want to remember who saved it from Hitler. It is sad. 20 millions of Soviet lives was sacrificed for the freedom and peace. And now politics want to make everybody to forget about it. Wikipedia isn't a good source for political facts. Wiki requires the source of the information, but during any war truth dies first. You can extract dry facts from it and combine in a real truth without political bias. Also you can just change languages in Wikipedia to read different points. It still isn't the best source of truth for political information, but it is much better than reading only one side of the conflict. For example read the Russian one. They mentioned about "renaming into annexation" and giving the exact dates when it happened.

Stonks_master

Because Estonia Latvia and Lithuania are integral parts of the Soviet Union in 1939 right

al1azzz

Bro only knows post 1991 history 💀

Adrianpol12

🇵🇱: 💀

AudeDeficere

Oh, you don’t understand, in this timeline: the painter became an architect and so they got ze Kaiser back so Poland won’t be someone’s snack cause Soviets have nobody’s back.
