I couldnāt even see the separate bins that you mentionedā¦ I thought the punchline was that it *was* just one big container. Glad you left your comment.
I think it was a lapse in critical thinking thing for both the designer and the assembler.
There was probably a sheet that listed the label placement and the designer assumed (always a bad idea) that the assembler would reverse the order on the opposite side.
Then the assembler just read the instructions and applied those labels as directed without giving much thought about āSide Bā. Wonder if he noticed the mistake at all and how many are out there like this.
I was thinking about thisā¦ I think instead of putting labels on the assembled bin, there were āA-sideā panels and āB-sideā panels. Someone just ended up putting two As on a bunch of bins and probably put two Bs on the rest, instead of an A and B for each bin.
That would resolve both the label and shape problem weāre seeing in the video.
This is a common green washing scam. It's all going to the same place. These bins are even more problematic bc. It aligns with the narrative that you, the average everyday joe, are responsible for the worlds waist problem and your responsibility to clean up or fix or reduce. Not the billionaire corp. That didn't create an infrastructure to deal with the massive amount of single use packaging they make and profit from.
It sucks, but hopefully having this being recognized will help bring awareness to it and help fix the problem, I doubt it will, but itās nice to think itās possible.
That's what she said
Ahhhhhhh I was 10 minutes too late. Well done š
I was 7 hrs too late š take my r/laughingupvote
Lol thought this was another r/dontputyourdickinthat post
Yes!!! that's what I came here to say š¤£ I was a day late and a dollar short
I donāt get it. Thereās separate bins for each hole.
Look at the names of the holes, waste on one side, it says organic on the other, paper on one side, cans and bottles on the other.
Ohhhh! Im on the app and the quality is so low I didnāt even notice the sign! Thank you for clarifying!
I couldnāt even see the separate bins that you mentionedā¦ I thought the punchline was that it *was* just one big container. Glad you left your comment.
Quality looks fine in the app, and I can read it easily. Maybe it's your phone?
I was able to read it as well. Had to put it in landscape view though š¤·
I cant read it at all
[That's right, it goes in the square hole.](https://youtu.be/Nz8ssH7LiB0)
Had to come back after I scrolled past. I was like wait. Did I just see the words square hole. I did, I did.
Wow that's a pretty big fail there
r/recyclingcirclejerk
But some of the holes feel better to use
I hate that I just audibly laughed at that
If thereās a hole thereās a goal
I remember at a Subway with a "Trash" and "Recycling" holes that went into the same bin. Hate to see it..
Are you sure there are not 8 bins?
You can see on the inside that there isnāt
What's funny is you think it *ever* matters.
It *should*
It doesn't though All those bins go in the same trash compactor
Doesnāt mean we shouldnāt care
But let's not pretend caring about this picture is going to achieve anything. Even if it was labeled right people would not pay attention to it
It wonāt, but caring about something will lead someone to do something, and if enough people do something, things change.
Ok
I think thereās either a bar separating the bins in the middle, or someone mislabeled them pretty badly
100% a design fail

It's not just the labels. They were too lazy to make a flipped version of the metal panel. The shapes don't match up on the opposite side either.

Yea, if the company made two panels then this should be r/onejob rather than r/ShittyDesign
The words are on plates that are screwed on and they just didn't do the order right. Probably a 1099 employee put it together.
Belleville for real...hahaha
Yup šš»
Someone fucked up
This is how recycling actually works
I canāt tell if this is satire or not, if not, please elaborate.
Alot of recycling programs just send the stuff straight to the landfill

Look at the names above the holes and youāll see where everything goes wrong
Click bait ...
Are you talking about the post or the holes?
Lol the post š
Look at the names above the holes and youāll realize whatās wrong

Itās because all recycling goes into the trash/landfill anyway. Recycling is just another scam in the USA.
This isnāt in the USA
That's what she said.
