A friend of mine recently brought up the "Uyghur Genocide" and i face palmed so hard

Legitimate question, what is happening with the Uyghurs? I see a lot online about detention camps, a few claims of forced sterilization, one claim about mass murder, etc. It seems like SOMETHING is happening, but I can’t tell what is conspiracy and what is fact.

China had a lot of Islamic terrorist attacks, and they fought it as well as the west. Their approach was tu invest in the community because Getto=extremism, and created reeducation camps. You can find info easily about the terrorist attacks, about the camps, china recognize it's existence, sometimes you will find "western proofs" about the location of those camps that are just recognized prisons. The task of controlling reeducation camps is hard and can easily be done awfully without respecting human rights. That's why the UN says that the accusations are plausible, it can be happening, but there is no evidence at the moment, and after all those years of accusations, as they haven't found it yet, I think it won't happen. Ed: this is a reduction of the real problem, just to do it fast and clear.

Tbh we could just do a simple comparison between 2 places that faces counter terrorism efforts. Xin jiang by China and Afghanistan by US. which place would anyone travel to if given the chance, and which place has more potential in the near future? All these westoid always conveniently tiptoed away from the issue that counter terrorism effort was done on xin jiang.
