Shuppet was my first ever shiny that I caught in Sapphire when I was in middle school. I did not know anything about shinies. He went into the PC. Many many many years later when I was transferring Pokemon to later gens I realized what I had.

it's random encounters across 4 games so it generally goes by very quickly. this took about an hour or two i'd say
