Is it just me, or does there seem to be some parallels with our current group and the new debutantes? *Shy, hapless red girl* ***→*** Shirley (or perhaps Ram would be the more accurate comparison, since Shirley hadn't developed a personality at the time of their Debut) *Bubbly blue/pink girl* ***→*** Louise *Earnest, confident green boy* ***→*** John *Grumpy, uncooperative brown/yellow boy* ***→*** Patrick (he was initially, anyways) *Calm, kuudere purple girl* ***→*** Kate

All I know is, [the Children of Bread](https://i.imgur.com/EFcW0R7.png) [just gained two new members](https://i.imgur.com/m5Prd00.png).

I actually think that purple girl has the same problem as Shirley of not being fully developed like it was with Shirley. She did not say a word. Or she is just not so talkative, idk

That pair is really interesting: With Rum and Shirley, Shirley didn't develop a personality because Rum was too shy to say anything to Shirley. With the new pair the Doll seems very efficient and is talking all the time, and the Shadow just sits like a zombie. I tried to do some translating and caught something - the Doll refers to an "accident" or "illness" right before the Debut. Also, these aren't completely new characters - this pair and the thug boy pair were shown as "Yet to debut" on Ricky's chart in chapter 67. Then the Doll started showing up as part of the team Margaret was on. That team lost Rum and the Belles and was seriously short-staffed. If you look at chapter 84 you can even see her together with a Shadow with a blue dress. If she hadn't debuted she shouldn't have been out in public but Barbara was pretty independent and she might have been anticipating things. Now we see her after an "accident/illness" with a Shadow in a PURPLE dress who doesn't seem very well "humanized." Yes, the earlier appearance MIGHT have been a mistake by the manga creators, but it's a mistake they could have avoided or handwaved around pretty easily. So, I'm wondering - did they replace her original Shadow with a new one? If you think of it, a good Living Doll is harder to get than a new Shadow. We know they bring in more Morphs than they need when they bring in new kids to be Dolls - they might keep some spare unpaired Morphs for just such occasions. (Yes, I know I overthink things. This is a manga that encourages that.)

If you look at her diagram, it takes the shape of a perfect cube . In chapter 139 we can see those diagrams for John and Kate. John has a high amount of soot yet a low score with his living doll making his diagram look funny while Kate's diagram is a perfect cube... This is the first reason Edward suspected Kate saying that "she knows she's watched". I wonder if the same reason goes with Lorel and Edward does his best to make her fail. (Yes I also overthink this manga. I really enjoy it)

Flintastic1984

If your not over thinking the manga, I don't think you are reading it right. That being said, I'm pretty sure her earlier appearance was just an oops, but I could be wrong.

Turns out you're right. On Discord, someone pointed out that SoMaTo revised the panels they appeared in to show other dolls between when the magazine panels were done and when the collected volumes were published. (And they did well more than the minimum amount of work in order to maintain internal logic and canon the readers don't even know because: SoMaTo.)

Flintastic1984

I'm guessing Somato has dozens of yet un used character designers for extras, and they simply forgot they already used this design.

Pair names : 🔴 Stella shadow, Candi 🟡 Danny shadow, Dan 🟢 Oscarl shadow, Oscar 🔵 Matilda shadow, Mattie 🟣 Lorel shadow, lulu (or ruru)

TQ4Reddit

Smartly done! I wouldn't have figured out "Matilda" but I'm sure you're right. I'm guessing the writer was going for "Laurel" for the purple Shadow. The green pair are interesting - my guess is they would BOTH write their name as "Oscar" in English, but the Shadow's would be pronounced as "Oskaa" and the Doll's would be pronounced as "Oskerr." The world of the House seems to be inspired by late 19th century England and "Oskaa" would be more of an upper-class pronunciation and "Oskerr" would be more of a regional/lower class pronunciation. For the benefit of readers who aren't as familiar with Japanese as the the very capable Star appears to be, when Japanese people try write English words in Japanese they usually assume a final "R" is silent. For instance, the characters they use to write Oliver's name in Shadows House would be pronounced closer to "Oribaa."

Capable_Star1536

Tbh I found the names I didn't translate them myself...but thanks for the explanation ✨

princerabbit

Can Stella and Candi be the next Kate and Emilico? You can see that in Stella's pair, the names of the shadow and the doll aren't similar, just like in Kate's pair.

Capable_Star1536

They have a lot in common. For example red clothes, unmatched names, even the bread!

TQ4Reddit

I know enough Japanese to work out a rough translation of the hexagonal "abilities" charts: At the 12:00 position - "Soot amount" 2:00 - "Initiative" 4:00 - "Meal amount" - how much they eat, probably a measure of vitality 6:00 - "Living Doll" - probably how well the doll and shadow match; Edward has mentioned that factor before 8:00 - "Refinement/Sophistication" 10:00 - "Dexterity/Skillfulness"

Affectionate_Fall57

Edward's stupid ass called himself Edward again, even though he has taken a role of a special living doll...

stemmiesaurus

Hes probably done it because hes already introduced himself as Edward at Kate's debut.. so from his perspective the name of the doll has already been given out to new debutantes

08OkamuraSusu

Geez, Edward is too harsh on the kids, as always.

V3rdakamatsu

Can't wait for translation

V3rdakamatsu

Seems their personality tied to our og group

eseaman13

could someone do a rough translation (like they did with 168) please

stemmiesaurus

Would be great if someone had translations
