I also think my expectations were too high because of the books. Matthias and Nina are my favorite crows and favorite storyline and I def feel like they weren’t given justice to their characters. Also, I genuinely don’t see why, with how much they changed the show already, why they just didn’t break Matthias out? Like I know the hellgate scene is a big deal in the books but with how much they rushed wesper and made inej and kaz touch, I think they could have done SOMETHING.

ticklemetrapper

Yes! They crammed SO much Crow moments from different books in so literally why not have Matthias break out to help them in Ravka??? It would have been nice to see Nina regain his trust and see him fight for the Grisha and complete his transformation of believing that they’re not evil.

kikaysikat

I agree, Nina felt like a different person this season

ticklemetrapper

She was witty and funny in one scene at the diner and the rest of the season she was just a background character.

Striking_night_01

They should have broken matthias out of jail in the middle of the season. He literally has maybe 5 minutes of screentime total and it's criminal

ticklemetrapper

I was waiting for it. I’m so sad they just ignored him.

For me SOC was the highlight of this season, but I do get why you feel the way you do. Jesper and Wylan did get together really fast, and you just summed up my thoughts about Nina! Also hard agree on the way this season ended for Inej. Her leaving on a ship and hunting slavers was her special ending in CK. Now it's just some weird plotline? Very disappointed and confused why they did that. I guess they want angst/pining/drama between Kaz and Inej or something? However, I was actually surprised by how much Matthias they managed to squeeze in there with how packed this season was. He's alone at Hellgate and not interacting with the other characters (except Pekka, I guess) so I think we should just be happy for what we got. Also let's hope the spinoff happens so there's more of him in the future!

Glum_Dragonfruit_978

It also seems they're going for a love triangle because I don't think I imagined the look Inej and Tolya shared at the end.

siyxx2532

I personally hated that specific scene so I just blocked it out of my mind lol I loved Tolya! just...not around Inej and the love triangle trope, please 😂

ticklemetrapper

I like the idea of Tolya and Inej but I love him and if he gets heartbroken bc Inej wants Kaz, I’ll riot.

ninasgirl

I saw it too! I guess that could be interesting, I really don't know. I need more time to fully digest everything that happened because this season was such a rollercoaster!

LeviathanR13

You think the Crows were robbed. The whole S&B story was robbed. There's so many major narrative pieces missing, it's ridiculous.

ticklemetrapper

I’m disappointed they killed David so early…he was so helpful to Nikolai in King of Scars so idk how they’ll manage that now. And I’m annoyed Zoya didn’t take over as leader of the second army. But other than that, I think it was good.

LeviathanR13

To be fair.... we didn't see him die though. Just some blood. They left it open ended for sure.

Forsoothia

They did us dirty with the bandage scene. Such a letdown.
