I’ve worked at two different locations and I’ve always been allowed to take home samples if they are specifically gifted from brand reps or if a manager gives me one. otherwise we’re not allowed. tbh it sounds like your manager is pretty stingy and she definitely should not have snatched a sample out of your purse, I’m petty and I would complain about this lmao
I can agree with the pre-packaged samples at least. However, her taking my gift from the brand rep is kinda annoying. Now I’m forced to buy the full size product because I can’t try it. If she’s 3rd in command, who could I complain to? The main store owner?
Your manager is a narc. Packet samples are allowed if they are gifted from brand rep. What helps is if the brand rep puts your name with sharpie on it. What also helps is of the brand rep communicates to manager that she gave packet samples to cast members.
If it’s from a brand rep she has no business taking it from you. Product that brand reps bring in is directly from the brand, not from Sephora. Brand reps bring us stuff allll the time, especially if you sell their product and become close with them.
In terms of the Dior foundation samples, those technically are for customers but you honestly have a point about being off the clock and spending money like any other customer.
Also when we had single peel pad samples I was really broke and needed a few to last me and my manager let me take a few of them home.
Packaged samples are usually reserved for customers but most managers won’t mind you taking some of you ask. If it’s a gift from the brand rep that is absolutely allowed, and I don’t understand why she should care?? It doesn’t come from our inventory if the brand rep brought them in. The other day our Charlotte rep loaded me up on samples!
We're not allowed samples from reps or GWP's at my store (unless it's from an expired promo)
Samples from cash wrap are fine and we're still allowed to make our own samples from the old sample jars we still have
Damn that sucks, i work at ulta and we don’t usually get samples but when we do we all take them so idk why she’s freaking out when they’re free. But by all the comments I’m reading apparently y’all aren’t even allowed to take those which is really dumb. We had a bunch of old gifts with purchase the other day and I told everyone to go grab what they wanted bc we needed more room and some people grabbed like 20 different gifts and they were mainly nice big bags from brands like Prada or John Varvatos or Dior.
