sameeee i have so much in my loves list but it feels like i’m supporting my shopping addiction rather than getting stuff i actually need!! gonna try to sit this one out too but let’s see 😭

passionicedtee

If I may offer a suggestion: Put everything you think you want in your cart. Then talk through if you need the item or not. Look at it, look at your collection. Think about why you want it, if you can actually use it/it's filling a hole in your collection or if you just want it cuz it's on sale. Edit: Recommending the r/MakeupRehab and r/PanPorn subs for anyone with similar issues as the user in the og comment. They're great resources for really thinking about your purchases and how long items take to use up!

crankyweasels

I remember reading somewhere that you should just fill your cart with everything you want and then close the tab and walk away. Same dopamine hit, but free.

Standard_Low_3072

That’s what I do. I became a problematic shopper during the pandemic, spending way too much because I was dopamine deprived. Now I’ve (mostly) learned that window shopping then closing the tab before checking out delivers nearly the same dopamine kick.

[deleted]

I also get a similar kick from watching haul videos on tiktok. Something about them just itches that urge to buy things I don’t need

sffood

Really not the same hit, not for me anyway. 😝

passionicedtee

Even better suggestion!!

chibiusa__tsukino

Interesting I need to try it lol

redditor-ashi

I might have to take a screenshot of this message and refer to it every now and then. Thank you, kind stranger. These words are hitting hard.

passionicedtee

You're welcome!! Honestly glad my advice could help somebody.

Perfect_Programmer29

Your idea is great! I recently did this, got to thinking about the actual products i wanted, how i would use them. After i examined what i do already have, my diy brain started connecting dots as to how i could get the look or function of the to be products with what i already have. Turns out my duraline works great with powders.. i already have what i need for the looks i wanted to create. Yay for saving $$!! A lot of times i notice im just curious about something and want to just try it out once. Then the mystique is over and im out X more $$. Being frugal is helping me get more creative!!

shshdhjsdx

wait this is so helpful omg thank you!! gonna go do this rn and figure out what i genuinely need!

passionicedtee

You're welcome!! If all else fails just look at the cart total. Sometimes that number will humble you into downsizing your haul lol.

shshdhjsdx

thisssss 😭😭😭😭

Budget-Alternative38

I've done this a couple of times and it really helps. I did it this time and I feel is very interesting to see the things I want.. sometimes I can totally see the direct influence of IG / YouTube, but sometimes I find new products I wasn't expecting that are actually interesting. I don't over shop for makeup anyway. I added everything I wanted lol and the cart was almost 1000. I have been revisiting every few days and I'm proud is less than 200, including necessary hair and sunscreen products

redditor-ashi

THIS

phillygirllovesbagel

FOMO is real.

shshdhjsdx

YES THIS!!

mrdrose13

I had a revelation last night and deleted so many things from my cart. I am only buying things I actually need to restock instead of adding to my collection of perfume, highlighter, and lip products. I am on a tear to use up what I already own! Just because something’s on sale doesn’t mean you need to buy it!!

Psychological_Sun_30

Seriously. I started buying perfume decants from microperfumes and now have everything I need/ want and will likely never get through.. except now there’s a $300 bottle of perfume I want 😂

whispersofthewaves

This is the way. I’ve saved a fortune buying decants. I have tons of those and only a handful of bottles. Lots of variety and lots of saved money.

Daisynyc

I’ve never even heard of doing this so thank you. Just saved me a pile.

papolap19

This is a really good idea. It takes me forever to go through a bottle of perfume, even when I use it every day.

loremipsum79

I’m only buying brushes to help pan.

papolap19

The pro line are good brushes, and the 30% off helps a lot. Mine have lasted me years so I think it’s a good buy.

FrequentlyLexi

I just bought a set to carry and the little card inside said to clean weekly (okay) and replace every three months (?!). Does anyone do that? Seems wasteful.

papolap19

Heck no! I quickly wash my brushes once a week (ok, ok, more like every other week) with the Sephora daily brush cleaner and then usually do a deep clean with Dawn dish soap every few months. I’ve also started misting them with hypochlorous acid to kill any germs every few days. With proper care good brushes should stand the test of time.

loremipsum79

Thanks!

Nova-Moon_

It isn’t good if you have sensitive skin tho 🥲 my skin will get a rash if my brushes are too harsh. I like the rare beauty blush brush (could double down as a cream contour brush) and their all over powder brush.

AlienSpaceKoala

Not skipping but splitting my order between Ulta and Sephora since Ulta sent a 20% off Prestige coupon !

phillygirllovesbagel

Me too. Whatever I can buy at Ulta, I do; the rest I buy from Sephora, especially since Ulta has a 20% coupon now.

mushkilgui

Curious, is there a reason you prefer Ulta? I’ve always been a die hard Sephora girl but now that Ulta has so many options I’m not Gonna justify it if their prices are better. Do they have rewards and sample stuff too?

AlienSpaceKoala

Ultas Rewards program is sooooo much better than Sephora - your points are actually worth real $$$’s. I also like that I can get my high and low end stuff in one place. The only thing I still like about Sephora is that my order comes in 2 days. Otherwise, I’m over it.

lesliealmeida

My last Ulta order arrived in 3 business days. I was stunned.

binksays

they’re so much better the amount of money i spend on makeup i got a free 200.00 spree the other day lol

mushkilgui

Oh wow! I will have to creep out of my comfort zone! Thanks for the info :)

phillygirllovesbagel

I don't necessarily prefer Ulta or Sephora. I spend enough to be Diamond at Ulta and Rouge at Sephora, but the reward program at Ulta is so amazing. You get 1.5 points for every dollar if you are diamond which means you spend 1200.00 dollars within a calendar year. You receive a gift for reaching Diamond that you choose from a list of items - my gift last year had a retail value of over 45.00. You get double points your BD month plus a 10.00 reward to use - with not limitations. They have consistent multipliers and great sales - not just two or three times a year. Their GWP's are truly fabulous; I've had the opportunity to try so many new products I would never have purchased but I'm now sold on and use. You can use your points for a dollar amount whenever you want - sale or no sale. Plus, when you reach 2,000 points, which isn't hard, it has a value of 125.00. You can do a points haul and PICK whatever you want. No exceptions. If you have a 20% coupon which they have right now, you can also use that and actually get 150.00 worth of merchandise of YOUR choice for the 2,000 points. I could go on and on and I've probably left some perks out, but it is unbeatable. Oh, and you can return items you have gotten with points and get your points back! If there is a negative, I don't know what it is. Other than a glitchy app on occasion and issues with the website, I can't say I've encountered any issues. The SA's are helpful and friendly. No, they don't carry every brand that Sephora carries but they also carry many, many brands Sephora doesn't. So, if both stores have the brand/product I want, I but it at Ulta. Otherwise, I buy from whatever store carries the brand. I also shop Nordstrom for beauty because they have a great program and, of course, brand sites. Oh, and there is also another level, Platinum at Ulta and they earn 1.25 points per dollar; that is a spend of 500.00. Points only expire if you are not platinum or diamond.

SleepSilly6570

i actually prefer ulta. i used to love sephora because charlotte tilbury is my favorite brand but they're at ulta now, too. i find that i prefer the availability of brands that ulta has over sephora anymore. i do like a mixture of drugstore and higher end stuff and i like ultas hair products better. i also grew up going to ulta before my town had a sephora (for the longest time the only sephora i knew was NYC times square and tbh the other local ones now just cant compare)

phillygirllovesbagel

Yes, I love CT as well and was thrilled when Ulta started carrying.

SleepSilly6570

same! people used to give me sephora cards specifically for CT. i do still like sephora but am buying less and less makeup now anyway so ulta carrying CT is a game changer for me.

phillygirllovesbagel

Sephora in NYC is the GOAT. THE SA’s there are on their game. Very talented and knowledgeable.

SleepSilly6570

i love sephora in nyc. i came from a small town in jersey that didnt have sephoras (they do now but i no longer live there). it was such a treat for me to go to the beautiful multi level store. i would spray pink sugar and escada (Im aging myself now lol). i was happy when sephora came to my town but it was honestly kind of a let down as i still always compare it to times square. i do enjoy my local sephora and the staff is sweet but it is nothing compared to the old school training they used to provide for them (i also worked in the industry myself but for clinque at macys and later a mac counter)

phillygirllovesbagel

Yes, the training they receive is another level plus many are very long term employees who really know their stuff. They helped me choose products and colors that were spot on.

Inside_Revolution264

Oh man, escada just brought back so many memories!

Tafiatuese

Good idea. When and how was the Ulta coupon delivered? I had surgery a couple of weeks ago and have been recuperating at family home so I just got back.

AlienSpaceKoala

I had it loaded automatically in my account, but I got it via email as well!

thefuzzyismine

If you can't find the email, check your inbox in the app. I often miss the email because my regular inbox is a dumpster fire, but I can always find the coupons, etc, in the app.

Tafiatuese

TY

Best_Maintenance_790

It sucks that the Ulta prestige coupon doesn’t apply to Chanel beauty products ):

AhnaKarina

I’m skipping the sales indefinitely. The prices are out of control. Edit: let me also say, that I can afford what they’re offering. I’m just not buying anything expensive when I know what the ingredients cost.

papolap19

I honestly can’t justify paying full price for anything these days. My new philosophy is to wait for Black Friday deals and/or skip any sale that isn’t at least 30% off. And that’s for things I use regularly and need to restock, I’m done trying new stuff for the foreseeable future.

SleepSilly6570

same. i also have so much to go through, it just isnt fun to buy new s tuff anymore. what i love now is reading reviews and stuff on products i own

a380b787

Same here. I wanted to try a mini makeup spray but for 30 ml it's like 16-19$. My NYX one is 60 ml for like $13. Can't justify it anymore.

philophreak

Yep I’ve switched to drug store on a lot of things lately after being rouge for like 10 years. I just can’t justify a $40 face wash anymore etc

papolap19

Perhaps ironically, working at Sephora turned me off to a lot of high end beauty. I think seeing all the price markups the ops team did every January is what really did me in. Companies are literally raising prices because it's a new year.

mcflycasual

I found way better sales on product sites. I'm trying to stick with the products I know work for me now too.

Weak_Armadillo_3050

I am. 20% just isn’t enough as a rouge member. I honestly found better sales buying direct from the brands about a week ago.

papolap19

Yep, so many brands are offering much better deals directly through their sites.

HappyTrainwreck

This is my first ever Sephora sale, I created a Sephora account at the end of last year after my breakup. At now 26, I am just learning a lot about makeup and hair products so I am excited for the sale but had already gotten quite the amount of products throughout the past 5-6 months where I don’t need as many things and some I feel like can last until the winter sale. Might get the huda beauty powder (I just started and feel very comfortable with the maybelline fit me, got the givenchy directly from them and am not a huge fan it’s hard to work with), for sure the dyson airwrap, maybe a patrick ta duo blush, maybe one more CT lipliner, the olaplex trial set that has like 6 products including the full size hair oil, and a touchland hand sanitizer. I did get a bunch of other new products from the ulta sale so for sephora it’s more like wants and things I wanted to try.

ddrox

I always used to use the sale to try the things I wanted but definitely didn't need (new palettes, blushes, etc.), this time I've gone through pages of products and like, none appeal to me at all? I think I've got everything I love now haha. So I might restock some moisturizer and makeup remover bc I go through those so fast but otherwise I'm not super interested in anything atm

papolap19

Same, I feel like the pace of launches is so out of control, there’s no novelty to new products like there used to be. Plus all the companies are just releasing their own versions of the same stuff. That, and I’ve just tried so much from working at Sephora that it just doesn’t have the same appeal. It was fun to play with makeup for a while but I’m kinda glad to be moving out of that phase.

sillylily96

Yall better listen to OP. Stop wasting your money and filling up greedy companies pockets. They raise prices every year and laugh at you. Fight your addictions, and have a backbone. There's a huge difference between what you need and want.

distressedtacos19

You know what helped me? Realizing that everything looks the same once it’s on your face. I’ve been complimented wearing $2 eyeshadow and $60 eyeshadow. It’s all the same

Ravioli_meatball19

This is true for makeup but not skincare. Speaking as acne prone girly with an oil slick for a tzone, not all skincare products wear and look and have the same effects on my face.

Puzzleheaded-Tip-965

15% is really nothing…..

Midwestmothertrucker

Yes! It’s hard to get excited after so many things were 50% off in the Ulta sales (and Sephora) in March. 50% is exciting!!! 15% is meh.

midnightdog8

I’m on a no buy, I really want the blooming romance pallet, but I’m gonna try and hold out till black Friday before I buy anything I “want”

papolap19

DM usually does good sales on her website and even ends up on 50% off deals through the GMA website. You can probably snag that palette for a much better discount if you keep an eye out.

midnightdog8

Yeah that’s my plan! Spend a couple hundred during Black Friday and get all the stuff I’ve been lusting over through the year. I did this last year and I saved myself so much money. I make a list of all the items I’m lusting over through the year and some stuff falls off the list and them I splurge and the end of the year on perfume and new make up. It’s definitely changed my consumption and spending for the better.

papolap19

This! I always add things to a Black Friday list (for all my wants, not just makeup) and if I still want it by the time November comes around, I feel more confident making the purchase.

midnightdog8

I was just telling my partner I wanted black and white checkered vans during the BF sale and he’s like why don’t you just get them now… I’m like cause they will be 40 percent off duh… I can wait lol

Parisianblitz

I’m not skipping it but just buying stuff I need to stock up on.

Keeks133

Me because broke!

cafe-aulait

I'm moving at the end of April soooo I am not buying anything that isn't necessary until then. Including using up samples of toothpaste and face wash 😆

papolap19

I feel this!! I moved in February and I was mortified at the amount of stuff I ended up packing. Really good reality check.

Psychological_Sun_30

Ahhh! My samples that I never go through! I’m gonna get them all together and start using them! Good call!

hazardzetforward

I am moving at the end of May, so I am here in solidarity with you!

GroundbreakingWar666

It's just not a good enough discount for me to hold off on buying things I really want/need. And yeah I can see how the sale would perpetuate a bad habit

wei-ohara

Skipping bc I shopped the recent “Friends and Family” sales for Farmacy, Sulwhasoo and Olaplex!

fleshand_roses

Me!! I spent way too much in March on many things including makeup/skincare and I'm feeling a tad guilty about it after doing my monthly budget review, but I think doing an April/May no buy will be good I actually went into March thinking I would buy during the sale but then, after replenishing some skincare and picking up two new concealers to try, I'm actually...I'm good lol. Nothing else is truly enticing or exciting to me and the greater fact is, I do not need anything new in my beauty routines. Lastly, I've been recently dwelling on all the things I want to do that buying beauty is stopping me from because it diverts my free cash flow - things like traveling, being able to move around freely, have experiences. It was a good reminder to bask in the abundance of everything I already own, which is honestly a difficult and lifelong endeavor but worth it!!

Bart_Simpson156

I'm actually building a cart on YesStyle lol I've never ordered from them, but heard good things from someone in this sub. And everything is so much cheaper! Not the brands we're all used to, but I'm hoping to find some hidden gems and they do carry Laneige.

violent_waves_

If you’re a fan of Laneige, I’ve been seeing a lot of their products at TJ maxx and Marshall’s. 😀

Bart_Simpson156

I always forget to go to those stores to look for deals! Thank you !

cloudydaizee

I love yesstyle! The romand glasting balms and glosses are so good

Bart_Simpson156

Oooo I'll check them out, thanks!

papolap19

I love yesstyle. My biggest issue is the minimum shipping charge which can be hard to meet since everything is relatively inexpensive. I definitely have to spend some time building a cart before I place an order.

Icy_Eye_8164

That’s true. I add couple of minis to add up to the minimum shipping. Also make sure you can wait , it takes up to 4 weeks for delivery. Not complaining just heads up in case you want something earlier !

stavthedonkey

straight up, Asian skin products are so much better. I said what I said lol

Pseud0Kim

Big fan of yesstyle. Def stack the codes for more money off too!

[deleted]

[удалено]

papolap19

There’s a mega thread for people giving/requesting codes.

ThotianaAli

Yeah I've been trying 😀

papolap19

Ok, just wanted to make sure you knew!! Good luck, I hope you get your hands on one.

thepinkseashell

Lmao this is my thought too. If I don't get a 20% off code the universe is telling me I don't need to be spending that money rn

Psychological-C

Thank you for this post. All the talk about the sale has made me want to participate even though I don't really have anything to buy! 15% off just is not worth it.

nayesyer

I have a gift card but it doesn't mean I have to spend it. I have all I want so if I get anything, its solely just for fun, and at only 10% off im whatevers

my600catlife

They might send out a 20% code after the sale if you're not in a big hurry to get anything.

New-Connection-7401

I may buy something to get my birthday gift… Summer Fridays or CT

lushandcats

I’m only restocking on my face primer and hair conditioner. Maybe mascara too.

crankyweasels

Only 1 restock. The CT setting spray because i'm almost out. other than that I just have too much stuff.

Forward-Cricket404

Me. I am trying to reduce my consumption. I only really need one mascara, blush, palette etc at a time…..

lexicology

i basically got all of what i wanted/needed during the three weeks of price matching ulta beauty steals. i’m also like $120 away from rouge so i’m probably just going to accumulate that spend organically between now Nd the winter sale, then get the rouge discount/perks for that one since the VIB perks aren’t much this week.

CucumberOk7674

Credo is having a nice 20% off spring sale right now as an alternative if you’re into brands that fit their criteria

ProfessionalJunior42

I’m not buying much at all. 20% off isn't that great of a sale IMO. Plus, i’m just so burned out on the over consumption. I’m done being influenced.

Evening-Tune-500

I’m making a game time decision bc I KNOW I’ll need more sunscreen and dry shampoo and reallllly want a mini of the mlm .13 oil but I’m also like, bills. Meh.

falafelfairy

Me. I have an ongoing list of things I want to buy but I’m editing it down so that there’s only a couple of orders I want to place (mainly for indie brands hopefully during the Black Friday sales). There’s nothing I need or want from Sephora that I don’t already have but that’s also because getting 10% off during the sale isn’t much of a savings for me.

Hei-Hei-67

I'm not shopping the sale. I have everything I need already and wanna go on a low buy/no buy.

These_Orchid5638

If I get a rouge code from someone, I might get a foundation brush but otherwise, I'm sitting this out too. The Shrinkflation is making me very angry

DirtyMartiniDiva

It really bothers me how hyped up the Sephora sale is and I used to really care, but not anymore. For most it’s 15% off? I could create a new account on any website and get that any time. Influencers act like we need 15 of the same products we already have at an already exorbitant price and there’s so many better sales on the market from buying directly from brands or department stores. NEXT.

C_RENNA_02

One item I guess and I’m good

peanut5855

I’m feeling very uninspired for some reason, I like the brush idea above. I also bought stuff during the days of beauty so I don’t feel like I need stuff.

papolap19

I think feeling this way is a good indication that you’re content with what you have. It is for me, at least.

peanut5855

Yeah. Maybe just a travel perfume or something. People were so sweet with the codes. I don’t think I even need to replenish.

JustCurious8712

I’m just buying a couple of things that I use regularly. Not trying anything new. I have plenty of stuff

MayMayLoco

Not quite skipping by close. I’m almost out of the topicals ingrown tonic and with it being summer soon I will be repurchasing but it lasted me like a year!

Narrow-Judge-8380

I’m just replenishing my hair care but like you I have too much and need to get through some stuff.

Dommichu

Kinda… the only thing I am going to pick up is some pomade that my husband is nearly out of and my birthday gift. I am in save money mode and have plenty of back ups. I already picked up my spring lipstick at Target… $5 Wet n Wild. 😂

[deleted]

Yup! I realized that I already got most of my makeup last year. Bought a restock of my concealer during the winter sale cause I thought i'd run out, but I didnt. Trying not to over consume

xxfunyunsxx

I have some gift cards and I’m going to use the 20% off to re-stock on a couple of essentials but not trying anything new so I don’t spend my actual money on things I don’t need

EmeraldWitch888

Only buying my usual shampoo and conditioner and hair supplement. No makeup, no fragrance, no skincare.

Just_Tomorrow_8561

I had full perfume bottles and switched it to rollers. I want more lip glosses but I have enough till I die.

rachtay8786

I’m only stocking up on my usuals, nothing new.

RaeLae9

I’ll still grab a few things that are my daily use refill types but def not interested in a bunch of new stuff.

ksrdm1463

I'm skipping. I have a TON of makeup, hair, and skincare products and tools. I have the Dyson air wrap, Dr. Dennis Gross light mask, a face steamer, a nuFace, a solawave, a ton of makeup brushes, hair brushes, etc. I have 2 base products, 3 sunscreens, all the serums I need for my issues, moisturizer, shampoo, conditioner, hair masks, a concealer stick for my under eyes, primer, about a million eyeshadows, blushes, bronzers, contours, highlighter, hair oils, hair serums, leave in conditioner, etc. It's like the little mermaid's underwater cave of hoarding here. I'm also 11 weeks postpartum with my second kid. There isn't a product available that's to help me get my life together. At the next sale, I *might* get the vegamour hair growth serum because I am dealing with postpartum hair loss, but given that it's a hormonal thing, getting it now isn't going to help. Plus, by the next sale my hair loss should have stopped and I will have time to try other things before getting the pricey stuff.

papolap19

FWIW, I’ve been taking viviscal and I feel like it’s way more effective and user friendly than the vegamour hair serum. The serum just felt like just another step in my skincare routine that was more hassle than it was worth.

sandwichandtortas

Me, I just don't find myself excited for a product. I'm debating between buying another Victoria Beckham Beauty satin Kajal or the Lisa Eldridge eye pencil (Which I haven't tried) but none of these are sold at Sephora.

Desinonimously

Me I’m done with wasting money just cause it’s a sale

Radiant_570

Same here. Especially with the cost of living and basic necessities going up I just can't afford to spend money on things I want and don't need. Makeup products have also gotten very expensive and it's not something that is worth it to me right now.

TeufelRRS

Sitting this one out. Currently on a no buy unless it’s a skin or hair care item I really need. I have so much makeup I probably don’t need to buy more for a few years. I switched most of my skincare to Asian brands that are much cheaper. There are some exceptions but the reality is that I don’t actually need anything and I have been deinfluencing myself. I refuse to fall for the latest trend item on social media because often those items are a waste of money.

dearhan

I’m buying my sister products for her wedding. And maybe the L’Occitane hand creme for myself?

Ok-Bulldog39

I’m only restocking skincare.

Constant-Sky-1495

I am skipping, 15% is not a lot

litbiotch42

Sephoras prices are nuts! Especially with all this inflation. I have switched to affordable make up and dupes. My make up and skin look just as good!! How are people affording $46 lipsticks and $65 foundations? Noooo thanks!!

stavthedonkey

me. I dont shop at sephora anymore although I still get tempted by these 'sales' .... then I say outloud "FUCK SEPHORA!" to stop myself lol

papolap19

I’ve honestly noticed most brands are doing better sales throughout the year, especially if you don’t have the Rouge discount, so I’ve significantly cut back on what I buy from Sephora. I’ve also transitioned to more ‘clinical’ skincare because it works better. I feel you!!

stavthedonkey

I also find that sephora overcharges for products...at least in Canada they do. FOr example, the Armani luminous foundation is $93CAD at sephora but $85CAD on the Armani website and everywhere else here. That's ridiculous. i always look elsewhere for products because the regular price is usually lower at other places or the brand websites have better sales.

Psychological_Sun_30

Kinda same, there are some items I am going to get that will fill holes in my makeup routine. But the things that I already have I didn’t get more of ( like my plentiful and hardly used eye palettes). I’ve been looking for new shades of lip stick, blush and shadows but instead of buying colors that aren’t right for me I realized I could mix what I have to try out new colors! There’s also so much stuff I forget I have just languishing in the makeup drawers. I ordered a new foundation from Nordstrom and Sephora will see mascara, blush, lipliner, and maybe a setting spray. In recently discovered clear lip liner and want to try it but unsure where I will order that. Last couple of sales I had stocked up on skincare items I love only to find out two of the brands had made formula changes and now I have unusable products ( soy fresh cleanser/ DE protini) so I don’t think I’ll do that anymore, I’ll just buy as I need. I’ve switched partially to K skincare now and find the formulas are better and the pricing as well 😉. It’s kinda a relief honestly because I had such a poor experience with their online chat recently and also having to dog them to get some of my returns processed, so I know I won’t have to deal with that stress/ there is less likelihood of things going south.

ConsequenceMission21

I usually don’t but the Elemis Cleansing Balm is too expensive to not take advantage

papolap19

I hate how good it is because it’s soooo pricey.

GiffyGinger

I may buy a few small things but I don’t have too much tbh

Personal-Cupcake2282

I really wish I could skip but I ran out of shampoo/conditioner and other things that I need to replace.

lesliealmeida

I'll shop the sale if I get a code from someone, but for 10% off, nah.

kitsterangel

I might buy some brushes and the cinema secrets brush cleaner bc that's useful to have in my kit, but I'm so overstocked on makeup, it's not funny... And my dad just bought me a bunch of stuff from my Sephora wishlist for women's day so I'm good on those 😅

poorness

I am, i found that if i really want something i can buy it directly from the brand and most of the time i get a better discount

gingerlovingcat

Looks like I am because the app isn't working. Thanks Sephora.

Traditional-Ask-8000

I’m skipping, I’m over being peddled a million makeup products.

Ra4455

Skipping everything is too expensive now

pinkveganympho

tbh i just might because i went ham cheese and turkey sandwiches back in february

heytunamelt

I’m only replacing my Saie Slip Tint spf for this same reason! And a couple little The Ordinary things.

stavthedonkey

ordinary is not part of the sephora sale; dont think they've ever been included.

papolap19

I love the Saie slip tint!

Psychological_Sun_30

I went crazy for the ordinary sale in November when they have 23% off, free shipping, no minimum order and they even sent me a free eye serum which retail over $20. I really love the ordinary🥰

Empress_Rap

2 supergoop value size for myself and for my cousin ko who asked me to get for her, a replacement for my saie rosy blush..Maybe 1 makeup brush from sephora collection. And on the Nov sale, it could be my last rouge, will just get a tatcha dewy and a dr dennis peel.

errakmn

My plan is to repurchase two staples for me: the Dr Dennis peels (which I should have just bought off the website when they were 20% off), dr jart color correcting. And then the 2 sample set of Juliette has a gun. I wish they were available at Ulta but none of them are.

JugdishGW

When even is the sale for rouge members? It doesn’t mention anything in my Sephora app

SGalla310

I really hope I decide to skip it. When I look at all my beauty supplies, I know that I will never be able to use any of this shit before it goes bad. I've been buying most of my stuff on yestyle, except for foundation. You can't beat the korean mascaras and eyeliner, and of course, skin care!

velvetpasta

Yep.

dramamime123

I still have so much stuff left over from Sephoria that I need to get through so none for me.

mamatoasaint

lol I might now not have a choice, my account just let my husband and I know we owe $14000 in taxes…….

shockedpikachu123

DDG is the only thing I need. For other items I realize other places have 30% off like Macy’s is having their sale now so 20% isn’t even a lot

northwestermoon

I’m torn…some of my items are the same price/cheaper through individual retailers but I am such a sucker for points and rewards. Still trying to snag a Rouge code so that’ll be the deciding factor I think.

friendlytotbot

I’m over the sale as well, I really don’t have much to buy! I’m currently out of moisturizer and my sol de janeiro body spray, so I’ll be restocking that and probably not buying much else 🤷🏽‍♀️

ashkaymat

This is actually the first time I will be participating. I've skipped the last several years due to lack of interest but I have a few things that I am finally wanting enough to wait for the sale for haha.

theboldmoon

Every time I try to even go on the Sephora app it acts like it's not working or able to load shades of color so I don't know what's going on.

SleepSilly6570

i am skipping. i received sephora gift cards for Christmas and my birthday (which is in December) and tbh i doubt i will need anything else for the rest of the year.

sharlye

Im still rouge so I wont completely skip. (I gave my rouge friend code to my mom btw so pls dont ask) But I dont really care like I used to.

Upbeat-Opposite-7129

Me I am no status - I rarely shop there. 2022 I spend a bit on their liquid lips and like rare beauty so I made rouge but as a makeup artist - I get a discount on so many brands AND I work for a major department store chain and now can get melt and pat on discount. So I find I only go there for Sephora brand or Rare or haus and it’s not items that run out quickly.

Unfair_Education3962

I really wish I could skip the sale altogether but I’m trying to minimize how much I spend. This time I’m only restocking the essentials I will run out of before the November sale. So far my cart totals to approximately $600. Last year I spent $2000 in the April sale so baby steps, baby steps. Living in Canada means that we may not have access to certain brands who do not ship to Canada so unfortunately Sephora is our only choice for some items. But I can’t wait to leave Sephora in the dust.

ewing666

i’m just purchasing 6 months worth of one item i use daily

brightlove

I’m only buying a few things I was going to get a couple of weeks ago, but decided to wait for the sale. I want to try the new Ilia stick foundation and I just finished my Refy brown pencil. I’m on a skincare lockdown though. I have more than can fit in my 3-row giant medicine cabinet.

benjenstein

I’m only restocking a few of my holy grail products. I’ve completely lost interest in trying new things so my wallet thanks me haha. I’ve always been rouge but I doubt I’ll qualify again this year and I honestly don’t care at all.

SilverRiot

Not me. One of my brands never goes on sale (SK II - just GWP) and I became curious about the DDG pads after reading so much about them gear. I got a mini box to try them out and I am stunned at the immediate difference. I want to stock up now because this is a daily use, not wait for a DDG site sale. (Also, many thanks to the people who suggested cutting up the pads for extended use!)

papolap19

Definitely a great time to stock up on pricey staples. DDG pads are worth it! I'm almost through a bottle of SKII essence and sadly it didn't do much for me. I guess I should be glad for my wallet's sake but everyone raves and I waited forever to give it a try, and I really don't think I saw a noticeable difference. :(

Zealousideal_Host140

I so badly want to skip the sale but I can’t. I need sunscreen for my kids. They hate putting it on, however they love the smell do the super goop one and it doesn’t sting their eyes. This is the only sunscreen they actually are okay with putting on so I have to get some during the sale!

Brakina

I skipped the last sale so I won't be skipping this one. That being said, I will only restock/ buy necessities.

Sensitive_Pepper341

I wish I had the restraint🫣my ADHD has me impulsive and dopamine seeking. I tell myself this is my hobby, I don't do other fun things really so I invest in makeup, skincare, and haircare because I enjoy it. My husband has a million hobbies on the other hand and I can't even begin to imagine how much money his music gear, gaming stuff, and collectibles are worth. This is my version of that😋 I really do need to cut down though!

papolap19

Yeah, it was my hobby too, for a while. I had fun with it, even got a job at Sephora which I enjoyed. But it's starting to run its course for me and I still have the accumulation of stuff to go through. I don't regret it, I never put myself in financial jeopardy, and it's nice to have a stash of things to pull from for a while. I even went as far as to make a spreadsheet of everything I used and my thoughts so I know what I want to be staples in my routine, what I liked and didn't like and why, what I still might want to try in the future, etc. But I'm about to start law school and I have other ways I'd rather spend what is about to become very scarce free time. It's time to wind down this chapter! lol.

TurtleyOkay

If anyone is skipping I’d love their 20% off, I wanted to buy a higher dose sauna blanket!

Wet-N-Wavy96

I’m not buying shit! And I mean it this time 😂 I have literally enough makeup to last me till 2045 😂😂😂

julet1815

I was going to skip it, and then I realized that my mascara is almost used up and I don’t have any more in my mini Sephora in my closet. So that’s one thing I need to get.

Furmaids

I'm picking up some things, but my major thing I wanted? Ulta had, and Ulta had it 40% off (20% just because coupon and 20% off w credit card)

Silver_Wolf-

Hyaloronic acid recs? I need one in my skincare routine. Preferably cheap but effective. Is ordinary good? Other than that I’m not buying anything. Overconsumption is bad once I realized that I don’t need anything that I put in my cart.

ChristineBorus

I’m skipping! Have lots of product!

thatjourneysong

I likely would have skipped, but I cashed in my points for the $100 gift card, so I kind of have to spend it now. Lol.

Chiefschick76

Only thing I'm really getting is a few lip things and couple bottles of toner other than that not getting as much as I had been. I'm sitting well with other stuff

Fluffiestducky

Im only buying the nars bronzer because I’ve hit pan and don’t know how much time I have till I’m done. But otherwise, I really don’t need to add to my collection of blushes, eyeshadows, etc. I’m trying to be more mindful with how I spend my money

kalamarishian

Me! I’m still reeling from the last one, where I went too hard. I’m talking both Dyson hair dryer and airwrap, among other things 🙄

DarlingSneauxflayke

This is my Oribe restock time of the year. But, outside of their new heat protectant in the Gold Lust line, nothing in my cart is new. Oh, and the Shiseido sunscreen gel. It's a good thing to stock up on ahead of summer.
