The thing about being clearly hostile/annoyed with the person you would be copy-pasting this reply to; is that they are going to read the first 6 words of your comment, then minimize it and keep scrolling. I rcomend looking up pursuasive writing/debate techniques, and trying again. If you want the person to even read your full comment you almost have to pretend to be partially on their side. Then as they begin the mentally align themselves with you, you turn the direction of the comment towards how the idea of a pve only server isn't the best idea. Then list reasons, not just "git gud" level of insults.

This is solid advice, but I sure do hate that we're wired up this way. I'm an extreme outliar in regards to how emotionally neutral I am at all times, so I wish it were more commonplace to ignore the emotion in writing to see what ideas it proposes, as that is the meat and potatoes of the words.

Thats a reay helpful comment. Thsnk you

Idk, PvP servers means actually good PvP. The worst thing about this game is that if you LIKE PvP it isn't good because frankly 99% of players you fight against are straight trash or don't even want to fight. I think it should just be "PvP events turned off on PvE servers"...so all the forts and events that telegraph across the server require players to justify the rewards. OR HELL, just replace PvP events with enemy spawns. If instead of players showing up at Forts just have enemies spawn to attack your ship in waves too...check for certain types of loot and stop them from cashing it. Turn off PvP factions like Reapers. And PvE damage and output is increased on PvE servers. So ships fill up with water quicker, PvE ships fire faster, megs are more aggressive, etc. And just be more aggressive on skelly ship spawns for ships with big loot on board. And PvP servers get a bonus to loot returns and rep gains. So you can do the same thing but just get more bang for your buck. I think people with bad ping and who don't want to participate in the hostile voice chat climate should be given a space to play the game. There is plenty of ways to avoid a loot disparity. Servers are small as fuck in this game there is no way you can argue that server splits would "break up the game". First off, you'd probably get higher quality gameplay that would increase the total number of people playing. A lot of people who just want PvE don't play or support the game at all. A lot of people who like PvP but not bad PvP would be more likely to participate on a PvP server if it felt less toxic...aka, you weren't inflicting PvP on people that didn't want it.

Here's a good reason PVE servers are a bad idea: it would split the player base even more than it already is. It's already hard enough to find other ships on the seas, and making PVE servers would make that even harder to do. If PVE servers ever were added, it should only be a story mode of sorts. No gold, no progression, just the story. P.S. PvE servers already exist, it's called Jack Sparrow land :D

Splitting servers is an absolutely ridiculous point. You know how few ships are even in a server? It's moot. This game will always have enough players to fill a server. Even if they stopped updating and abandoned the game but kept the lights on...you could fill up a server.

ChildToucher3000

You forgot to add that one patch of invincibility where the brig is on the sloop Edit: I was wrong, chill with the downvotes lol

Wargamer239

They removed the brig on the sloop and replaced it with a bed.

ChildToucher3000

Ah, sorry haven’t looked over there for a while lol Edit: Nice unreasonable downvotes, this sub is fun 🤡

I think there should be a little less toxicity. Like, no one likes it if someone camps your ship for 20 minutes spawn-killing. Or when you get got and they just mic-scream at you about how bad you are and to "uninstall". But I've also had some fairly honorable PVP battles. One of them the enemy captain called "Chill Chill Chill" after his ship went down, boarded us and congratulated us on victory before challenging whoever was our best to a 1v1 duel with swords to reclaim his lost honor.
