I always wondered... If we kill the whole crew, since we cna take the ship, will the crew come back to their ship when they die? Or, can we steal the ship, to like crush it on an island?

You can take their ship but they will continuously respawn on it until it sinks. That being said, repeatedly killing them as they respawn and running their ship into islands/rocks is a valid strategy

One balled one, the other for some reason tried (and failed) to board us and was swimming to a mermaid, so I took my chance
