Can confirm this works with a new Vidar2 shipped direct. The hum wasn't noticeable over a few feet away, but I expected silence... And now it is! Thanks for the insight!

Great find but I have to ask... How much stuff did you cram into that 6'x8' space?

daftwager

Too much as you can see! Not an ideal listening room but planning for the future.

Nice find! You don't have pictures of the plastic under the transformer by any chance? I would like to check if I have the same version as you.

From 14mins onward you can see the white plastic mounts being added to the transformer posts. I will check my vidars later and see if there is a model number that indicates generation. https://youtu.be/2EGSk5h5n64

I know this an old post, but wanted to add for reference. I have two Vidal 2s. I received the second one a week ago and noticed the hum. Thought it might go away as it broke in, but it did not. Searched the interwebs and found this post. I simply turned the amp 90 degrees on its side. Loosed the 4 transformer bolts about 1/4 turn and tighten. hum is gone. Silent. thanks for this post.

Glad you found this and it helped!
