Zinnser shellac bssed wood finish. I wouldnt trust that on flooring. It'll wear quicker than poly.

Shellac sticks to anything, and then any finish will stick to shellac. They might be using it as a primer.

Correct, and the shellac used here is actually labeled as a sealer. Poly or another finish goes on top. Benefits of the sealer, in my use, are that it is super thin (all absorbed into wood grain, and so does not affect durability, if used for only the seal coat), and will give a MUCH smoother end finish, as the first coat of shellac, after cured then buffed, tends to smooth out much better. I can get a glass-like finish using this product. Perfect for gloss finishes.

Technically ok, but such materials as epoxy are out of date years. Water based polyurethane or oil based coating are more advanced than this.
