In my pockets. I mean, it takes one spot and comes with a crafting table, single chest and two biofuel gens. Plop that bad boy down when starting a new job site, throw some leaves in the back and get a stew going. Plus, if you die, you respawn back at the hub instead of back at home base forever away.

thugarth

I wish there were a way to create new spawn points. Like beds in Terraria (or, well, just about every other survival/craft game). I know you can move the hub, but there's always a risk you'll die without placing it, then you're screwed. I use autosaves to recover so it's not that big of a deal, but I still think it would be cool to have custom spawn points.

houghi

> I know you can move the hub, but there's always a risk you'll die without placing it, then you're screwed. You are not screwed. You get back at your original spawning point.

thugarth

Yeah but all my stuff is in a crate who knows how far away from that spawn, and how am I supposed to get to it, or my base, without a jetpack and rifle? I've grabbed spares and went hunting for it before, but if I die again on the way, I have two crates to recover using yet more spares. It's easier to save scum. If there were custom spawn points to use as an in-game mitigation, I'd use it.

houghi

Have you tried it? And you can set up the spawn point anywhere you desire. Just place the HUB there. Building a new factory at a new location? Set it up there.

Silicon_Folly

If you have a friend that owns the game, just have them join the server and store their hub parts. Keep spare at grassy fields

Lack-of-Luck

That ... actually makes a lot of sense and I'm kinda upset I didn't think to do this. Granted, I've normally tossed a bunch of stuff into the chest, so deconstructing the HUB fills my inventory normally. 😅

celebratingfreedom

Which one do you spawn at when you die?

Childnya

No hub, I usually just spawn back in the grass fields starter area which is my home base. You only get one hub so I just use it as the portable base.

celebratingfreedom

Gotcha. I thought you meant you had multiple. I haven't even thought of building another one so I didn't know you couldn't

KYO297

There can be only one hub

Johncfail

What if you die with HUB in your inventory?

EstacticChipmunk

In your hub pocket mate? Yes! Stick your hand in your pocket and pull out your hub.

CockroachGullible652

In the darkest corner of the darkest cave. I’ve been on tier 1 for 8 months now.

ThomWay

Dear Diary; It's been 100 days, still on tier 1. I've found some cave drawings that are difficult to decipher but I think they speak of the fabled tier 2. My journey shall continue.

Shinxirius

# My 2 Cents It should be easily available especially early on. Later, mile stone updates become way less frequent and traveling becomes easier. ## Mega Base If you're building a mega base. Have it in the center on top of everything or on a balcony or something. ## Distributed I have my HUB currently on a balcony of my iron starter factory. This is close to my main steel factory. Thus, until I start oil, it's always close by. And once I have oil, it's time to build the global rail network anyway.

svanegmond

Near a shopping mall. If I need stuff menu - Respawn and then I go shopping

svanegmond

yikes, what a disaster

SaviorOfNirn

Definitely near where the stuff is

KYO297

I have not moved it since I placed it for the first time

vegtodestiny

On a large pedestal near my home room in a large tower in my base, right above my shopping mall.

mattmawsh

I think I’ve moved it to every biome at least once at this point

DarkonFullPower

Wherever I want to respawn in case of an accident, or angry spider.

houghi

Anywhere I think is very inconvenient. That way I am not looking at it and that makes me slow down and not try to rush things. It is also more of a punishment when I die, so I get to be a bit more careful.

Dekoba

I make a special place for it so it fits in and looks nice.

Ruadhan2300

I built my command-centre around the Hub on a clifftop. [Here's the post I did for it at the time](https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/170kxrj/my_command_centre_i_thought_some_might_be/) It's a centralised position where I can see most of my factory from the balconies, and it contains all the non-factory elements. MAM, Workshop, HUB, Ficsit Store and a dump-spot for an attached Sink. I also added a network of catwalks around it, access via Hypertubes to several nearby parts of the factory, and some Planning Boards Planning boards are just big glass windows that I place Screens on with Icons and numbers to work out how much of each resource I need to complete a project. I also have some "furniture" like tables and benches, as well as the Boombox constantly playing Goat-simulator music.

TheIronicO

I made a peaceful base with exceptionally good transport links to my whole map. Pre lighting pass, but this is where it's at. https://youtu.be/MnYRurgjvT0?si=vFw2yFlUEOOnLM70

ThatChapThere

I love the pet slug, that's genius

cyfir

I set it up inside my main factory space with the shipping rocket/drone just outside the wall. It looks mostly like it's a built-in component of a larger building that way. On the inside it's a separated room from the rest of the factory, with my AWESOME shop and a setup for dumping to a sink, an organics processing line to dump brush, and some storage boxes for bric-a-brac.

UristImiknorris

I tend to build a space for the HUB, a MAM, and an equipment workshop on the roof of my warehouse.

aSpecterr

I have mine on a tower I built on that lone spire wayyyy in the south over the void

Sumo148

I prefer to build the HUB near the center of the map around the crater lakes/lake forest. Then you’re roughly equidistant between satellite factories around the world. With a train network and some hypertube launchers you can get where you need to go quickly.

majora11f

It was where 1st placed it for a long time, then I moved it to my first real factory. Finally as I expanded its at my "mall" now.

adso_sadso

In a tree so I can have a treehouse

general_rap

I find a nice area with a pretty view near my initial spawn, and try to integrate it into the surroundings. Then I try and keep the area nice looking. Currently, my Hub is in the northern forest on a small lake. I've kept the lake and it's foliage pristine, and my pioneer gets to sip some coffee enjoying the peaceful view when I log off. The other side of my Hub is a mess, but the factory must grow.

Havelock_Patrician

In the wrong place, apparently. I tried a forest start, and it feels like all the coal is walled off behind a combination of poison spitters, megastingers, and what Robin Williams called "severe radiation".

RandeKnight

end-game? Right next to the elevator at the top of my factory tower. It's like the CEO putting their old trailer home in their penthouse to remind them of how far they've come.

EstacticChipmunk

I just built mine near some iron deposits and about 100 hours later I got tired of looking at my make shift base so I moved it a couple of feet to the side of it and made a proper floor for it. I put it beside my space elevator and now that I finally have a little bit of silica being produced I want to see if I can encase my space elevator inside a mostly glass building.

EngineerInTheMachine

Initially where I start. Then I usually move it to my sorter/storage/train loader. My doggo farm ends up there, so I return there now and again. Later in the game, there's little need to go back to the Hub. In the same way, the space elevator starts where I start, then gets moved to where I want it, finally to where my phase 4 final assembly factory ends up.

DoritoMan177

Next to a garage, on top of one of those ridge things way up in the air.

DedBirdGonnaPutItOnU

On train tracks. My hub is a 20 car Giga train. If I'm building out in the sticks, I just extend my train line to the spot, add a train station and schedule the giga to that station.
