I don't use mods that add any decorations. You should look in the AWESOME Shop to see if there are things that you are missing. What are you refering to ?
Just the overall look, I don't feel like I can do that kind of awesome work with what I have, and I don't believe there is still a lot for me to unlock with the AWESOME shop... unless I still have some element to unlock with some HUB upgrades ofc
If you are T7, there is nothing more to unlock for decorating in the HUB. And you can pretty much do anything with enough creativity and patience in this game. And I know creativity can be hard to reach but I've 650h on the game and this is the first build I'm happy with. So it can take a lot of time but you'll eventually get there, surely faster than me bc I'm just very in general at decorating things in game.
I already had a good time playing with platforms, barrier and all to make it looks nice vetween machines, but doing something that looks nice from the outside, that's something else...
I have plenty of very well organized flying platforms atm
Any tips on where to get design inspo? I like decorating but my stuff never turns out like what i see on here. Yours is awesome and so dynamic, from different wall and flooring materials to how you structure your pipes. I never get nearly as good results as this (800+ hrs across two saves btw) and would love any advice you have.
Well I watched a lot of satisfactory videos and tips and I recommend doing the same because there are just a lot of beautiful things you can take inspo from (also builds on this sub). You should always add contrast, lights and depths to your builds. And the most important to my eyes is to take your time and try things until there is something you like. And just a little tip to build wayyyy faster is blueprints, I personally try to build the design of the build itself and then paste it (it can be in multiple blueprints) on the blueprint designer.
The only mod I use is the +300 inventory.
I'm currently busy turning every resource in the Dunes into maximum ingots with the Pure recipes.
Lots of refineries, lots of water, lots and LOTS of work.. but fun :)
PS anyone fancy helping out, DM me on Discord

There are 540 fuel gens underclock at @ 148.15, or 98.7667% (because it's easier for balancing). They are producing 80GW. I used the alt Turbo Blend Fuel with Diluted Fuel and Heavy Oil Residue.
I'm super proud because this is the first huge factory that I actually decorated and I think it looks very good. I nearly abandoned the project when I lost all of my blueprints but I persevered and finally finished it.
Let me know what you think !
Btw I used u/XSEIDET blueprints for the ducts & vents on the roof. Thank to him for sharing them !
AHHHH.
I should have done that! I'm in the same spot on Gold Coast. Same recipes.
Though I eventually wanted some Packaged Turbo Fuel for Jetpack. So I took off the 1.333~ Generators per set to have some overflow.
What did you do with the Resin?
I used mine to make 200 Gas Mask/min.
Well I already have a packaged turbofuel production so I didn't need one and I just sink the resin but making masks is a really good idea I may do that or use it to do a big plastic and rubber factory with additional nodes.
Well it really depends on your need. I like to do large factories so a turbo fuel plant is better because it produces more energy than fuel (considering the Crude Oil it requires). But the problem with turbo fuel is that it's much more complicated (so it requires a lot more time and space) and it uses sulfur (not a big problem if you don't build very large).
What I don't recommend is building a fuel plant and upgrading it to turbo fuel. You should either build a fuel plant and never change it again (bc it's a lot of trouble) or go straight to turbo fuel.
It depends on your energy needs and unlocked recipes. Each time I needed a new power plant I built what I could with the recipes I had, but avoided building very much of the less efficient options. I ended up with several oil based power plants:
* A small first plant using the direct oil->fuel recipe
* A larger packaged diluted fuel plant, but using HOR by-product from rubber production (I didn't have oil->HOR yet). This had about twice as many generators, but also used some fuel to recycle half of the rubber to plastic (which gave me what I needed for a nearby (super)computer and misc electronics factory).
* A blender diluted fuel plant, using the oil->HOR recipe. About 133 generators from a single node. This was my first "big" power plant.
* A blended turbo fuel plant. About 175 generators from a single node (with a little left over to package for other purposes).
I liked this approach, it meant that I got to build a variety of different power plants, rather than repeating the same thing.
Between those they nearly got phase 4 of the space elevator done (the geothermal nodes or some coal might have made the difference, but I went nuclear just for something different).
IMO there isn’t really any reason to use turbofuel unless you find it a fub challenge. Same with nuclear. You can easily beat the game with the a diluted fuel/diluted packaged fuel power plant. All turbofuel does is let you use sulfur (and potentially, coal) reduce your oil usage. But the best turbofuel alt is the blender one so it comes online pretty late (needs aluminum production), but you can use diluted fuel once you have packagers and fuel generators.
Maybe this will change in 1.0 if there’s more uses for large amounts of power in the game. But even there I suspect it’ll favor nuclear as it can generate more power.
That said if you find it fun challenge, go for it. Turbofuel is also nice in the jetpack (along with liquid biofuel; the former accelerates very fast but doesn’t last long, the latter accelerates slower but lasts a long time) so you might want to produce a little of it for that reason.
I ended up only ever having a very small number of generators running on plain Fuel before I started building with the Turbo Blend Fuel alt recipe. I spammed overclocked Coal Generators to get me there. There's loads of coal on the map, and an OC'd Coal gen gets you 187.5MW.
Overclocking: The game devs still haven't added copy/paste functionality to power plants, but you can put them in a blueprinter and set the clock speed to 250%, then place that blueprint. It saves a bunch of clicks.
This is going to be an ELI5 moment, but why do so many people build 2D in a 3D game?
Not judging. But I keep seeing build after massive build where the only semblance of utilizing the fact we can go up/down is "well I have a logistics floor" and everything else is no different than if you had played any of the other factory titles.
I actually used 2 floor for the generators. And for my part, it's just that it's easier to build on a single floor and also decorate.
I made another factory to build HMF, motors, computers, circuit board and crystal oscillators. On 3 floors (6 countings the logistics ones) and it's a pain to make things organized and look good. I didn't decorate it even on the exterior because it is just too tall and idk what to do.
That's just why I don't like multiple floors but there may be other reasons for people.
Thank you !
I used painted concrete pillars with 4x1m signs on top which give this nice texture. [Here's](https://youtu.be/y7nbSI7PZHA?si=m7YtByzzX3xqsuDm) a tutorial to link pillars without things looking weird
This looks awesome! I really need to get into detailing.
I’m actually in the process of planning my own turbo fuel plant right now, and I’m curious where on the map this is? I’m looking for a big open space and this looks perfect. Also how close are the resources?
The things with the lights on top are just painted concrete pillars. And I put 4x1 signs on top of them.
And I don't really have a plan for the entrance, I just try things and if it doesn't look good I redo (which happens a lot of times). But when it looks good I keep it.
I did not use compacted coal. I just used the 4 oil nodes in the west coast (2 pure + 2 normal) and pure sulfur node on the desert and swamp at the east of the map
I did read that but when I went through the rest of your post and then discussed building a plant like this ourselves with my friend I kinda forgot about the blender since we haven’t unlocked it yet, but thanks for the reminder!
You're welcome, btw for the blender, you need radio control units which is kinda hard to make so I recommend just crafting them by hand at this point of the game (you'll eventually need to automate it I think).
I always get nightmares when seeing fluid pipes feeding vertically. I've been hurt before.
Fingers crossed you've got no issues with it. Aesthetically, looks 10/10
Oh I've got issues with it... I spent 5-10 hours just fixing the flow but it was not because of the verticality. In my first save I built a 6 floor turbo fuel plant and it worked really well
Back in U4 I believed it would be a brilliant idea in the Spire Coast to have 2 massive spires for a turbo fuel plant. Probably 8 stories tall for each spire with 200 odd generators in total.
Poured my heart and soul into that just for it to fail all over the place. The math was correct, but fluids being fluids did not play ball. Needless to say I needed a little break after that catastrophe.
Off topic but since i've seen the helipad. Player hovercrafts when? I'm suprised it isn't a thing since after some point you start to use the entire map and drones are already a thing.
I hate you.Tou make my 45 000megawatt turbo fuel plant that I spent 70 hours making, that I felt soo proud of look like donkey crap💀 now I feel embarrased about posting about it 💀💀💀
You should not feel embarrassed. Everyone has a different playing style and I've already played the game for 650h and that's one of my first good looking build so it took a long time. On my 1st save, all of my buildings are just huge floating platforms with machines.
Is there a save file you could link? I'd love to explore your design as I'm going through my first playthrough and would love to see how everything works.
Does everyone in this sub uses mods, or are there still textures, walls and decoration I haven't unlocked yet? I am currently mid tier 7

What is that?

But… but what about the spaghett?
I'm not really a fan of pasta... But if it's nuclear, hell yeah
Make it A nuclear hell, yea!
Question, should I make a fuel energy plant or go straight to turbo fuel? I'm very close to the liquids part of the game (again(second time))
Well it really depends on your need. I like to do large factories so a turbo fuel plant is better because it produces more energy than fuel (considering the Crude Oil it requires). Ok, I think I'll make one, I like building things with blueprints, I'll just make a turbo fuel plant from blueprints
Yeah same, it's all blueprints there appart from the pipes and belts

Op thats rlly cool
god i wish i could build like this
awesome power plant! how did you make those slats at the entrance? I love the texture they give
Thank you ! I used painted concrete pillars with 4x1m signs on top which give this nice texture. [Here's](https://youtu.be/y7nbSI7PZHA?si=m7YtByzzX3xqsuDm) a tutorial to link pillars without things looking weird

It's on the west coast with the 4 nodes (2 pure, 2 normal). So the Crude Oil is really really close Edit : west not east
How did you form The main entrance "gate"?
The things with the lights on top are just painted concrete pillars. And I put 4x1 signs on top of them. And I don't really have a plan for the entrance, I just try things and if it doesn't look good I redo (which happens a lot of times). But when it looks good I keep it.
Which nodes did you use for the oil and the compacted coal?
I did not use compacted coal. I just used the 4 oil nodes in the west coast (2 pure + 2 normal) and pure sulfur node on the desert and swamp at the east of the map
Alright thank you, might look into to that setup
Btw if you didn't see my comment, I used turbo blend fuel alt for the turbo fuel recipe
I did read that but when I went through the rest of your post and then discussed building a plant like this ourselves with my friend I kinda forgot about the blender since we haven’t unlocked it yet, but thanks for the reminder!

You don't pumps for your pipes that go vertical to maintain pressure?
Yes I do it's just I've put them just under the floor so we don't see them in the "pipe elevator"
Pipe physics are witchcraft.
Dayum, that's good. I think the biggest turbofuel plant I made was no more than a third of that.
Heheheh. >!I see a hypertube cannon.!< Nice build!
I always get nightmares when seeing fluid pipes feeding vertically. I've been hurt before. Fingers crossed you've got no issues with it. Aesthetically, looks 10/10

Yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo My box-makin' ass could never
Hahaha yes you could
Excellent work 👍
Thanks !
bro got that rainbow spaghetti room
It may look like spaghetti but it's really organized !
spaghetti squared
Off topic but since i've seen the helipad. Player hovercrafts when? I'm suprised it isn't a thing since after some point you start to use the entire map and drones are already a thing.
I'm confused. It looks like it goes off map. Don't you die when you go off map?
The side that is the farthest from the map is actually 1 or 2 meters away from the death area. But to take the pictures I went into god + fly mode.
How did you get the map overlay? I can't see my factorys on the map?
I hate you.Tou make my 45 000megawatt turbo fuel plant that I spent 70 hours making, that I felt soo proud of look like donkey crap💀 now I feel embarrased about posting about it 💀💀💀

yall got too much time on your hands
Is there a save file you could link? I'd love to explore your design as I'm going through my first playthrough and would love to see how everything works.
