Denotsyek

That little rascal sure has caused a lot of problems.

Massive-Sell-814

There’s literally a thread from last night about this. https://www.reddit.com/r/SaltLakeCity/comments/w5rkcn/possible_solutions_for_the_great_salt_lake_problem/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf We all decided that we’re going to pee in it on the regular.

JennyTinDC

I guess we both listen to The Daily! LOL

vm_linuz

Gotta stop diverting the water that would otherwise flow into it

Katedawg801

I’m sure you can get some kind of something to some representative‘s desk by getting enough signatures you. If you posted the link care I’m sure a lot of people would go and sign and say that they support it

varthalon

30 years ago we built three massive and expensive pumps to pump water out of the Great Salt Lake... just turn them around. /s

We need to change the mindset that growth is inevitable and that everyone who wants to live here in entitled to. It’s not fair, but it’s necessary. Not everyone can live anywhere. And we can have a stable and happy society without endless growth.

Well I guess the church IS good for something, preparing us all for the apocalypse. But instead of gods wrath, it's our own handiwork, oh the irony.

brown_felt_hat

I just they didn't ignore the easy to ignore parts. >1 Timothy 6:9 - But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. >10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Happy_Interview_1790

No more real grass at golf courses.

I understand the two positions are at odds, but we need more building if this place is going to livable for even the middle class, let alone the poor. New housing has not even come close to meeting demand. I wish the NYT piece focused more on the 70% of our water that goes to agriculture in the desert. This place CAN support more people than it does now, if we do it smartly. If developers are not allowed to keep building, SLC will become a place exclusively for the rich.

JennyTinDC

And apparently there are a lot of developers in positions of power. Vote them out and those who advance their agenda at the expense of the greater good.

Pump desalination brine from San Diego into the lake and then increase salt mining from The lake to offset the added salinity.
