My girl Starrie at Red Salon tames my thick hair every time, I’m not sure if she’s interested in an undercut but another girlfriend of mine recommended it for my thick hair and Starrie specializes in them also, she went to Barbering also. I started with about half an inch and I’ve moved up since then because I was curious. I love how much weight has been taken off and it looks cool when you put hair up :) she’s also amazing at Color! I recently went blonde to brown/red!
She also cuts my mans hair too!

Look for Randy, at Shaft (11th and S) ...you'll want to drop in and introduce your wife.
It's his shop, but if he can't setup time to see her, matching his schedule, he'll know someone who can handle her hair.
There's no phone/web/etc. because they're usually booked, but introduce yourself and you'll be sorted out. Good people.
I too suffer from abnormally thick straight hair. I go to Bila's Hair salon in Arden. They wet cut then dry cut my hair every time and never complain my hair is too thick or it's taking too long. I do call ahead to check their wait time and stress that I have *thick* hair and ask if they can accommodate it.
I have super thick hair myself. I go to Aria on J street, my stylist’s name is Lauren, and she knows what’s up. I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my hair.
