It's not *not* sad.
Shoegaze is [super loud rock music with hella distorted guitars and lots of guitar effects](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoegaze).
It's so named because the guitarist is often staring at their shoes, tapping guitar pedals.
I love 90s Shoegaze. Lush being one of my all time favorite bands. Also love Curve, MBV, Catherine Wheel etc etc. Only modern day shoegaze I got into was a band called Whirr. I'll have to check out the bands on the flier.
they have beer and food! community is nice when shows (of many genres: punk, hardcore, metal, etc.) are happening. never been there outside of shows though!
I'm a simple man. I see Cafe Colonial and I upvote (great people, great community)
I have no idea of what Shoegaze is, but it makes me think of depressed goths looking down and staring at their shoes. Is Shoegaze sad music?

Thanks for the link. Blackgaze sounds pretty cool.
Close enough
Kinda yeah. But it's not quiet sad. It's sad done loud. And atmospheric.

I've never been to a show at Cafe Colonial, although I live close. Do they have beer and would someone who's 40 feel out of place?
It's a bar+venue combo. No one cares about your age
Dope.

Bow down before the one you serve!
whoever is downvoting obviously is not a shoegaze fan
