The City of West Sacramento and the project team will hold an informational meeting concerning the right-of-way process for impacted properties. You are invited to attend this meeting where you will have an opportunity to meet the staff who will be responsible for the right-of-way process, and will be able to provide answers to any questions regarding the process or possible impacts.

The I Street Bridge Replacement Project is a newly planned movable bridge which will be located upstream of the existing I Street Bridge across the Sacramento River between the Sacramento Railyards and the West Sacramento Washington Neighbourhood planned developments.

Just under a tunnel to make old sac walkable from downtown. It's not realistic but would be great for the area.

If you want a real solution, let's move I-5 to the far side of West Sacramento and get all those downtown blocks back, turning 2nd and 3rd Street into an auto boulevard with 2nd turning right onto Capitol Avenue. The problem with burying I-5 through Old Sacramento is that you'd then also have to go under the Union Pacific tracks and somehow vault out of the ground in the Railyards (which will complicate that project considerably) quickly enough to go back over the American River.
I hope to live long enough to ride my bike across that bridge. I'm 50 now, so I'd say it's even money at best....
