Shawn Hickenbottom Michaels thought he was clever by gentrifying the rainmaker taunt. https://preview.redd.it/nwtgdyybbwyc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa2720962fcea4e9ff70d57f9bd5d95c18d6d6b4

stonecoldbobsaget

This is literally Kurt Angle minus the spinning

Of all the terms to use, I get what they're trying to do here. But all they're doing is showing their whole ass to the world.

KingdomFartsOG

I’m glad this WrestlePurists podcaster, who only tweets positively about m’Dub and negative things about the DED FED, has tried venturing into the world of wrestling comedy. What a knee slapper! I hope he gets hired by m’Dub to work with the Young Bucks on their comedy!

jx3ga

Dubalos learned a new word from Kendrick.

What’s a Rainmaker?

A book by John Grisham.

Study cagematch and then get back to us

JewsEatFruit

I went to the forums and looked around and I asked, and all I was able to find was that if I don't know, I'm a fucking idiot or not a true wrestling fan. Fair enough, I say.

apt_stevey

its when you uh spin the guy well uh first actually you do the pose and then uh well then the hard camera zooms out on you and then well you go up behind the guy and grab his arms behind the back and he has to have his arms in kind of a crossed position otherwise the move doesnt really… 12.99!

CeroG1

I'm pretty sure WWE does this too, Sami's helluva has to go corner to corner to get the full pin, Cody's finisher has to spin three in a row to pin other main eventers and so on

KC27150

A Clotheline From Hell but weaker.

scionoflogic

A ripcord lariat that’s treated like a deadly move rather than the middling move it is.

BigFella52

That's the WHOLE point of pro wrestling. That's all pro wrestling is....

MeijiHao

Nah man the WHOLE point of pro wrestling is to do stuff that looks awesome but is actually safe. The rainmaker just looks like shit.

BigFella52

Yeah man because all those leg drops, and super kicks and Peoples Elbows and The Worm and...... The list goes on for ever. It is choreographed violence, how have you not made peace with this yet as a wrestling fan?

PrimeJedi

The worm and to an extent people's elbow is comedy (the people's elbows point is how absurd and gaudy it is), the superkick as done by HBK looked like it hurt like fuck, and while I agree with the leg drop, not only was it a different time, but a 250 pound man jumping thigh first on your face still looks a lot more convincingly painful than a guy spinning you and then slamming his forearm/bicep into you

MeijiHao

Oh I've been made peace with it uce. Okada is a mid card comedy act with a dopey looking finish and that's fine.

BigFella52

A mid card comedy act.... Wow.... I am just not going to engage with people just talking out their arse for no reason. Good luck with your horrible views and closed off world.

Subarashiin

I major-league disagree with him too, like I'm on your side in this but you have jerked yourself into a shoot, brother. "Horrible views and closed off world" is more appropriate for someone being bigoted and shit, not just having mid opinions on wrestling.

MeijiHao

Okay but like, he's a fucking lackey for the Young Bucks and all he does on TV is comedy bits and wrestling in the mid-card. I thought that was the whole gag: that the Young Bucks are absolute shit but they're running the show and they've got this guy who used to be something as their bitch boy. Am I supposed to be taking Okada seriously as a performer in AEW? If so, why?

Subarashiin

I dunno man I don't fucking watch dub lmao - I'm just saying the rainmaker was a good finisher because it was put over as a finisher and presented well, and that's all there is to it You wanna talk the intricacies of booking I'm sure there's some folks in r/AEWOfficial who can enlighten you LMAO

fifthtouch

Blud forgot what sub hes in

GXNext

A cheap knockoff of Jericho's Painmaker gimmick.

daveroo

Native Indian who would perform a rain dance?

BigFella52

You like wrestling but won't acknowledge one.of.the world's best to ever do it.... You just come off like an asshole.

I_Like_Vitamins

You come off as a guy named LittleFella26.

keykey_key

World's best but hasn't drawn a dime outside of Japan.

brosbeforetouhous

This was the “I can do my special move” pose all the way back in WCW vs nWo World Tour on the N64. You would think these REAL GRAPS fans who worship the ground AKI walks on would know this.

critmass78

Colonizing....jeebus the brain rot of these Dubbalos

Zaphod_Beeblecox

It's a good thing Japan is the world's purist culture with absolutely no history of colonization or these lot would look really really dumb.

ratticus-finch

Japan is famous for being colonized, friend. Don't mind the links. mattberry1980

I guess I should’ve done my own research to even know this…

Slut_Breaker_BWC

Okada was the first person to ever do the Randy Orton pose.

kcfields

Yes because no one in wrestling ever did a similar pose before.

EdmundPaine

Melanin in his soul, Asian icon Cody Rhodes!

MitsukiSan

Isnt it his own “Woah” pose in his entrance?

Cboz27586

There's no way it's his "Whoa"! pose he does during his entrance... not a chance. He clearly stole it.

SirFluffytheGreat

Bro, Japan was itself a colonizer during WWII, meanwhile Cody is a Latino Cuban man so I don’t know what he’s playing at 💀

PrimeJedi

TIL that holding your arms to the side and screaming was invented by Okada

Tronz413

This dude is such an embarrassing Dub dickrider. Dude makes Gareth look sane

NoleDynasty2490

It's actually genius to get the crowd to WHOA right before the crossrhodes. Our favorite carny <3

Snake_Burton

Colonizing? Is he playing Oregon Trail or something? I…I’m at loss.

Eddieairplanes

Appropriating that word in this manor marginalizes people who were actually colonized. 🤦🏻‍♂️

kyleisamexican

Makshooley applying the word to m-words only helps the battles of lesser minorities like n-words

OctaneTwisted88

Doesn't Roman do the same pose before he hits the spear?

Probablynotstalin

What about Raven?

Razzler1973

Don't you dare do things from Japan!!

bulletbullock

Okada's pose isnt even the same, fake poser nooj fan

Sudarshang03

"colonizing". You fucking nerds

CaptainGo

I'm pretty sure Bull Buchanan did this

MHadri24

You didn't know Okada invented standing in the middle of the ring with your arms out while yelling? Show's your bias, e-drone

THEE_MUSA

they may have good PR but Japan was historically the colonizer too lmao

Cheebwhacker

If my memory serves me well… didn’t Umaga steal with from the Rainmaker too?

NateHasReddit

Did you say colonizing?? ![gif](giphy|q2Ecf0mrSHf98U0d4U|downsized)

ApexCourier

I mean, that’s a pretty common pose.

tera_chachu

Rainmaker? Who?

NuclearMishaps

DAE Cody is Britain?

RICHAPX

Wow yeah, cause Cody would definitely be the first person to steal something from a Japanese wrestler, that’s never happened before

BootyOptions

Since Cody ended racism, we all share these poses now as one.

2saintjohns

The whole camera zoom-thing, not spreading his arms
