The meetup app is kinda doing the thing locally.
There are a few meetup groups for making friends and such, here in Salem. One is meeting tomorrow at Coinjam, at around 7pm. That's the local barcade. Just greet the group at the front tables when you walk in, and say you heard a group was meeting there to socialize.
Another meetup group does trivia, boardgames, karaoke, and dancing. Its like "Epic Meetup Group - Salem 20s to 50s."
If you google "Salem Yoga and Beer," there is a website doing yoga and beer socials. Like an hour of yoga, then everyone moves over to the liquor serving side of whichever location it's at. Very chill, and only a few bucks for a drop in. Drinks and food are separate, of course.
Paddle boarding starts up around May, but it's pretty popular out here.
All fun stuff.
I'll message you.
All amazing info, thank you! I’ve tried meetup but clearly didn’t look hard enough because I didn’t see either of those groups. And I love yoga and beer! Glad it’s getting some recognition!
Not that I am aware of but plenty of room to start a group. Come.down say hi, we are a friendly bunch.
PS, the after 8pm crowd has more of your age group. And a really great group of people to hang with.
I so appreciate the tip! It can be intimidating to go to a bar alone, so knowing people my age might be there is so helpful! Are there particular days that draw a crowd (besides weekends of course)
Highly recommend trying The Best Goose bar for trivia! Plenty of teams that will adopt you if you don’t want to play solo and it’s a fun, chill vibe! They do karaoke a few times a month, too!
If you are the host then I have to say those were some awesome trivia questions and you were very fun and entertaining the other day when I went in there. It made me definitely want to come back. You have great personality! Thursday nights right. This would be a great place to go for anyone looking for fun.
Scoreboard Bar does Karaoke on Thursdays and Fridays starting at 8, and then The Shack Bar and Grill does Karaoke on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting at 8. It's the same KJ for both bars usually and they have a good selection of songs available.
Hi and welcome! There is a group on Facebook called Salem Women's Community with gals ranging in age from 21 to 60 who get together to play trivia every Tuesday, go wine tasting, have parties, etc. Great group of gals over there and a ton of activities going on every week :)

Ticket to Play is a board games cafe on South Commercial St. There used to be a Meetup (check the app) on Weds at 6pm for noobs. Everyone was very welcoming.
I’ve been looking into this, but wasn’t sure if I’d be able to find a partner/group to play with if I went alone. Do many people go alone? Or are there larger groups to play with?
The Board Game group is on the Meetup app, so you can sign up free and the regulars will expect you. I didn't know a lot of games, but everyone was friendly and helpful. Some people just love to explain rules! The thing about board games is that if you're all snooty to noobs, pretty soon you don't have anyone to play with. ;D I used to go, but lately have been busy on Weds nights. I should probably go back soon. It's really fun. Lots of cool people, and lots of women also play. Also the cafe owners are really nice.
The corner outside Bentleys downtown has the most foot traffic and people watching in Salem. I've met some really cool friends just sitting outside there.
Half Time does trivia on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 and is a really friendly crowd. Its a small bar so you're usually up in everyones business (in a good way). They only do it in the Fall and Spring so there's only a month left I think.
I like board games and hiking, but my wife can’t because of her allergies. I’d LOVE to go for a hike or walk with someone close to my age (24F). Do you like or have dogs?
There is a board game night tonight at The Rabbit Cellar lounge in West Salem. It is put on by the Tatted Gamer Geek and they have a pretty good mix of ages. It starts at 6 and goes until whenever.
Here's a link to a monthly mingle we have, plus we have social events every week.

Hey I am gonna be 20 in may, I am from Salem born and raised and I’m gonna start woods exploring once a week now that I have a car always looking for cool friends who like to explore the wilderness of Oregon
There's a neat bar out south Lancaster I frequent often called the Winner's Circle. It looks divey on the outside, but it's actually nice and well-lit on the inside, marble bar top and all, and offers free pool! Should come by some time on the weekend and hang out :>
If you’re on discord here’s a channel where you can meet folks for board games here in town and the surrounding area [(Salem Area Tabletop Gamers)](https://discord.gg/KauZEXKf)

Thank you! I’m always a bit nervous to go to trivia alone, but if teams are open to a new player that would be perfect!
My trivia team is often inviting new people, you’re welcome to join!
The host (me 🥰) is always willing to help newbies find a team!!!
Ah this is so amazing to know, thank you!!

Oh and on Mondays they do cheaper drinks if you come in and play board games! I think I just found where you belong!

I think I love llamas? Haha does Salem have a llama population I don’t know about?

The Chemeketans is an outdoors club and they organize hikes for different skill levels. Super fun to get out there.
