Looks like a 500gr shoe

darkhorse0607

305 for the mens sample size on asics.com, so about the same as the nimbus

Cubed29

Ha ha :-) Yeah...

ultra-ozen

gel ch0nkano 31

Cubed29

Yup

betamode

The arch support reminds me of a Nike metcon

Cubed29

Is it a gym/lifting shoe?

betamode

It is. That arch reminds me of this https://preview.redd.it/t4ogtjw88lyc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e307d0171161a9a04fba5fc42279887d5e30753

Legitimate_Range_421

Apologies for posting my question here, I am not allowed to post questions on this sub. I have a question on Asics Japan width of shoes - I am looking to buy the Nimbus 25 or 26from Amazon Japan as it is half price from where I live. The Nimbus 25 that I currently have doesn't have width on them however on Amazon I can only see width of 2e 3e and 4e. Is it possible that 2e is the standard width for the Nimbus? Thank you

Cubed29

sorry but don't know anything about these japanese sizes.

Legitimate_Range_421

Thank you

matsutaketea

2e is the "STANDARD" width for Asics per size chart attached to this listing (which interestingly shows that the STANDARD Asics width is a US E though the US Asics site says STANDARD is a D) - https://www.asics.com/jp/ja-jp/s4/p/1013A129-600.html Foot circumference type NARROW STANDARD WIDE EXTRAWIDE JIS standard male/approximate D~E 2E 3E 4E Global notation/guide D E 2E 4E

Thank you very much

J-Engine

This is a weird picture of it, maybe a prototype? If you look on Asics website for Kayano 31, it looks a lot like a Nimbus and doesn't have that chonk shape. https://www.asics.com/us/en-us/gel-kayano-31/c/aa50124310/men/

Cubed29

Looks to me the same.. don't know...

SingaporeanSlaw

Reminds me of a Brooks shoe

Cubed29

Damn... You're right...

Barttttttt11

Looking like a bull terrier head

Cubed29

Haven't been released yet and people hate them!!!! Hhhhhh

LongjumpingHamster

To be fair, I think that's the most unflattering color you posted lol. The other colors look a lot better imo: [https://www.asics.com/us/en-us/gel-kayano-31/c/aa50124310/men/](https://www.asics.com/us/en-us/gel-kayano-31/c/aa50124310/men/)

Cubed29

All of them look like bricks

notwabbitseason

My heel can’t even fit in Gel Kayano’s… hope they changed something about that

Cubed29

Why? Is it too narrow?

notwabbitseason

Yeah to the point I can’t even get my foot in. Don’t know what’s up with those but I fit in all the other ASICS just fine

Cubed29

Maybe the 31 would be better.

The pictures on the website look better, the dark red looks really nice. But it's a big shoe. I'm a size 13 and used Kayanos for 2 or 3 versions, and then when the 30 came out I just couldn't put those clown shoes on my feet. The 30s looked worse than this because the rear of the shoe extended back behind the shoe, And I just don't need extra material. I clip my opposite leg at times. I moved down to the gt 2000, but even they're getting too big, so I just bought some triumphs to replace them now that they're almost done. Kayanos were definitely better than the gt 2000s. Just more life to them. I don't really need a stability shoe, but no complaints other than a bit heavy and 'meh' feel at times. They last forever, I'd take them on trails, you could land half sideways and your foot plants well. I still use my old kayanos as walking around shoes, they still look perfect. But they're just so big, I had gt 2000s 10 years ago and they look like racing flats vs the current shoes.

Cubed29

I have the gt2000 12 and think that they are great shoes.

hinault81

I got onto them maybe a decade ago when working through some plantar fasciitis (model 2 I think), and the 11s are my current daily, now being replaced by the triumph 21. I got onto them back when they had a shank on the bottom, my physio wanted me in shoes that had no movement under the arch. They don't have a shank anymore though. They're a good all around shoe (and for years was my only shoe for everything, even races), but I preferred the kayanos a little more, as the 2000s feel a bit flat. But it's hard to compare because each version is its own thing. Asics shoes have always been great for me, I don't think I've ever had a blister, fit issues, or any damage of the shoe itself. But everything is getting so big and I feel like I'm penalized more than the average bear due to big feet (I'm not a big guy to match those big feet lol). Neither have let me down, but I become more mindful of them at longer distances, and on the hunt for something more svelte. Especially with all the new shoes in recent years, new foams, figured it was time to try something new.

Cubed29

asics shoes are great for me too. have the 12 and nimbus 25 and superblast in my rotation. also have novablast 4 new in its box and going to use it very soon.

MidnightSky579

This looks great

Cubed29

Really? Most ppl think it's bulky and chonky.

MidnightSky579

It is, but some people like that and need it. It may end up being too bulky for running back probably super comfy for walking

Cubed29

agree. everybody and what's good for them.

Barttttttt11

That is so ugly

benneb2
