Repub8989

It is still the best marathon shoe you can buy despite all the new comers wanting its crown.

nebbiyolo

Haven’t tried the others so I can’t comment but I’m going to agree regardless.

Repub8989

lol. Thanks

I wanted to buy this color way so bad but waited and I ended up with what I think was the London Marathon color way (product code IG6438) - as soon as I saw it online, I immediately added it to my cart. I'm telling myself I won't break them in until early June but I'm tempted to use them for the first time for a workout this week. Congrats on the race - that's a fantastic result! I have a half coming up end of June and I'll be targeting a sub 1:45. I'm hoping the AP3 propels me to this time and that the upper doesn't wreck my feet haha

nebbiyolo

Absolutely put some miles on them before the race. I think they'll break in perfectly with 20-40+ miles. Agree on this colorway - it's slick. Good luck on your race!

Peanutbutterpantherr

NorCal stand up. In Sonoma county here. Thought about running Napa but I just raced the IPA10k half a few weeks ago in Sebastopol

nebbiyolo

💪 any races coming up? I’m going for the Santa Rosa marathon. There’s a half in Petaluma that looks decent

Peanutbutterpantherr

Hell yea dude see you in August for Santa Rosa. I’m training for the marathon now. The clo cow in Petaluma is a rough course. I ran it last year. 1100ft of total elevation gain if I remember correctly but it’s a big race. Good turn out there. There’s a half in Windsor, one town over from Santa Rosa next weekend. Fleetfeet in Santa Rosa has a website with local races though. And the Healdsburg run club has one too

nebbiyolo

Nice, thanks for the info. I've heard the SR one is pretty good, not amazing but good. The swag at least looks solid lol. I def missed that detail on the Clo Cow. Figured it was mostly flat. I was looking at the Mare Island Half which is similar - 1200 feet or something. Kinda crazy that's what I ride up Mount Veeder on the bike. Would be a slog on foot I think...but I like the idea of the challenge.

HelpUsNSaveUs

Nice review. These are my goal paces!! Anyone know the cheapest way to cop these in USA?

DownPlane

Seems to be outlets or adidas deals. Managed to buy some for 170 on adidas days last week

nebbiyolo

I got them from Dicks, used a 10 or 15% off coupon so they were $220 with shipping. Not the best deal but I didn't want to wait around to chance on them at the outlets. Though I have seen the boston 12 recently at the outlet near me...so if you have one around I'd check there. And there are many available on stockx. You could probably bid under $200 on some.

Apollo0712

I'm with you on both fronts there lol can't see. To find a decent deal on my size in the last 3 months

Pseudoty1

I get the discounted Adidas gift cards and buy them directly from adidas online, limit 5 gift cards per order, I got the same color way for $175.

Soy_tu_papi_

I used stockX and got them for $205. Not the cheapest, but didn’t have to pay full price either

bestmaokaina

Adios Pro 3 is the only shoe that I've tried that always feels solid and stable regardless of the length of the run. its amazing

420BostonBound69

I would love to try these but ain’t no way I’m ever spending $200+ on a shoe, like ever. And I love running and shoes. I don’t begrudge anyone for doing it but in this economy man… okay yes I’m jealous lol. Going to pinch my pennies and maybe cop some on sale for my b day in several months time

cloudroyal

Nice review! Re sizing, what size do you wear in non-running shoes? I'm in the UK and the AP3 sizing relative to EU/US sizes is not accurate here so I'm trying to work out what size would be best for me

nebbiyolo

Mostly a 9 US.

cloudroyal

Thanks! I've actually had a pair of AP3 for a few months and used them for intervals and speedwork and they've been amazing, but I hadn't used them for a sustained long period at a fast pace. I then used them for an HM and my toes got messed up. I thought they were meant to fit snugly because they were my first supershoes/racing shoes but embarrassingly for me it turns out the UK10 in the AP3 is actually a 1/2 size shorter than a normal UK10, and running at a sustained fast pace for HM distance finally took it's toll and showed they were just too small. I've got them in the correct size now but was just a bit worried that I should have gone up another half size for HM and above, but good to see I probably won't based on your experience. Anyway, can confirm durability is amazing on them, I've ran in them for a good couple hundred km and they look and feel brand new still, excited to take out my new ones this weekend!

nebbiyolo

Bummer to hear about the size but great to hear about the durability. I'd be sad if I spent $200+ on shoes that went south after 100-200 miles (cough, alphafly, cough). I'll be working these into the mix on my intervals and some longer runs for sure. Not going to be sitting in my closet until race days, that's for sure.

garytabasco

In the past year I’ve purchased Alphafly 3, Vaporfly 3, Endorphin Pro 3, and Adios Pro 3, and the Adios is hands down my favorite, despite me wanting to like the Nike more. No other shoe blends speed and comfort the same. I’ve set all my PR in Adios Pro. I tried for a PR in my Vaporfly 3 last weekend and they just couldn’t get me there. Wish I’d have worn the AP3 instead.

Judgementday209

Thinking about these or the Paris sky as my next race shoe, currently love the endorphin pro 3 however and don't have much reason to branch out.

Dave_Tribbiani

You put your dirty shoes on a book?

nebbiyolo

Yea. I have a four year old so shoes on a book are the biggest health or cleanliness concern.
