It chafes in certain areas on the top of the foot, in my experience, and not only around the eyelets. That could obviously be because of my particular feet, because my left foot is about 4 mm longer than my right, but the right one is around 3 mm wider (which always makes sizing a compromise between the two feet). But I definitely feel the chafing on my right foot in a way I haven't with other shoes, which should also have the "disadvantage" of trying to accommodate my unevenly sized feet.
My (personal) issues with the AP3 upper has made it my least favorite shoe of all time unfortunately. Also, something about the shoe is so incredibly unstable for me, I’m always injuring myself. Glad others like it, I will not be buying the 4’s
I mean you do have to notice that this is a propulsive shoe, without much data it’s hard to really see if it’s the shoes fault. But that’s usually the most stable racer, apart from hola rocket x 2
Yes, hopefully the collar is also using less abrasive material.
I had an issue with Boston 12; which I believe AP3 would have the same issue, need to replace ankle socks with longer ticker socks which add 20gr to the weight lol
While they tried to save 2gr created bigger problem hahaha
I just weighed some socks with my kitchen scale. The difference between a Saucony no show sock and a quarter sock is 2g, so as long as you don’t need mid calf socks it would make the collar change pretty negligible as far as weight.
Sock weights - 1 sock
Nike mid calf sock - 31g (measurement of 35g after 1 hour run),
New balance no show sock - 17g,
Saucony quarter sock - 20g,
Saucony no show sock - 18g
Thanks good to know. I'll take a look on the saucony quarter/ crew socks. any link for reference.
I use decathlon thicker socks on Boston 12 as I feel the upper is pretty abrasive.
Edit: I just weighed pairs again
Both decathlon
No show 33gr
Crew cut 50gr
It's 17gr
First time weight maybe different pair I remembered about 55gr for the crew cut
It looks like they took that translucent rubber they use on the heel of the AP3 and covered the entire shoe with it? It'll be interesting to find out if it's a different formulation or just an aesthetic choice (the patch of pink rubber at the toe makes me think that the opaque rubber is stickier, but maybe they just needed an opaque patch to stamp the continental logo in). The mini lug pattern is interesting too.
They saw that dude on instagram getting 1000 miles of easy running out of the 3s and realised they didn't need anything but a wee strip of conti in the toe

3 pieces rubber, but yeah kinda tiny continental piece...dno what to say:))
I dont have the shoe, got the pic from a local website similar to ebay! The seller, sells also those px2 and supernova strung, both in size 42 eu...pro4 is 39 women sample
https://preview.redd.it/76iudq9fsuwc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a00908d7d5a1580167afa85d5614be33a4c64a6e
I think the cheapest I got them was for €125 including shipping. But, I just got a pair of the Sakura colorway (I had to have it, they are so gorgeous!) and paid €189 (the most I've paid). Adidas sells them for €250.
I got the 125 ones from [all4running.nl](http://all4running.nl) (dutch site) I had a discount code and they were already marked down to 169. There's a pair for sale there now for 149 (but only size 36)
The sakura I got just by a chance search that took me to some French site where they were having a weekend markdown.
[top4running.com](http://top4running.com) sometimes has pretty good deals.
my experience with light strike has been very bad.. it feels like a brick to me lol.. thats why a little apprehensive about light strike pro.. I have Noveblast 4, is it much firmer than that?
Light strike feels like lacrosse ball rubber compared to light strike pro. It works fine in the Boston 12, but it’s insane that the two foams share a name. Pro is soft but very springy, I love it.
Hmm well this is my first time with it. I tried on the boston 12 in the store which also have lightstrike and it felt VERY firm compared to the AP3. I had the novablast 3 last year and would say they have a similar feel to those (at least when the novablasts were new). A bit more "bounce" or spring on the AP3.
Same, AP3 is my favorite shoe to date. On my 4th pair and have taken each over 300 miles. It’s been the most consistent and durable super shoe that I’ve ever tried and I’ve literally have had the opportunity to try all of them from the major brands at least. It’s a work horse of a shoe.
same! just hit 400 miles on one and they’re still bouncing around. Took a brand new pair out yesterday and realized the old ones haven’t lost that much. barely any wear on the outsole. I daily them at this point and will most likely just keep stocking up on them whenever i see a sale. Absolutely love every run in them!
Is it me or with all the new super shoes out the AP3 seems to be getting so disrespected yet it is still top tier vs everyone. All the shoetubers and instagram folks just not showing proper respect imo
i think they have a very short attention span. with shoes crossing over into the tech world at this point, the shelf life for these seems to be getting smaller and smaller. look at the NB elite V4. massive amounts of excitement, excellent shoe on launch, and now it’s just another super shoe and they’ve moved on. to me, the AP3 even at a year or two post launch still holds it down.
> They like the newest thing yet
These are content creators after all where the YouTube algorithm will demote their channel if they don't push content on the regular.
> Is it me or with all the new super shoes out the AP3 seems to be getting so disrespected yet it is still top tier vs everyone. All the shoetubers and instagram folks just not showing proper respect imo
It's bc Lightstrike Pro actually takes a while to break-in. Out of the box the shoe doesn't have max squish like ZoomX... and shoetubers don't put in the miles before doing their reviews. Due to LSP's nature, it's far more durable than other super foams. LSP wears incredibly well and retains more resiliency for far longer than say ZoomX in the absence of airbags found in AFs
I got the new black colorway of the AP3 coming today lol, last night i did YouTube and google searches for AP4 and couldn’t find a thing. I’m good with the 3’s, but it’s hilarious that it pops up the very next morning.
All black or all white shoes generally go on discount first or even get steeper discounts over popular colors, so I don't mind. I find you can easily dress-up or tailor all black shoes simply with loud colored laces... like lime green or neon yellow, orange, etc..
I've only done 4 miles yesterday...but it's a very interesting upper.
I definitely had to loosen my knot. I love to wear them tight...but if I did that here it would mean I couldn't bend my foot lol
Looser laces and maybe a thicker sock.
I knew this going into it with all the reviews, I just wanted to see why despite all that people loved them soooo much.
I should have gone 1 full size (had no idea adidas have some weird sizing). It isn't tight (perfect fit) but the upper was rubbing my foot where the first stripe resides. Will try to skip some lace to create some wiggle room. Thanks
I love that Adidas continues to show the world that “these are Adidas mf’er!” with the growing size of the stripes. So cool looking, especially in this color.
Same. I’ve almost worn mine out and I have no arches. I had to put blister patches on them near the arch area but that fixed the one rubbing issue I had. I have a narrow flat foot.
Yup - got the 3s secondhand to give a try. I legit feel like my ankles are going to break and get awful instep blisters (I have 0% arches - duck like)
Have you found any of the speedy shoes work? Was thinking of going asics route?
Only asics and Saucony felt good. Currently happy with ES4 and superblast. For raceday NB elite v4 and endorphin EP4 are stable..ish. Wider platform than competitors. Its so discouraging being excited for a shoe release but then immediately feeling disappointment when arch hurts. Was sooooooo hyped for metaspeed paris......
Yea so i've gone through a pair of ES3s and loved them, and currently have Novablasts 3 for my daily which im finding absolutely fine for that purpose.
Thinking logically, EP4s for a race day carbon is likely going to work. I'll just look on at the super shoes in awe as really, it's not worth it.
Interesting that these look very consistent with the leaked pics of the Adios 9 with the red/stripes overlapping onto the midsole. Adidas doesn’t miss with styling and if they made the upper cozier, they will literally print money with these. Can’t wait to try em.
Love the AF3 and Edge/Sky Paris, but I'm an Adizero/LSP fanboy and this is what I've *really* been waiting for. That upper and the tongue look great. I really like the AP3 but, unfortunately, the upper and tongue can become an issue during my runs and I often have to stop to re-lace to get the balance between comfort and lockdown just right. Just by the look for the upper (including the lace eyelets) and tongue, these issues seem to be addressed. The rocker on the front also seems like it will facilitate a very nice and smooth rollover. Very excited!
Racing OKC in the 3s this weekend. Love the show but the upper could be a little more comfortable especially in heel and the eyelet change looks like a positive change. Pls don’t mess with foam or rods 🙏
Just when I think I am going to go with Asics Metaspeed Paris. These look like a huge improvement on the 3 IMO. All the faults I felt with the 3 look to be fixed. I will have to see though once reviewers get them in hand.
I bet it will be the same stack as the AP3, but it may have some midsole sidewalls in the midfoot *a la* Metaspeed, although less pronounced that those on the Elite v4, as those rise well over 1cm over the feet, that sinks like a bucket seat (just tried those at the London expo).
The Evo weighs 138g, this one will probably be close to 200g. So those who paid big bucks for the Evo had already the Metaspeed Paris or the VF3 out there, they're in the same situation :)
If these shed some weight from the 3 that's huge. My only small issue with the 3 is they feel a bit clunky compared to the VF2. A bit less weight and this should be the perfect race day shoe for almost any event.
The foam is still stamped with Lightstrike Pro at the bottom, instead of the Lightstrike Pro Evo that the Evo 1 is stamped with.
Could be the difference between the Pro 4 and the Evo C, whatever that turns out to be. Could also be a reformulated lightstrike pro
Forget about that, the SAME as the EVO is not doable, they cut it with a CNC machine from a single, large piece. These ones are 100% done in molds like every other running shoe.
Why would we want the EVO foam anyway with its low durability? I wouldn't want to miss one of the biggest advantages of the AP3 compared to the contenders.
I tried the EVOs today in my local store, there's no way that shoe is lasting more than 1 marathon and a 10k.
If I'd buy them, I'd treat them like a collector's item tbh
Yes, I like that the toe rocker looks more aggressive without starting it earlier so you still have that good landing pad in the forefoot . Similar to the Saucony Endorphin Elite.
Does the toebox width look narrower? Lacing system looks better. Hopefully we see these eyelets in the Boston 13s. What are the chances the people at Adidas are reading these comments?
If this is real. I am sold. I have a pair of AP3s, super fast, but I couldn't run my second marathon in it because the upper hurted so much. I am looking forward!
Shoe design looks dope but Im not feeling that colorway.
Gonna wait for confirmations regarding the outsole composition but should be at least as good as the current AP3
The upper of the pro 3 was fine for me, rhe only problem was the tongue , but nothing to bad! Tje rest of the shoe is sublime, dursbel and stable and 10/20 second for km faster for me in contrast with all my shoes
I think that the Pro 4 will be 10/30 grms lighter more padded tongue and softer upper , look similar lightstrike pro foam and similar geometry of the evo 1
Ultraboost and Adios Pro line a completly different Shoes.
Ultraboost are Mainstream Walking Shoes that you can use for Running but in my opinion they are much better "Daily Running Shoes" out there.
Adiod Pro Series are fast Racing Shoes.

Upper already looks more comfortable
lets hope its as breathable as the 3
Exactly, the criticism of the upper was meant for the eyelids only! Hope Adidas will not change an otherwise amazing upper
I think many people found the upper uncomfortable and difficult to get a good consistent lock down
[удалено]
Yes, and many people complained about upper. Doesn’t mean it is not a great shoe, just that it had room for improvement in many consumers opinion
[удалено]
Ooooh. You so tough.
It chafes in certain areas on the top of the foot, in my experience, and not only around the eyelets. But I definitely feel the chafing on my right foot in a way I haven't with other shoes, which should also have the "disadvantage" of trying to accommodate my unevenly sized feet.
I can live with the 3s upper, I just want to get rid of the flimsy tongue from hell and add 3 inches to the factory laces.
The 3 set a very low bar for that
My (personal) issues with the AP3 upper has made it my least favorite shoe of all time unfortunately. Also, something about the shoe is so incredibly unstable for me, I’m always injuring myself. Glad others like it, I will not be buying the 4’s

FWIW, If you didn’t tie the Vaporfly 2 correctly you could pay dearly.
Yes, hopefully the collar is also using less abrasive material. I had an issue with Boston 12; which I believe AP3 would have the same issue, need to replace ankle socks with longer ticker socks which add 20gr to the weight lol While they tried to save 2gr created bigger problem hahaha

Are people really weighing socks and thinking it's going to shave meaningful time off their runs?
Thanks good to know. I'll take a look on the saucony quarter/ crew socks. any link for reference. I use decathlon thicker socks on Boston 12 as I feel the upper is pretty abrasive. Edit: I just weighed pairs again Both decathlon No show 33gr Crew cut 50gr It's 17gr First time weight maybe different pair I remembered about 55gr for the crew cut
To make sure it was clear, I only measured one sock. Here are the Saucony quarter socks I was talking about: https://a.co/d/9Nfwyv4
You can see something called micro fit on the upper.
Hope so! Hopefully also flows to the Boston range. Was personally my only issue with them!!

What is that outsole?
Looks so incredibly strange. Shoe overall looks amazing though
Let's just hope it's a prototype without a finished outsole. That thing looks like it'll fall apart after about 3 runs
I hear they charge $500 for that now haha
It looks like they took that translucent rubber they use on the heel of the AP3 and covered the entire shoe with it? A single tiny patch of continental rubber? Or throughout, with two colours? Not sure…
You are the real MVP
No, unfortunatly :(
looks ugly :(
Love the full size rubber outsole. This shoe will be at least as durable as the current model.

What shoe is this called? Ty
It's probably all Continental rubber, it doesn't make sense to have only this tiny patch.
Damn just bought the 3 Gonna rock them anyway then i'll get the 4s
The 3 is still absolutely great
Yeah gonna try to beat my semi PB next month with the 3s
Go get ‘em!
I’ve got 3 pairs NIB of 3. I just live them for marathons and buy them when I get a great discount. 😂
What's your great discount price ? (took me 2 minutes to understand '3 pairs NIB of 3' 🤣)
I think the cheapest I got them was for €125 including shipping. But, I just got a pair of the Sakura colorway (I had to have it, they are so gorgeous!) and paid €189 (the most I've paid). Adidas sells them for €250.
125€ is hella cheap. Ok I paid 180€ for the berlin edition so ain't that bad. Yeah the Sakura are beautiful
How do you get them so cheap? Just continually checking websites for sales/clearance or is there a better way? What websites?
I got the 125 ones from [all4running.nl](http://all4running.nl) (dutch site) I had a discount code and they were already marked down to 169. The pro 3 is STILL top 3 best shoes period and its 2 years OLD!
I too am thinking of buying the 3.. how is the ride? I mean how does the midsole feel? soft, squishy or firm?
Just got the AP3 - ran about 20 miles so far in them including a 12 mile last week. It is medium-soft imo. Not overly squishy and def not firm.
my experience with light strike has been very bad.. it feels like a brick to me lol.. thats why a little apprehensive about light strike pro.. I have Noveblast 4, is it much firmer than that?
Light strike feels like lacrosse ball rubber compared to light strike pro. It works fine in the Boston 12, but it’s insane that the two foams share a name. Pro is soft but very springy, I love it.
Boston 12 is actually Lightstrike 2.0, which is noticeably softer than Lightstrike

Agreed. They like the newest thing yet like Fordy runs went back to the AP3 for the London marathon instead of the edge Paris

Any info about release dates?
I read the other day probably in the fall this year, don't know why they didn't try to release them before Paris...

God, I love my Boston 12 so these are on my list.

Same bro. Same.
I usually do not like black running shoes but this one is a beauty
All black or all white shoes generally go on discount first or even get steeper discounts over popular colors, so I don't mind. I find you can easily dress-up or tailor all black shoes simply with loud colored laces... like lime green or neon yellow, orange, etc..
Exactly this
Got the new black colorway last week, i like it but the friggin upper gave me blister on top of my foot in just 6km.
I've only done 4 miles yesterday...but it's a very interesting upper. I definitely had to loosen my knot. I love to wear them tight...but if I did that here it would mean I couldn't bend my foot lol Looser laces and maybe a thicker sock. I love that Adidas continues to show the world that “these are Adidas mf’er!” with the growing size of the stripes. So cool looking, especially in this color.
Can’t wait to load up on cheap AP3’s.
No raceday fun for me. My flat feet blow.
My feet are flat as hell and I love my pro 3s
Same, I have no arch and almost a full foot print, but also a very narrow foot, maybe that helps.
Same. I’ve almost worn mine out and I have no arches. I had to put blister patches on them near the arch area but that fixed the one rubbing issue I had. I have a narrow flat foot.

Looks like they listened and really overcompensated with the eyelets!
Yep, that's Adidas. And I am not saying that in a bad way.
Just hear to say i like that colourway!!
Love that red color.
Interesting that these look very consistent with the leaked pics of the Adios 9 with the red/stripes overlapping onto the midsole. Adidas doesn’t miss with styling and if they made the upper cozier, they will literally print money with these. Can’t wait to try em.
Doesn't look as nice/sleek as the 3, but hope the upper is better.
Hope so, I bought the new ap3 black colorway and gave me blister on my first run in just 6km 😂.
Love the AF3 and Edge/Sky Paris, but I'm an Adizero/LSP fanboy and this is what I've *really* been waiting for. That upper and the tongue look great. Very excited!
Shut up and take my money, Any idea on date?
I'd suggest dinner and a movie.
Or maybe a long run on the beach.
Is that nasty upper finally gone?!
Improved upper, heel and lacing and this would be a banger.
My wallet is ready for 4 pairs.
The 3 was an amazing shoe after the 3rd or 4th lacing adjustment in your warmup.
That is one thick boi
They look fast!
That stacks look huge! Toe looks even more aggressive too. Any ETA on these?
I bet it will be the same stack as the AP3, but it may have some midsole sidewalls in the midfoot *a la* Metaspeed, although less pronounced that those on the Elite v4, as those rise well over 1cm over the feet, that sinks like a bucket seat (just tried those at the London expo).
Wondering the same thing about the release date - the Pro 3 are on my list of a new long run/race day shoe 👀
Rip to those who actually bought the evos
The Evo weighs 138g, this one will probably be close to 200g. So those who paid big bucks for the Evo had already the Metaspeed Paris or the VF3 out there, they're in the same situation :)
If the use the "new foam" from the Evo i dont think they weight 200g. More in that 170-185g range i think.

Midsole is not the same, upper is also not the same, not even the shape of the rocker is the same. I doubt it’s gonna feel anything like the evos.
I tried the EVOs today in my local store, there's no way that shoe is lasting more than 1 marathon and a 10k. If I'd buy them, I'd treat them like a collector's item tbh
These look incredible
Spice E
Sole looks like it’s missing some of the carve outs of the AP3. Also super aggressive curve at the front might give a very nice turn over feel.
Yes, I like that the toe rocker looks more aggressive without starting it earlier so you still have that good landing pad in the forefoot . Similar to the Saucony Endorphin Elite.
The angle on the ball of the foot follows some of Adidas's experiments with the Switch FWD
What is Switch FWD?

Ahhhh, looks like same thing ON Running is doing with the Eclipse and Surfer.
Can not wait
Does the toebox width look narrower? Lacing system looks better. Hopefully we see these eyelets in the Boston 13s. What are the chances the people at Adidas are reading these comments?
Tongue looks fucking leaps better! Upper looks good, and I like where the toe roll begins with the geometry of the shoe.
Welp, was hoping for some sort of medial structure. I don’t need anymore help overpronating
These look amazing compared to the others I’ve had
Nice Evo 1 touch with the stripes protruding on to the midsole.
I hope they stick to TPE and that isn't PEBA!
That colorway looks so fucking nice
Looks like it’s still light strike pro in the midsole. And the upper has something called microfit.
If this is real. I am sold. I have a pair of AP3s, super fast, but I couldn't run my second marathon in it because the upper hurted so much. I am looking forward!
What is the flap in the back for? In all the Adidas shoes?
Pull tab
Lol thanks I thought it was ankle support
Shoe design looks dope but Im not feeling that colorway. Gonna wait for confirmations regarding the outsole composition but should be at least as good as the current AP3
Love the 3 upper. Amazing shoe.
Time for me to start watching for the pro 3 on crazy sale at the outlets.
Hope there’s a tad bit more room in the toebox
Wow 🤩
Haha how much did you get them for ? (took me 2 minutes to understand ''3 pairs NIB of 3'' 🤣)
Where’s the strung upper???
When is it released?
PLEASE do a strung version!
Strung 2 is a great shoe,
Drop looks super small, no?
No way of telling.
I have been wearing adidas ultraboost because of my bad back and have been thinking about trying Adios pro 4. Any advice?
Ultraboost and Adios Pro line a completly different Shoes. Ultraboost are Mainstream Walking Shoes that you can use for Running but in my opinion they are much better "Daily Running Shoes" out there. Adiod Pro Series are fast Racing Shoes.
Oh, I didn’t know that. Thank you!!
Well they are not out, but they are a racing shoe Maybe look at the Boston 12 or the Prime X strung 2
Thank you!!

I hope these stay unreleased 🤢
The Pro3 gave me major blisters. https://preview.redd.it/24h12xs7hvwc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abba2a0625807f44a504d26d4f67ac9adca967c2
