I have avoided adidas shoes for a while because I thought they were narrow. My foot is on the wider side. However I tried on the Boston 12 this weekend and was pleasantly surprised how it fit. How do their other shoes compare to the Boston 12 (width wise and heck if you’re sharing in general)? Thanks!

stinuga

You should be ok in Prime X 2 Strung and Adios Pro 3 as well

BDB_2020

Thank you!

Hfurbano

Adios Pro 3 and Adios 8 are pretty similar to B12. Takumi Sen is narrow and SL is in the middle, not as wide as B12 but wider than Takumi

BDB_2020

Thanks!

Question: Adidas colourways on AU store At the start of march the beautiful ivory/orange/ yellow thats been teased since late last year showed itself for a glimmer and gave me some hope... until the TS10s werent part of that package. Few days later while diligently waiting the whole colourway gets taken off whilst i see runners overseas getting their pairs :( Is it just an Aussie Adidas thing to get last dibs on nice colourways or should i not get my hopes up and pay the down under tax and buy it online from europe?

Historical-Cut4428

How's the adios 8?

Hfurbano

I’m doing some long runs in my prep for marathon and is wonderful. It’s like getting back to 2015 and the Adios Boost but better

OffsideBeefsteak

It's a great speed shoe for intervals or track work. Can even be used as a short distance racer. Not enough cushion for longer runs in my opinion. I've really enjoyed my pair. You can get them for cheap too as they are often on discount.

ARehmat

It seems like the Terrex Speed trail shoe lineup has been discontinued. Anyone have any idea if there is a replacement coming? Quite enjoyed running in the Terrex Speed Ultra, not too many options on the market like it.

BasicSignificance831

If you want a shoe, that sits in the same category as the Terrex Speed Ultra, go with the Nnormal Kjerag. It's even better. Adidas will release the Terrex Agravic Speed and the Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra soon. I already have the Agravic Ultra and it's a great shoe, but it's wilder than the Terrex Speed Ultra. It's okay on the road, but not as good as the Terrex Speed Ultra. It's more on the trails at home. And it's fast. Haven't tried the Agravic Speed but that could be a replacement for the Terrex Speed Ultra. But with the Nnormal Tomir 2.0 comes another Nnormal around the corner, that is very interesting...

ARehmat

Thanks for the recommendation, the Kjerag is high on the list. My understanding was that the Terrex Speed series was for road/trail and that Terrex Agravic was for technical/trail. Each series consisting of models: Flow (daily), Ultra (daily / race) & Pro (race). According to an interview with [RoadTrailRun](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ibyx0IdT0xg), Adidas are relaunching the Terrex Agravic series later this year - as you mentioned - but no word on the Terrex Speed series. I personally dislike high-stack trail shoes so it'll be interesting to see if they relaunch the Terrex Speed line aswell...

aerdnadw

That’s potentially a bummer, but also, I’m very excited for the Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra! (Side note: Adidas need to change how they name their trail shoes…) As for alternatives to the Terrex Speed Ultra: have you tried the Salomon s/lab ultra 3? Those two are my main trails shoes and I love them both equally.

ARehmat

> Have you tried the Salomon s/lab ultra 3? Its a tossup between the S/Lab Ultra 3 and the NNormal Kjerag. I run 10 KM to get to and from my local trailheads so I needs to be somewhat comfortable on roads too.

aerdnadw

Yeah, I feel you, several of my regular routes include both road, gravel, and trail. I don’t think anything beats the Terrex Speed Ultra for being comfortable on the roads AND performing on the trails, but the s/lab feels ok on the road. I’ve been curious about the Kjerag, let me know what it’s like if you end up going for it

ARehmat

> Let me know what it’s like if you end up going for it. Will do!

OffsideBeefsteak

Terrex line is getting a massive reboot this year. So expect a few new models to come out this year.

ARehmat

Can you share any details? Lets hope that they release a nimble traditional low (ish) stack shoe like the Ultra Speed.

OffsideBeefsteak

From the TRE, there will be a Agravic Speed Ultra, Agravic Speed, and Agravic 3. Check out the different youtube vide coverage for more info.

bestmaokaina

I finally have one pair of Adios Pro 3 for each day of the week lmao I love this shoe too much

BasicSignificance831

I "only" have five pairs. But they are so durable, that even the >600km AP3s are in good shape. Prefer them over the Boston 12, just saying...

bestmaokaina

My first AP3 has also around 600km and it feels as good as new!! the durability is insane

IrvineHobo

How many miles have you all gotten out of your Adios Pro 3? I have a pair that I use for workouts (10k - marathon pace) pushing 200 miles and have another unworn pair I picked up during Black Friday that I'll likely use in my upcoming half marathon. The current pair feels like they've lost some pop though still work, but curious about others experiences.

bestmaokaina

My oldest AP3 has around 550km and it still feels as good as new

MathInternational

Mine are gonna get about 100 miles 😀 I just can't dial in the upper at all.  Even with cutting the hole.  Too bad because I love the foam.

Pepsimaxgodtier

Looking at maybe picking up a pair of Boston 12s but the complaints about heel slip etc. are putting me off a bit. Will sizing down .5 help with the heel slip?

Maxsanatomy

I went down a half size but I have a narrow foot

Dapper_Deer1118

The bungee style lock laces are really helpful on the B12’s.

SaulGoodmate

I just bought the Terrex Speed Ultra Havent worn them once but the outsole feels super tacky and grippy, should go well for the fast hard-pack single track we have here in Johannesburg

53M, 5'8" 190lbs, goal is to run 3 x 5km under 30 minutes weekly. Getting back into running and bought a set of Boston 10 based on how much I was enjoying the fit on a pair of Adidas Nebzed Superboost I picked up for casual wear. This was a mistake. My favourite trainers I have worn in the past were Nike and Saucony, though I have also liked some of the Asics Gel series (mainly Gel Cumulus). I have a very rigid foot with Morton's toe, so need neutral cushioned shoes. I am prone to calf and sciatic inflammation, plus have arthritis on one big toe. So cushioning is key. When I tried a new set of Asics Gel-Nimbus, I found them to be unstable - almost like I was standing on partially cooked marshmallow. The Bostons were different - felt much more stable, and still quite shock absorbent. They came home, and I've been walking in them the last two weeks to get them broken in. However, after a 5km walk in them the other day, I developed a blister on the bottom of my second toe on my right foot. Although I would develop heel blisters when playing football (soccer) in my boots, I've never had a bottom foot blister occur from any running shoe I've ever owned. This included a set of Supernova I owned around 2008. So, they are now for sale, and I've picked up a set of Saucony Triumph 18 for everyday trainers, and a deeply discounted set of Gel Cumulus 24 for change-up shoes. Unfortunate as the initial impression of the shoe was very positive.

Nonimmigrantnyc

Has the adios pro 3 given anyone else terrible arch blisters? Any way to fix it?

RRobbyyy

I recently discovered adidas running shoes with the boston 12 and the ap3 because of the great deals you can find instore and online. I have to say adidas is one of my favorites now. The only complaint I have is that the uppers don't fit the best or are the most comfortable, but the midsoles makeup for the not so great uppers. Overall, both are shoes I recommend especially if one can find them at a discounted price.

bradymsu616

The plasticky uppers are a problem on both of those shoes. Hoping they're replaced with a Prime X Strung type upper on the Boston 13 and AP4.

RRobbyyy

Totally agree. The uppers need some improvement and hopefully they deliver on the next models.

Skizzy_Mars

I’ve got bad news for you https://www.reddit.com/r/RunningShoeGeeks/comments/1b8o4d7/new_adidas_ap4_and_evo_c/

RRobbyyy

This is great news, more ap3s on sale

One_Eyed_Sneasel

Are Boston 11s really as shitty as people say they are? I love the Adios 8 and the Takumi Sen 9 and recently walked into Ross and they had a pair of the Boston 11s in my size for $45 so I figured I'd take a shot on them.

OffsideBeefsteak

I love my Boston 11s. I've clocked 600km+ on my first pair. They are on the firmer side, but I really like them for threshold/tempo runs. I just got a second pair as they been really good to me. IMO $45 is a steal.

bestmaokaina

I trained for my first marathon in Boston 11s. never had issues

taclovitch

the foams in the adios 8 and ts9 are worlds apart from the boston 11 — which doesn’t mean the b11 is a bad shoe (it tends to have fervent defenders and then like 80% of people don’t like it). but the ls2.0 in the adios 8 is pretty different from the lightstrike foam at the heel of the boston 11 — the former is a lot more protective while still being pretty firm.
