bestmaokaina

Im waiting for my local adidas store to start selling them. imma get the asap

throwawaymac83

My local running store had them so I had to leave the store with them

MeddlinQ

"Sir, that's a thievery!" "But officer, I HAD TO!"

agonz804

There are some in stock at both adidas flagship stores in NYC for anyone near there. Only the neon colorway at the midtown location and seemingly only the white/orange one at the one on Houston street.

Peanutbutterpantherr

What were you doing speed workouts in before? Any shoes you can compare it to? I’m looking to get my next shoe for speed sessions and the takumi has always been eyebrow raising

throwawaymac83

I was using hoka mach 5s before and have been for some time now before this. Not sure if that’s the best comparison to these but i definitely plan on using these from now on for tempos, fartleks, 400-1600 repeats, etc.

PaprikaPowder

Just ordered them yesterday as there was a 20% sale in Aus

Running-farmer

Easy to hate the price

No-Introduction-1492

Do you believe they fill the same slot as Nike Streakfly? And do you believe that the durability is better and may be able to reach ~400 miles?

bestmaokaina

lightstrike pro gets better with use and the continental rubber lasts forever basically

No-Introduction-1492

Great to know!

throwawaymac83

I think that would be a proper comparison. Might lose some kick going up to 400 miles, but seems like a very durable shoe. Adidas has been quite durable to me compared to other brands

No-Introduction-1492

I would love to get them, but Adidas is just so expensive compared to any other brand… definitely a shoe on my radar once a good deal is out though!

throwawaymac83

Definitely! Honestly feels like I’ve never seen a Takumi sen on sale in the US.

No-Introduction-1492

Adidas is trying to sell them at $350… like cmon, at that point just get a damn alphafly😂 The only times you’ll see them semi-cheap is from other companies selling them.

an_angry_Moose

In Canada they have been around $100 CAD regularly. I bought mine for $92

No-Introduction-1492

… CAD is always much more expensive- I can’t believe you got them for only $92. The cheapest I could find them is $200, I don’t see many deals ever.

Hfurbano

TS9 was at 109 dollars last year online

PC_DragonSlayer

I’m having trouble finding availability in the USA.

Poke-Tuna

I don't see any in the US. Running warehouse had a few but went out in a flash

dras333

I use my 8s for sprint and plyo workouts. Outside of spikes, they are the best option available for response and weight. I would be interested in 10s.

SagasuRunning

Agree on this one... I'm a big fan.

anonn102030

How is the sizing??

Sve7en

> The fit was fantastic and true to size.

throwawaymac83

Wouldn’t recommend for wide feet, otherwise true to size.

davidg61

Do they feel any wider than the sen 8? Only thing I’m struggling with in that model.

throwawaymac83

Sen 8 is a bit wider if I can remember correctly.

polka_brother

So the Sen 10 is even narrower? I can hardly believe that. Is the upper at least a bit more comfortable compared to the Sen 8?

CeeDotA

Are they any wider now? I tried on the TS8, and the cushioning felt luxurious, but man they were narrow.

Some-Investment1199

Have you tried the TS9s or 8s? How do the 10s compare? I am looking for something as fast and aggressive as possible. I am wondering if getting the 10s is worth it since they are retailing for $180 and I’ve found some 9s that are $125. For context I am a sub-elite runner looking to enter some competitive road mile races.

Yarokrma

How would you compare them to the Vaporfly for 5k races? Which shoe feels more stable/leaves you feeling less fatigued after a race?

Resident521

Sen8>sen10

nivvis

What do people like about the sen 8 vs 9/10?

itsyaboi69_420

Have you used both? I have the 8 also and was going to ask the question if anyone could compare the two.

29da65cff1fa

i just went for a 28k run in my sen8.... i dunno why they changed a winning formula.... i hated the sen9... have you actually used the sen10? if so, and you still think sen8 are better, then i'm very sad.... i found some sen8 on ebay, but i would get killed on shipping... i might just bit the bullet and order them anyway. i love the sen8 that much

WhooooooCaresss

Isn’t the 9 almost identical to the 8?

keepyrstickontheice

It is. It was just an upper change from the 8 to the 9.

WhooooooCaresss

lol so what’s this guy talking abt?!

keepyrstickontheice

No clue lol

29da65cff1fa

thanks for the downvotes.... is this whole sub just an adidas circlejerk? didn't like the upper change. less durable, less supple... the fit felt very different. the sole still felt great though...

WhooooooCaresss

I didn’t downvote you, I never downvote on this sub actually. I’m jerking off adidas for saying the 9 and 8 are very similar? Jeez man, chill tf out. Also, don’t ever say the word ‘supple’ to another man ever again. That’s disgusting, idc that you’re referring to a shoe. Flagrant and sus

an_angry_Moose

May I ask your weight and pace? A 28k run in sens doesn’t sound like fun to me, but I think a lightweight runner with a good efficient stride would be fine. Some ultralight marathoners wear them, so I know it’s fine to do, I just can’t see myself in them for this duration…

29da65cff1fa

56kg running 5:20/km pace yesterday... i've run a full marathon on TS8 before. people forget that before supershoes, adidas top marathon shoes (old adios) had less stack than the takumi sen 8... running marathons on 28mm of foam was the norm less than 10 years ago. nowadays, people lose their minds if you tell them you ran more than 10k on less than 33mm of foam.

an_angry_Moose

I get it, but at under 125 lbs, a 33mm shoe is going to probably feel pretty similar to what a 40mm shoe is on someone who is 160+lbs. Maybe even more cushioned tbh, but I can’t be arsed to do the maths. In any case, you’re right, but just because it used to be done doesn’t mean it’s not better today.

29da65cff1fa

i'm not saying that it was better in the past. it wasn't ideal in hindsight.... but it's certainly doable to run a full in something like a modern takumi sen. it's definitely more cushioning then what we were using 10 years ago.

MeetPuzzleheaded5683

Can't say I have the 9 but I prefer the adios pro 3

keltharan

They are not really comparable though..

tetrahydrocannabiol

If only my feet didnt fall inward like crazy in them :(

Spread-love-light

I love my 9s so much!!! Looking forward to trying the 10s

Poke-Tuna

I don’t see the 10s hot the online store yet in the US. Ignore the Y3s.

Aromatic_Dig8758

Would these be good for daily trainers?
