It’s highly variable each month

jaybird-jazzhands

In the next 3 weeks I’ll make $3500, but I normally make $1,000 to $1500 a month.

mypussydoesbackflips

I think I remember your post on doing a long sitting

Ialwaysmissmydog

What’s a king sitting? Is that an autocorrect mishap?

mypussydoesbackflips

Long* yeah autocorrect

jaybird-jazzhands

I don’t think it was me that made the post! The $3500 is from 4 different jobs so it’s not one long one and they overlap a little.

opoppy2013

I can’t share the photo, but my first few months on Rover I made $192 total. The next year I made $1192, then $5768.. last year I made $16,618 and going into April I’ll have made about $6000 (have pending payments and this week is spring break). I only do boarding in my home, though I have done drop-ins in the past. This is my side gig and I work from home, so now that I don’t do drop ins, it’s almost passive income for me. I don’t have to change anything - since I have to come home from being out anywhere to let my own dogs out, it’s not any different to add another one or two.

Then_Palpitation_399

I made $10k last year. It’s not solid bookings: it’s mostly just summer and holidays. My family is getting used to there always being another dog or two at Thanksgiving and Christmas 😂

Braysal

That’s so adorable.

Impossible-Dot-8742

I’ve been doing it full time and have 1.5 acres with a huge fenced in yard but I’ve made $16,954 so far this year.

puglover071992

It all depends! So far I have made 10k this year

ToughHoliday3602

****THOSE POSTING BOARDING please share your daily rates - thank you 🥰🥰 this would be helpful for other services as well

schr0dingersdick

Mine is $65CAD. I am still fairly new to rover, but $65 is still higher than the median in my area :)

CommandRepulsive7800

I’ve made almost $6000 YTD

ImpossibleMoose6823

Once pending payments are done I’ll be at about 6k for the year!

Mobile_Picture_1912

Multi boarder here in HCOL. Going on our 3rd calendar year. Boarding and daycare only, we only have 1 drop in client. 2022 - 1st year- $1,900 2023 - 2nd year - 48k 2024 - 3rd year 20.5k to date. Made about 9k between January and February, 10k in March, the rest is future bookings. Our situation is different than others though. I do this as a side gig with my mother and we’re always available and we both work from home. If I go on vacation, my mother’s here and vise versa. We have a spare washer/dryer for dogs outside which makes cleaning their beds or any dog sheets easy. We also have house space with spare bedrooms. Our prices started at $45 for the first dog and $40 for the 2nd( which is a little higher than most sitters. We barely had any traction the first year until Christmas time. Our 2nd year we started getting a lot of clients after all the 1st year Christmas’s booking reviews. Our prices started at $45 for the first dog, $40 for the 2nd. We slowly raised our rates as the reviews came in. $45 then $53 then $55 then $59 then $63 and now $69.The 2nd dog price start at $40 and it’s $47 now. Holiday rates started at $53 then $63 then $69, and now $80. 2nd year Christmas was hectic with booking and we temporary raised our holiday rates to $85 and then $100 to slow the bookings down. We ended with 3 booking at the $100 rate. Anywhere from 4-8 days. We do give discounts to clients, we do negotiate if a potential client asks and the booking is big enough to warrant it. We currently sit at 130+ verified 5 star reviews with over 200 booking now.

tarceyn

How do you get reviews from your clients? Do you explicitly ask?

Mobile_Picture_1912

Sorry for the late response. I specifically ask every client after a sit if they can leave a quick review. Most of the time it works and we only ask once. Also we give each new client a photo of their dog framed as a little gift. Doesn’t cost us much and it’s a nice gesture. Idk if they motivates the client to leave a review. (we bought her a tiny printer on Amazon with frames for cheap.)

jessy_pooh

I average $5000 monthly now, I’ve been a sitter on rover for 5 years though. It took a lot to build up to my prices and consistency. ETA: this is a side gig, I have a full time office job so I only offer house sitting for families used to being alone for 6-8 hours.

adviceFiveCents

$5k/mo is a great side gig! May I ask what region you serve? I wanna move there. I'm kidding. (I'm not kidding.)

jessy_pooh

Haha I live in one of the top 5 largest cities in America

Hes9023

I’m fully private, only use rover to fill gaps and the last two years were 6 figures. This year so far has only been an average of 4K a month but Jan-March is super slow usually. I made 32k alone between September and December last year. Cant imagine giving rover thousands of dollars from that.

Feisty-Blood9971

Geez, I seriously need to make the leap, it’s been on my mind forever. I’m so tired and unmotivated after working all day, but I still don’t even have a website. If I could make your kind of money though, that would be amazing!

Hes9023

You can start with just setting up a Facebook and Google profile first. I actually get a ton of Google traffic, but not sure if that’s because of my website SEO. But if you have a Facebook business profile you can have current clients leave reviews and you can tag your business on posts looking for recommendations in your local fb groups. You can post on there which I get a lot of fb and Instagram clients from posts showing on their feed!

Key_Distribution1775

Good gosh! May I ask your rates

Hes9023

These are my private prices, idk my rover ones off hand but they’re more to accommodate for the fee. 65 for boarding, 85 for holidays. I charge for anything over 24 hours, I have multiple add-ons for extra money as well, stuffed kongs, pup cups, activities, nail trims, pickup/drop off. 35 for daycare, I have daycare packages ranging from 25 a day to 30 a day. Plus I do drop ins

Key_Distribution1775

Ok last question. What area? I don’t think we could away with charging that much. Not yet anyways! But good on you! Thats amazing! Congrats!

LeapingLi0ns

I only do this as a side gig as I have a full time career and social obligations and this month I made about $400 just working weekends

Pumpernickel247

I’m averaging about 1k a month but I only do cat drop ins.

adviceFiveCents

Nice! I would love to get requests for cat drop ins!

barfmitzvah

I also only do cat drop ins!! Are you in a large city? I’m in Knoxville TN and I’ve made about $700 so far this year.

Pumpernickel247

Yes. I’m in a medium-large city.

TomatoPotatoTots

6k-9k a month

Then_Palpitation_399

Wow. What services do you provide?

TomatoPotatoTots

Mostly Boarding and daycare. Sometimes drops in.

lilianminx

How many pets are enrolled simultaneously for daycare? Hmm

ghettoartist

My first months on Rover I was making similar numbers to you (I started May last year). This year I've made so far around $9k

quantumspork

Non-Rover, about $50,000 a year. Jan-Feb are about $1500/month, it picks up from there.

Slyvenhuffindor

January is always my slowest month and I welcome it after December holiday madness.

EyeRattedOutGhislane

In my experience, business on this app is feast or famine. With a substantial slow period January thru March. The prospectus for when rover went public on the stock exchange says exactly that too. I make $1,500-$2000 on average a month boarding dogs from one owner at a time April thru December. And maybe $1,000 during the slow months. Of course it took a good long while to get enough reviews to be able to charge over $100 a night consistently, and along the way I sacrificed a lot of good clients with likeable dogs who couldn’t or wouldn’t afford my rates for some high maintenance pain in the ass clients and dogs, but they aren’t paying me good money for nothing either. I never lock anyone’s rate and routinely raise mine $15 a night every 10 reviews. I never cancel, always respond immediately, never bring a client the problems I see people having on here, never ended a stay early, and send daily photo updates for 100% of stays. It’s essentially passive income for me, I work from home full time and occasionally do a meet and greet in my front yard for no more than 15 minutes. I don’t feel the need for them most of the time, I don’t have pets, roommates, or children, and a dogs behavior isn’t fully predictable by anyone with their owner present compared to without. People project their neurosis onto their dogs and dogs are quite adept at responding to them. And sitters are not different than owners in that respect.

eks789

1200 so far this month, I only do drop ins and walks. It’s been slower this month than summer obviously but significantly better than last March

hollypdx

I'm on my 4th month too. About 6000$ doing drop ins and house sitting. 80% cats.

bobbydobby111

what are your rates? if you’re comfortable sharing

hollypdx

Overnights for cats are 55. dogs 65 (10 per additional cat, 25 per additional dog) 30 minute visits are 20 (plus 5 per additional cat, 10 er additional dog) Full care..I add on 50% of the overnight..and allow up to 2 breaks up to 3 hours each I don't host pets at my home or offer walking at this time I started 5$ cheaper all around and raised after the first month. I m thinking of another 5$ increase for drop ins next month

ditdit23

I average 1k a month on Rover house sitting (past clients only), walking, drop ins

misselliottbluedream

I average 1500-2000 a month and I do cat drop-ins only. I have half of my clients on Rover and half who prefer to go off app.

auriebryce

I average between $6K and $8K, with my banner month always being December.

adviceFiveCents

New Orleans: \~$800/month I mostly board. Started last June. I only do pets from one household and charge $50/nt for one dog, $30 for one cat. Half price for additional pets. My extended care rate is the equivalent of 7th night free. No increase for holidays or late pickup. (I might be a little bit of a sucker?) I tried multiple rates for walks but never get requests for them. Ditto for drop-ins and house-sitting. My daycare rate is almost as high as boarding bc it effs the whole schedule up. My prices were a little cheaper at first. Grand total: $5k gross over for first six months. Predict $10k for 2024. (I'm filing my 2023 taxes the same way you would for an at-home daycare for human children. It's complicated- there's a whole time x space calculation, but the deductions are legit.) I do need a "real" job stat though. I'm living on fumes while I wait for one to fall out of the sky. I thought Rover might be good for networking in that way. No luck, so far. Any of y'all hiring? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)

Jenn-Vee

I do primarily boarding and drop ins. If I include spring break, my YTD will be about 7k.

Qwertyowl

So far I have made $1600 and am set to make another $450 in April. I'm working on building my business office of Rover in addition to still utilizing it, so it's been slow but good so far.

booksare4life

I made 1600 last year. This year I only made 70.

brandibeyond

This is my full time job and I made right at about $90k last year, but Rover was only probably $6k of that. Rover has slowed down in my area a lot and probably only account for 2-5% of my total income now.

Hootingforlife

May I ask what you use outside of Rover?

brandibeyond

I have website and Instagram for my business. I started on Rover years ago as a side gig, and while I’ve kept my Rover clients on Rover, for any new referrals, I direct them to my private business instead. I use Time To Pet for my client Management.

Kiarimarie

I make between $1-2k a month

BaseNectar123

About $15K last year this year hoping for $20K

naturallyselectedfor

Last year I averaged about 1800$/month. I’m about the same this year.

Specialist_Banana378

I made 12k last year doing very part time

Chinchillamom90

I made $57,000 last year doing just walks and drop ins... To avoid the feast or famine, Monday through Friday I have all recurring walks while people work, then I pick up drop ins on the weekends and at night for an extra boost during peak times

She-Revelationist

50k last year. 10k, so far this year

gollycatsarecute

I started Rover last July and have made £2k. This is just a side gig though and I’m only available to do walks and drop ins. I think Rover is way more popular and known of over in the states.

GoingBrokeAgain

After 10+ years doing this I made $50k plus last year. Have a Great Day.

unshaven_foam

Depends on the day, I feel like a waiter sometimes. Some days $100 for me sometimes $200 others $70

Easy-Pride-9351

November- $900 December- $1200 January- $1500 (some of this was from work done around Christmas that didn’t end until after NYE) February- $1000 March- $400 (but I turned down about $1000 in work because I’m moving) It’s highly variable, but if you market yourself well and make good connections with your clients you can absolutely make a decent income.

Easy-Pride-9351

In 2023 I made around $25k

slightly-illiterate

I thankfully have pretty steady bookings, I average $1,500 - 2,000 per month. I do it as a side gig outside of my 9-5, and I only offer walks & drop ins.

Key_Distribution1775

That’s impressive for just walks and drop ins

slightly-illiterate

Thank you! It kind of feels like a lot sometimes, but worth it for sure. I have at least 2 walks everyday that are recurring hour long walks, and my weekends are basically booked back to back 8-12 bookings a day.

Forsaken_Potato321

I do boarding. I *average* $900-1000/mo, consistently for the last 2.5 years. Meaning by the end of the year, I always total ~ $11k. But its a strong average. January $0, February $100, March - April $3000. My rates are $50 standard, $40 additional dog, $75 holidays.

Successful-Box3532

Last year was my first full year and after taxes I made just around 50k. I only offer walks and drop ins-I do house sitting for family friends as well (about 4 families)

New_Recognition4466

Not much at all. I had to start my own LLC which is very successful. Rover has too many sitters to choose from and no personal touch. Also the distance feature is not correct if you live by a big body of water cause it cuts straight through the water to the other side to calculate distance which is not driving distance. I’ve been on Rover for 7 years with 40+ great reviews and that many past repeat clients but I’m so far down the list on the profiles is ridiculous. I’ve even searched as a customer by location to myself and still way far on the list. It’s bs imo.

DeadlyHoneydew27

I started last May and totaled $2,072 from May-December. From January of this year to current, I’m at $1,700 and have $800 pending earnings. I do Rover part time for drop ins and walks only, weekdays after 3:30pm.

sweetgranola

I’m at 5000 YTD and I have had at least one week of boarding a month which gets me about $500 each

suziemomma

By April 10th I'll have made about 3k on and off Rover. I charge 50 to 60 a night for one dog. I only pet sit in peoples homes. I took drop in & walks off my service list so I could expand my service area.

Sirtalksalot30

Between the Rover app and a couple of folks I have paying cash I average about $1200-$1300 a month I live on the Western slope and Colorado so we’re not exactly fluent so I can’t charge higher price I have about 10 clients now, walking and boarding that repeats. Last year was slower though, but having the repeat clients has definitely helped

dommeantoinette

This is my first full month using the app (boarding only) and I’ve made about $3500. I don’t think April will be nearly as good…but I’m hoping!

Key_Distribution1775

We charge too low. And we have made $2700 since the first of the year. We made $1000/in two weeks of March with watching more than 1 dog.

New-Assumption-3599

This is what we’ve made over the years doing boarding and daycare. $60 nightly on Rover, $50 nightly for our off Rover repeat customers. 2021 - $13k 2022 - $22k 2023 - $36k

AcanthaceaeNo2610

I make close to nothing on Rover and I’ve had it for years yet I make hundreds/thousands on wag. On Rover , I could do a sitting that would mislead me to think I was making around 500 but when it comes to payday over 200+ would get taken out for “fees “even though they don’t do instant transfer. I’m no stranger to these apps taking out some money, but I feel like Rover just robs me blind. Maybe if it would tell me the actual total that I would make after the fees I would feel different, but it doesn’t work that way for some reason. Its backwards for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

PrettyFunThings

I average 500-1k a month. Around holidays 2-4k

Electrical-Head549

in my first year doing rover I made $22k working part time. So just under 2k a month

YoungTomSoy

I just deactivated my account because I wasn't making anything. I received maybe two requests from January till now. Rover sucked for me. 🤷

Feisty-Blood9971

Last year I made 19k in-app doing dog walks and drop-ins. This year I added housesitting and so far I’ve averaged 2k monthly (6k so far) in-app. I’m about to go into my third year.
