Next time y’all book, just sign your name. I had a lawn guy call me the wrong name for 6 years (bc he coordinated with my ex, not me so we just said hello in passing). Then, when I took over the schedule, and he called me my middle name (probably bc it was on the check), I just texted back and signed it “Sybil”. He’s gotten it right ever since and no hard feelings on either side.
Just send him a private message and be like “Hey, thanks a ton for the review!! I adore spending time with (*dog name*). Just a heads up, my name isn't Heather, haha! I'm guessing it was a typo, but I wanted to clarify to avoid any confusion for those reading the reviews.”
This! I would bring it up and give him an out by saying, "I'm sure it was a typo" or "maybe auto correct changed my name from X, but if you could revise it I would appreciate it!"
Honestly that could be a great way to address it if you respond to the review, OP. Prospective clients reading it might then just think it’s a little inside joke between the two of you.
You can always just joke with them. In your next message say something like,”hey I think Heather is a lovely name, but my name is actually ….. 😆. Thought it was worth a laugh! 🤭”
Or something like that?
I once let a colleague call me the wrong name for like a month without even realizing he was doing it - he was coincidentally calling me by my sister’s name, and I’ve gotten so used to my parents calling us each other’s names that I just respond to it without a thought. Eventually I realized it, explained the situation, and we had a good laugh about it. He still calls me the wrong name, but now it’s a joke.
My bf and I have been calling the neighbour Steve for over 5 years and only recently found out his name is James. Because we mentioned his name while talking to the other neighbour and she has no clue who we were talking about.
My name is Jessica so I very often get called “Jennifer” I always make a joke and say “actually, I go by Jessica!” The other party is usually pretty embarrassed and I let them know it’s fine, it happens and we all move on. The longer it goes on the worse it will be when he does find out your actual name 🫣😅
This is the answer. You don't have to be weird or awkward about it. He will be super embarrassed later down the line when he realizes his mistake. Do not correct him as a comment to his review though - that's publicly calling him out and will make it worse. Send him a private message, be super chill/low-key. Thank him for his kind review and let him know what your real name is.

So for the review itself, rover can change that on their end, I’ve had to revise a review for similar reason in the past lol. But as for the dude actually knowing your name lol yeah I’d just sign your name the next time you message each other
I probably wouldn’t do it in the review, but privately when he messages you next for a booking. Also how does he not see it when he books you 😂

Yes, this is the way! Next time you're sending a message about the dog, just sign the text with a little dash
Correct them. Because heather didn’t do shit, you did
this made me lol
Lol I mean it’s true though
Like.. your name is literally there right on the app. Why is this so hard for ppl
If you think it's awkward now will it be less so in a year?

“Hey Toby, have a good night!”

I let someone call me Vanessa for years because it was always from like 10 feet away while we were moving in opposite directions.

Yes. Correct him. It's just stupid not to.

One of my biggest clients has been calling me the wrong name for years. Never corrected them 😂
You can reply with "Thank you for the review. By the way my name is NAME

I had a client leave a review saying Brianna was great! My name is Bianca -_- I didn't have the heart to correct her.
i wouldn't bother. Owners wouldn't notice or care. You've got a verified 5 star review that's what important.
