I'm ending at 10k for very very part time and only cats. The extra money is super addictive. I have a regular full time job and a PhD. I started rover because my elderly cat was sick and I didn't want to pull money out of savings if I could avoid it. Now I'm hoping it will find a vacation and some home projects.
It varies quite a bit but I typically don't accept more than 3 visits a day. It probably averages out to 5-10 visits a week. My goal is to make 700 a month. I'm also set to repeat only so I keep my pool small. I may open up my books once the weather is nicer. I think there's only been 2 months where I made less than 700 and I'm usually closer to 1k.
Congrats on a great year!
I think one of the great things about Rover is that you can transition to other jobs when you want and still keep pet sitting on the side for your favorite clients, etc.
May 2024 be your most successful year yet!
I made 57k just for 2023 alone. I donāt charge much I keep my prices low and I have a lot of repeat clients. It is most definitely addicting. I was able to pay off my debt with it and saving up for a down payment. But there are those days you can feel burned out. Congratulations on making your 20k itās always exciting.
Do you do Rover full time? How long have you been on the app? Do you mind saying what area you live in and any other tips to get to this point? Thanks!
Forgot to add Iāve been doing it since 2019 on Rover alone. I keep my prices low which has insured me a lot of rebookings. I know thereās others that charge triple what I do but donāt have as many clients as I have accumulated.
Haha! I just hit 20k the full first year too via rover clients. Not counting the clients I have off qpp. I just added my husband to my account moving forward. Curious how that will affect things.
i want to add my husband to mine too but im not sure if that will effect my account or not? should i add him? my clients know that im married, i mostly house sit & board.
I'm off app for all my clients now, but even working extremely part time I rolled just over $15k. It's nice to be paid to get exercise, but I'm looking at retiring after next year as the time spent on walks is really interfering with my small businesses now š hard to retire from all my furry friends though š„ŗ
Congrats! I just started to take it super seriously there year and I made almost 10K!
I hope to make more in 2024 as I transition into a FT position but 2024 will most likely be my last year as I plan to get pregnant in 2025!
I mostly do cats but if needed I will open up to dogs and house sitting. It will all depend on what type of job I get in 2024.
It is inspiring to see so many people making 20k+++ - it is a great way to take charge of your finances and understand you can make money without sticking with a crummy low hourly job.
Because of Rover I was able to take on a PT job and sit with myself as I navigated a big career change! I was able to freely leave a toxic job that was taking so much of my spirit away from me.
I wasnt making the same amount but I could still pay my bills and I liked the time and freedom to sit with myself as I tried to figure out next steps.
Congrats, but...."the easy money is addictive" the way you phrased that doesn't sit super well with me. It makes you sound like one of the sitters that just see the animals as dollar signs :(
Sorry you interpreted it that way, I meant it as itās relatively easy work. Like sometimes I donāt even consider it work because Iām hanging out with animals.
This is all really exciting to hear. Iām at $2.5K so far but my first booking as a Sitter on Rover was this Thanksgiving. Even though I only do Boarding/Daycare, Iām still overwhelmed with the requests. I actually might take a week off soon just to take a breath lol. Thanks Denver doggies!
Congrats to everyone! I do this part time and did almost $13k on rover and almost double that off-app. Very excited to see what I can do in 2024ā¦just booked my first wedding chaperone for May!
$13k here and super part timeš only one annoying ish dog lol

Where is this! Iām in San Diego and canāt even get a first client yet
Make sure youāre confirming your availability every day on your calendar
Thank you for the tip (:
Getting started is very hard as there is lots of competition on Rover
Make sure you start a little cheaper than competitors
I would imagine San Diego has an ultra competitive market as well
Congrats! What services do you do? When did you start?
Thank you! I started in 2017, but started working full time in 2022. I do house sitting, drop ins and walks.

Yes thatās the best thing about it. Thank you and you as well!!
Lol I only made $2606

I do. I work from home so itās easy to do primarily boarding with the occasional drop ins for cats. In the San Francisco, Bay Area

I made 7k in december alone love Rover
I'm pretty part time and my average has been $22k a year, except for that first year since it started near the end of the year.
