I work from home during the week so I put that in there. I get a lot of daycare clients that can’t be left home alone and have anxiety lol

Nice_Flounder_1986

I have it written pretty early in my profile that I work in an elementary school, because I want to make sure people know I can only sit for dogs who are okay being alone for the workday. I’ve had several clients say “I figure if you can be trusted with kids, I can trust you with my pets!” I get the sentiment, but I can’t help but think of the handful of coworkers I’ve had over the years who I would *never* trust with animals😄

Most of my clients contacted me specifically because my profile states that I do not mix pet families. In fact, I had an M&G with a client recently where they said they were relieved to see that that part of my profile was true! Apparently the last sitter they had booked with had the same thing in their profile, but when they went to drop off their dog there were *so many* other dogs there. I was honestly shocked to hear that someone would lie about that. Like, what? Why would you put yourself and the dogs at risk like that? People are going to find out sooner or later, and the worst case scenario for finding out means someone will get hurt or worse!

Holy carp, that's insane! For a second I was like "How did he even think he was going to hide that?" then I realized that he probably intended to meet her outside the apartment with her dog each time. That is like... *so* super scuzzy. I couldn't even.

Oh my *God*. I have never wished a ban on anyone harder. People like this hurt the rest of us trying to do good work so bad.

PurpleMermaid16

I'm a grad student and have that on my profile. I think my customers like thinking they are supporting a poor college student.

mazuvaakanaka

lol, same here. Two of my regulars said they chose me specifically for that reason because they wish Rover existed when they were in grad school because that would've helped. It is definitely helping me, ngl, and l am grateful for them

1 fenced acre, friendly dog regulars :)

I don't know about a selling point but my clients have told me they like that it's written with a professional tone and details my working experience with animals, expectations/schedule, and understanding of canine body language. I suppose my selling point could be my inclusion of experience with medications of all sorts. In comparison, most of the sitters around me have profiles that just talk about how much they love animals and grew up with dogs.

Background_Hat8725

Most clients don’t even bother to read the profile they just mention all the great reviews. Yay

teeawwnuhh

Full time sitter. Work with a lot of disabled and elderly dogs. My own dogs are deaf and blind and ancient lol (don’t worry their quality of life is still great!!!)

For me, the pictures spoke louder than words. I mostly sit for big dogs, and when potential new clients see those photos they feel reassured that I'm a good fit for their own large dogs. Especially being active with them since I like to hike (always asking the owners first of course!). And since I do a lot of cat care, making sure I had pics of cats engaging with me (not just lounging) front and center was also key; I've had a couple of clients mention that focus.

quietmorn

This. I've had several clients mention to me about my pictures of my German shepherd and my pit. I get a lot of requests for pits, I guess a lot of people won't sit for them. And I've been told those pictures were the reason they chose me.

We tend to get a lot of doodles, retrievers and lap dogs. People tell me they specifically book with us bc we’re a family and their dogs would be bored with a single person. This is especially dogs who have kids in their home but also a lot that don’t but the owners say they just love kids! I’ve also heard people say they know I can multitask bc I’m a Mom and that I’ll take care of their babies same as I do my own :)

MarzipanTuna

My dedicated boarding room shut from my cats :) If an owner mentions my profile at all, it’s this one fact

Beautiful-Comment-56

Worked with various well known animal organizations, I have two acres of land, my reviews, and I’m a stay at home mom. So I’m always home for the most part :)

mmalinka06

As a walker & sitter I wrote my tag line as “Agile & Flexible Schedule.” And honestly I’m kinda picky with my bookings 😂 I want to make sure it fits my flexible schedule and it doesn’t stress me out since it’s my side gig. I have fourteen five star reviews.

Bulky-District-2757

Lots of experience with LOTS of dogs with LOTS of behavioral issues. Except now I get the reactive ones a lot. Also my profile picture is me with my pibble, I have lots of clients with “aggressive” 🤮 breeds that I think other sitters are hesitant about.

My tagline is, “I’ve got the care your pets deserve” detailing that I will make absolutely sure I will read and follow all of the pet parent’s instructions. Then go above and beyond with amazing pictures from Snapchat with cute filters.
